Advance Auto corporate misrepresent their processes, essentially house of lies. Stores don't have forms, refer you to AA/rebates website. Put in all the receipt data (store ID, transaction #, etc) and get tracking info. Within 24 hours an email appears that says can't be processed, need more info. Provides 888.378.9766 customer service and disconnects after 5 seconds every time, try it. Sent email instead with no response. Dead end, no rebate. Invested time chasing non working process. So investing more time here to warn others, stay away from purchases that entice with rebates. It's a GIANT SCAM! read more

Called the store to see if they would be willing to install a battery on a 2015 Toyota Corolla. Was told yes, that it was a piece of cake. Placed an order online, went to pick it up and get it installed where I was told they're short staffed and can't do it. Was told to come back after 2pm when breaks were done so that I can get it installed. I did just that, and ended up being told that because it's "raining" it cannot be done. Would have just saved myself the trip and picked it up and found a YouTube video to do it myself. Came here to say that I've done it myself. Watched a 2 minute YouTube video and it took 5 minutes. We settled upon Die Hard Platinum AGM. Kevin installed it promptly, gratis. The old battery disposal fee was waived; since the store installed it. Went into the location to pick up an online order. Somehow the system used the billing name for the order which was my fiancé. Despite placing the order in my own name, the system recognized the billing parties info instead. My issue came into place when I was told, I would not be able to pick up the part. But when asked to have the ordered canceled. I was given the ability to do so on the spot by the "CASHIER"! So guys, you can cancel random orders without being listed. Having physical issues, I asked if they would put the new wiper blades on, I had just purchased. Was told no, she had other things to do. Another clerk asked her to put the blades on, again her response was a resounding "NO". I actually thought it was part of the helpful staff policy to assist with the installation of wiper blades. Purchased $92 Slime electric tire pump today. It struggled to inflate above 37psi and smoked at 42psi. Returned with receipt to Crestwood Road, Frederick MD store within two hours of purchase and was told by manager they would not accept return because some people purchase for one time emergency use. Brilliant policy! Screw and alienate your good customers out of fear for the potential bad customer. read more

TOTAL FAIL. Incompetent, indifferent service. Time and money wasted. Never again!! I went here on Saturday to purchase a rear lightbulb and passenger side rearview mirror glass for my Honda CRV. I was told they didn't have the mirror glass in stock but it would be in on "Tuesday" and they would call me when it arrived. I left with the lightbulb. When I got home and attempted to replace the lightbulb, I found out they'd given me the wrong one. I had to re-assemble the light bank, drive back, ask for the right light bulb, go home and disassemble/re-assemble again. Then today, Tuesday, I called half an hour before closing while out running errands because I still hadn't heard about the mirror glass. The person who answered the phone checked on it for me and stated that the order slip said it would arrive on Tuesday the NINTH. That is TEN DAYS after the day it was supposedly ordered. What, was it being carried on horseback from the other side of the country?? I would never have agreed to wait that long had they told me that upfront. I would have either found it in stock elsewhere or ordered it online. But what really takes this into the stratosphere of unacceptable customer "service" is how utterly uninterested the rep was in rectifying the situation. He didn't apologize, didn't offer a solution, and when I said I wanted my money back, he said I couldn't get it unless I had a sales receipt with me. Really? This is the same sales receipt I didn't have on Saturday when I had to come back the first time because of their incompetence. Somehow that cashier managed to refund the charge for the wrong lightbulb anyway, and sell me the right one. It's my phone number in their system. My same credit card that paid for it. But this rep said I couldn't even show a driver's license as proof of identity. He said "that only works so many times" and said something about a "national database". Ummmm, what? He seemed to be implying that I was somehow trying to rip *them* off by getting a refund for a $12.99 part they lied to me about. In fact, the ripping off went entirely one way: THEY ripped me off. I do not have the part I ordered. I will have to get it elsewhere because I cannot drive around yet another week with no side mirror. They ripped off my time and gas as well with their inability to even give me the correct lightbulb. When all they do in the entire world is SELL AUTO PARTS you'd think they could accurately identify the auto part needed in a given situation. Guess that's too much to ask. I have to conclude that Advance Auto Parts really doesn't want repeat customers and would prefer to go out of business. I hope they are successful in that endeavor! read more

I want to thank Kevin for the excellent customer service he provided!! The store was busy when I arrived yet Kevin provided fast and friendly service and I have to say good customer service is what keeps loyal customers. I had a battery and wiper installation and with a little patience while he took a few customers in between I would say it's worth the wait. A short wait it was. Have been here a few times, and generally found what I needed and got useful advice. Yesterday I called ahead and was told they could install a battery in our minivan. Instead I had to install it myself since they couldn't find their wrench set and were "too busy" right then. (But not too busy for one employee to first go brew a pot of coffee, then go outside and have a smoke while I did the work in 7-degree weather and using the only tool I had in the glove box, a large Vise Grip.) If I hadn't called ahead to check, I would have no reason to be disappointed. But I consider this to be essentially "bait and switch." When I went inside and respectfully told Greg, the guy who appeared to be the manager, why I never planned to return to his store, he simply argued with me. Never again. read more

This store sucks. We bought a battery in December (2015) and a day later it died. We had it replaced by them, this is a battery with the 5 yr warranty. Here it is 7 1/2 months later and the second battery died. Don't EVER buy batteries from them. I will never go to this store again. This is my go-to place for my mid 90's ride. I never wanted to live up to the silly stereotype that women don't know anything about cars, but I know just enough about car maintenance to get me by. The staff has never looked at me funny for my questions and is always polite. I came to them late one night with a busted windshield wiper and not only did the young lady behind the counter help me find a decent brand of windshield wipers, she installed them for me. In the dark. In the rain. No additional charge. I love this place. read more
