He didn't disappoint, and did a great job repairing multiple panels on the body of my car, including uncovering some longstanding issues from a repair from a less reputable establishment and giving me some photos to try to use for evidence. In addition, he cleared up some sap issues on paint unrelated to the body damage that I thought I'd never get out. The communication is horrible. I got the run around about my vehicle for the time line for the work to be done. I have multiple voicemails and text all contradictions.one text say it's done and someone will call me. Crickets I call and ask a day of two later it was not actually fixed. Then someone got rushed to the hospital. I get that stuff happens but communication this to the custFinally get my car back and they didn't snap all the pierces back in so the first time one of my kids step up to get in they crack the piece. They know about it say they are going to replace it. Here we are 4-5 months later nothing. I got a call last week apologizing they have the piece, but they need to get back to me when it can be swapped out. Have not hear back. I mean the work was done correctly it is just the run around about fixing things is crazy. read more

Best auto shop experience! I blew a tire, looked up closest shop to get my car towed to and saw their great reviews. I called and they took my car in right away. I talked with David, he was so friendly and helpful. They fixed my car's front bumper and helped put a donut on within the half hour of bringing my car in so that I was able to get to work the next morning. Ordered me a new tire right away. I brought my car in a couple days later when I was able to, and they put the new tire on immediately at no additional charge. Dan's Auto shop was so welcoming, kind, honest, fair and eager to help when I wasn't even a customer of theirs yet. Also, was very safe with everyone wearing masks and being 6 feet away distance at all times. They made a stressful situation much more bearable. I had a complete blackout done on all my chrome about 6 months ago and was guaranteed 3-5 years it would last. 6 months later I noticed the back started to chip and the mirror trim. I reached out and they put touch up paint to see if that would be a quick fix and said come back if you don't like it. So I scheduled to come back where I was told they would completely repaint the areas that chipped. I dropped my car off the night before and waited until 5pm- it wasn't ready until 5:30. To which they had just put the same touch up paint on. I waited 8 and a half hours for the same result. I understand being short staffed but this was not at all what I was promised. I actually heard good things about this place, which is why I even took the hour commute out here. Unfortunately, my experience here wasn't good. I was given a price quote over the phone by a secretary only to take the hour drive out here and have the owner (i believe) give me a different quote. Of course the in-person quote was more expensive, which was ok, but when i informed him of the differences in the quotes i was given by two people at the same place of business, he seemed to not care. Didn't even attempt to ask the secretary or anything. I didn't see any prices listed anywhere visable to verify this is what they charge for the job i wanted done, so I chose to take my business elsewhere. While leaving, i called said secretary to inform her of what just happened and asked that she and her boss communicate a little better so that the miscommunication on thier part doesnt fall on and inconvience a potential customer. Amazing results, fabulous customer service, trustworthy organization. Recently, I won a raffle prize generously gifted by Dan's Auto Body at Wicked Big Meet. The service and product combo was a two step paint correction and Opti-coat Pro. When I contacted them to redeem the service, Joana was excited to get me scheduled and see what they could do for me. I'll be the first to admit that my car really needed some paint and clear coat help. In addition to this, other services were recommended to me (clear coat on headlights and vinyl over fog lights), really great recommendations that I went ahead with. After following their work on Instagram, I was so excited to get back into my vehicle. The end result was amazing, the car looks better than it did when it was brand new. Staff is very nice and accommodating, but this review is on the service I received on my car. Short/easy explanation of why I am giving a one star: my car was given back to me twice with paint on electrical parts that shouldn't have had paint on them, which resulted in me losing power steering and all electrical on 93 North, while my brother and sister were in the car with me, directly related to the repair work done at Dan's Auto Body. I am lucky I was in the right-hand lane at the time and was able to pull over. I'm trading in my leased car because I feel unsafe in it. I asked Dan's Auto for some financial assistance since they received a large payment to fix my 2019 CX-3, and haven't heard a peep. Detail... My car was parked on the street and someone hit it, so it was towed to get fixed. It was in Dan's Auto Body Shop for over a month. When I got it back the first time, the check engine light went off after a few days/week and lights flashed on the dashboard on and off. Then while driving it around with someone at the shop we realized the horn didn't work either. The problem was the grounding, as I mentioned above, paint was on electronical parts in error, so they said they cleaned it up. Fast forward two weeks, I am 2 hours north of Boston on 93 near the White Mountains and my car loses power steering and all electrical, so I couldn't even put on my hazards. I had to pull over once there was a breakdown lane (when it happened there wasn't anywhere to pull over) and then have it towed back to Peabody the next day. When it got to Dan's Auto Body, they said they couldn't figure out what was wrong, so they brought it over to the Mazda Dealership in Wakefield. When they got it, they said "it looked like someone spray painted all over the electrical and didn't cover up parts appropriately", so they had to do a bunch of work to fix that. Now I of course don't trust the rest of the work done to my car. I received little empathy from Dan and during the first call to him after this happened he apologized in the middle of the conversation and not right away. I am currently attempting to request payment for out of pocket fees associated with trading in my car, because it's now considered a trade in, with a lower value. I was understanding the FIRST time I took it back, but after the second horrifying expense enough is enough. Feel free to message me with any questions. read more

I am from Lawrence and only take my car to Dan's Auto Body in Peabody (about 30-45 min drive) for repairs. That being said, I don't trust my car with any body shop around town. Their service is amazing and my car always comes out looking like it came out of the BMW dealer. They are so friendly and have even given me quotes when I DM'ed through Instagram and send pictures of the damages to my car. They handle everything insurance related efficiently too, including rentals and supplements. This is the ONLY body shop I recommend! read more

I wish I could leave a 0star review. Brought my car here to get plasti-dipped. A normal easy job. Charged me a decent price in the beginning for sure. upon picking up my car from being dipped, a so called "reaction" was occurring between the dip and the fender. Instead of calling me to notify me of what was happening, they pushed my car out anyway. You'd think after paying over 1500 dollars for a job, they'd let you know when something was going wrong. After showing them what was happening, the tech said that it was a reaction with my clear coat underneath which upon further investigation leads me to believe that some sort of substance, either grease or oil got on the fender before they sprayed over it causing the reaction, and seeing that nowhere else on my car was having this issue, their story did not make sense. Under further investigation, I noticed multiple spots where it seemed that they sprayed over dirt! I was told after bringing this to their attention that this was dirt in my original paint. (I now know that this was a flat out lie seeing that when I peeled the dip off, the dirt peeled off with it). Dans offered to have me come back in to have them fix the fender issue, but charged me still for "body work". Their body work included them stripping my fender down to bare metal, and not repriming before re-dipping the fender. Along with that second visit, I needed my hatch door and bumper resprayed as I had been rear ended a week prior. They resprayed it for me no problem, but on my taking off the dip, I discovered that they did not prime the new hatch or bumper, but I was charged for the whole job, even though only half of it got done. The cherry on top of this story is that they rushed my car out so fast and did not pay attention to detail. How?, you may ask? They sprayed right over my license plate lights. Which is incredibly illegal to have on a car that is driven daily. The gross lack of attention to detail and the refusal to rectify the situation has me incredibly frustrated and disappointed by this shop. Please don't go here for anything. Scumbags like these don't deserve to have your business. read more

Took the car here to repair front end collision caused of good reviews on fb and google. Big mistake. First time around, my car got all junk low quality parts installed and poorly fitted together. I was ashamed to show it to anyone. Paint has visible dust specks embedded on. Color matching was poorly done, ghosting everywhere when looking at an angle... Returned the car so they swapped to oem parts (Didnt correct the paint issue) but again they couldnt even install pop rivets right, how is this a bodyshop, you suppose to pull the stem of the pop rivets, not just pushing them in. My wheel liner came undone after 1000 miles of driving that was how I found out about these pop rivets.. I found out they disassembled everything for "hidden" damage and did a hack job while putting them back. Parts was left with gaps here and there. Front bumper has missing rivets and clips. Wheel liners holes misaligned with fenders. They said " you gotta understand these cars have hundred of parts coming together so... " duh thats why I am paying professional to do it right. Last, without my knowing they drove my car somewhere for almost 50 miles and disable the gps feature on the car. When I got the car back, there was cologne smell all over the seatbelt straps and the seats. This has left a very bitter taste my the mouth personally. Next time I go to the shop down the street from Nashua, no need to make a long commute here for nothing... not to mention they are quite expensive too.. read more

Just got my jeep back from a minor accident. The service was fast and the car looks exactly the way it did before the accident. They even did a complementary detail on the car before returning it to me. The detail took out a lot of the smaller scratches that had accumulated on my jeep over the last couple of years. Last January I was hit by a front end loader. Pretty minor damage to the passenger side front of my car. I was originally planning to have body work done to my car regardless so seemingly it was the right moment to go ahead get some extra work done with the repairs. We arranged to have the car towed to his shop and go from there. I get an estimate on the damage and we go over the after market parts I wanted to change/add (front/rear bumper and a new trunk). Which of course Id pay out of pocket for. We also discuss that the car (which originally had a blue vinyl wrap) would have that removed as well. Mind you that the owner and I have mutual friends at a reputable tuner shop in the area that does all the work on my car and some on his. That's actually how I learned about this shop to begin with. My buddy has sent a few people under his own recommendation to Dan's. At first the communication was ok but after a couple weeks I literally felt like I had no idea what was going on. Weeks eventually turned into literal months. During this time it was poor communication. I mainly talked with a secretary who usually had to find out the answers and call me back. I asked multiple times for updated versions of estimates because there were few small details I wanted to add which I never got. During this time I also get a phone call from Dan recommending I paint the entire car because, the new painted areas look off in comparison to the older areas that don't need any work. Which of course is going to be more money. I reluctantly agree and ask for an estimate which is I didn't get just a verbal one. Dan's had my car for upwards of 3.5/4 months. All to get 2 bumpers, a trunk lid and paint. Does that sound reasonable? Cool, no one else did either. During this time of minimal info of when anything would be done our mutual friend tried his best to get to the bottom of whatever was going on. Constantly expressing disbelief and concern as to why this was taking so long. Now an extra bit. My original exhaust had a dual exhaust with a single tip on either side. I had upgraded to a dual exhaust with 2 tips on either side. That's why I wanted the new rear bumper to begin with. Mid April rolls around and my car is finally done. We agree to have the car towed from Dan's to the tuner shop I had mentioned to have the new exhaust put on. Upon going to the shop and seeing my car the first thing I notice is that the front bumper I had asked for isn't on the car, he ordered the wrong one. Major upset. Especially after dealing with no car for months and all the annoyance in dealing with Dan's during that time I tried to be positive. Mind you I did pay out of pocket a fair amount of cash. All and all including the damages that insurance covered the work was in the $8k+ range. We also realize that the rear bumper is also wrong because the 2 cut outs where the exhaust would come out were in the center of the bumper. I will say I had no specifics when ordering other than it fit a dual exhaust with 2 tips on either side. But, I also believe it was an extremely easy problem to avoid because the particular set of bumpers he ordered are M3 replica bumpers. M3s have a very centered exhaust set up. Its an easy thing to miss but at the same time its kind of an obvious thing. Especially being an autobody shop. So, the only alternative was to get my old bumper from Dan's and cut it to fit my new exhaust. In the coming weeks my car started to unravel. The extremely amateur caliber of work started to show. After the exhaust situation eating another week of my time I finally got to drive my car home. I make it not even a mile down the road and my skid plate comes half off, gets dragged under my car ultimately destroying it. A few days later massive bubbles started to appear on the new trunk paint. Another week or 2 later I notice a big bubble on the front bumper which eventually has flaked off now. Missing clips that hold my front fender liners in place. All they did was tuck the liner into the bumper by hand causing them to constantly pop out and rub my tires absolutely shredding the driver side liner causing a giant hole. Missing clips on the side skirts causing them to flop around when I drive. A nice chip in the paint next to the trunk. Obvious tape lines. Wax everywhere from a bad polish job. Missing front license plate bracket (which got replaced WELL OVER A MONTH later) and a collapsible baton that went missing. Fog lights on the bumper that aren't hooked up so every time I drive I have a dash warning light on. Absolutely no compensation or offer to replace the wrong front bumper or take care of that in any form. The only thing I was offered was to order a new rear bumper which I would have to pay for and he'll address the bubbles. As if I'm really going to give you more money after all that. Good joke. I don't enjoy bashing people's livelihoods but, after losing thousands of dollars over trash work I think this review was long overdue. read more

This is my first time at Dan's. I had an accident where I hit the side of my garage. ( I know, I know) I had to pay out of pocket for the repair. I could not believe the wonderful service from beginning to end. They arranged a rental car for me which was so convenient. I couldn't believe how reasonable the quote was from Dan. He also got a used bumper in the next day which saved me money and time. I got mt SUV back in 3 days. When I saw the work that was done I couldn't believe it! It looked brand new. Allthough the woman at the front desk is very nice and a sweetheart. The owner is a real tool. He has no respect and some half ass customer service. He told me he could install my HID lights so i trusted him to do it and two days after doing it one went out. He blamed it on the manufacturer product and did it again and two days later same thing. So i had to force him to give me a refund and he couldnt even come down to apologize to my face after having me driving with a light out and risking tickets for 2weeks. This place is a real shitshow.
