My car was rear-ended in a minor accident, and when my insurance company gave me a list of places I could take it for repair, HTAB was at the top of the list and I picked them due to their being within an easy 10 minute drive from home, plus their stellar Yelp reviews. Sometimes businesses with high Yelp ratings disappoint, leading one to hypothesize that they must've paid some "reputation management" outfit to inflate their numbers through the use of shill reviews by AI-generated sock-puppet accounts. (Yelp tries to combat that but there's only so much they can do given today's scale of shady internet shenanigans.) Well this is one place that totally does deserve all its glowing feedback! This place turns out to be an owner-operated business, and I dealt directly with the owner who was a both very knowledgeable and relatable young man, I'm guessing in his mid 30s tops. The other two employees I interacted with were similarly very pleasant and helpful folks...none of the gruff or sullen vibes you often encounter from service workers in this region. When I told them that I would be going out of town in a few days, they expedited the work so that my car would be ready just in time---and most impressively, they kept me updated on its status (via both text messaging and email) nearly every day until I came back to pick it up! Not only was the work done flawlessly making the car look brand new, but they even gave it a free car wash AND full interior detailing! (It had been covered in road salt/grime from a recent snowstorm and I had not vacuumed the inside for almost a year, lol---so they got their money's worth from whatever car wash place they must've taken it to, lol.) I only wish EVERY business could be as damn near perfect as these folks, let alone car-related businesses! Can't recommend them enough, and would definitely go back if, gods forbid, I got into another accident again. read more

Had our car fixed here through insurance after a rear end. Overall good experience with scheduling an appointment, we received a prompt estimate. The repair took longer than expected but there was good communication from the shop regarding the timeline and need for additional materials to be shipped in. The car was returned clean. We did have an issue at the conclusion of the repair, we got home and there was a part that was not fully screwed in on the bottom of the car. We had to find another time to go to the shop to get this fixed - which took some extra time and would have been nice to have some acknowledgement about this from the crew. I was the unfortunate victim of a rear ending which required my bumper be replaced, a fix for my trunk door had to be done, and some undercarriage work had to be done on my 2015 Honda CRV. The insurance company sent me to Hi Tech and they were professional, kind and courteous from the get go. All of the work was completed and meticulously so, and when I picked up the vehicle you would have sworn it was brand new. The body work was outstanding and the car drove like I had driven off the sales lot the first time ever. It looked like they had even detailed the interior of the car as well. Very very bad experience. I took my Honda odyssey for repair about two weeks ago. The day before July 4th, I was told the job is done and called me to pick my car. When I went to pick it up, the job was done very very poorly and one side of the bumper that is replaced sticks out. Honestly with out exaggerating, My daughter will do a better job. So I complained and told them I can't take it like that and they said okay we will fix it. It was July 4th holiday week end and I didn't expect them to finish it by Friday. So o e othe representatives called me Monday the car is ready and told him I will pick it up Tuesday morning. Then that night, I got a text saying there is a delay and it is not done yet. So I called the next morning and asked what the issue was and was told the sensors wasn't done (they were about to give me like that 3 days ago). Any ways I took the car out on Thursday went home and I got flat tires. How irony. So I called to just to let them know how unhappy I was with the whole experience, and the guys who answered is very very unprofessional, rude, arrogant and condescending. I had my car repaired at Hi-Tech Auto Body. My Chevy 2014 has a touch screen radio. I used the radio on my way to the shop. The touch screen worked fine, radio worked and the time was correct When I got the car back, the touch screen no longer worked, the radio no longer was stuck on an loud station and the time was wrong. I took the car. They looked it over and said "Not our problem", the accident didn't break the radio so they were not liable. When I explained that the accident didn't damage radio but they must have damaged it. I emialed the company owner to ask for their insurances company, They refused to give it to me. The test of a good body shop is how a paint job holds up over the years. Well, I can honestly say that Hi Tech fails abysmally in that respect. After a few years, chips in the paint started to appear on the front bumper cover and fender, something that shouldn't happen (see pics). I also fault them for a pretty egregious painting mistake: not prepping the fender properly so that the finish surface has a rise / bump in it (see other pic). I didn't notice this at first--they really push you to sign off on the paperwork when you pick it up. When I called back with other complaints (the fender liner was on incorrectly) they reluctantly fixed them, but treated me like persona-non-grata. The only thing they did right was color match--which is why I gave them 2 stars not one. But now I'm stuck with having to repaint these parts at my expense! Thanks Hi Tech! Oh, and I forgot to mention their final bill was TWICE the estimate, and they ended up doing less work. read more

I have not had a car repaired at Hi Tech, so I can't comment on that, but I had a great experience. My motorcycle fell off the side stand and tipped over on the side case. The hard plastic around the mounting point cracked and I was afraid to use it, afraid it might fall off. That luggage is not only insanely expensive, but also discontinued and unavailable. If I couldn't get it repaired, I was out of luck. I went to Hi Tech half expecting them to tell me to get lost and say "Too small a job" or "We only work on cars." But owner Danny took it himself and said his tech could plastic-weld it and fix it. After that, my mother unexpectedly and suddenly died and it was a long time before I could come in to pick it up. (I didn't tell anyone at Hi Tech about that, so that didn't affect how they treated me.) When I went today to get the side case, it was repaired like new, better than I thought possible. And then Danny walked in and said, "Ah, it didn't take my guy long to do it. No charge." What an unexpectedly great experience at a time when I was going through so much negative stuff. read more

Whoa....it's all I can say: Just whoa. What an amazing job Hi Tech did on my 2018 MINI Countryman. I stupidly backed into a tree when I overshot a parking area and decided it was better to back down the driveway instead of turn around. My MINI dealer referred me to Hi Tech and I was thrilled. They did an amazing job on replacing the rear quarter panel, fixed all the necessary issues with the smashed tail light unit and surrounding moulding, and they even redid the protective wrapping on my bumper just because they wanted to make sure the car looked perfect. I think it left Hi Tech in better shape than it left the showroom floor! (Just a heads-up: They don't have loaner cars, so if you really, really need your wheels, just account for that.) read more

I bring my car here for all my car maintenance needs. Recently brought it in the last days of November due to a collision that was paid for by insurance. The insurance dragged their feet but once they got approval to move forward with repairs they had it done in less than 72 hours. I am so very happy with the way my Mini was fixed at Hi-Tech Auto Body! I was in a car accident recently and the passenger side door was completely bent. On a different occasion, I backed up into my house (sounds worse than it looked), so the back of my car had a dent too. When I picked up my car this morning, I had to blink twice to make sure it was my car. It looked like it was brand new all shiny and made up. You can't tell it was in an accident. They also fixed a problem it had with the window even though I didn't tell them to, which was an added bonus. They worked with my insurance company and my bill was $0. Awesome! This company is one of the most professional, honest, friendly and top-quality companies I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. I was referred to HiTech by a friend who works in the automotive repair (engine, etc) space dealing specifically with BMW's & Jaguars. After I found a vertical dent in the body-line of my rear passenger door of my X5 my, I reached out to my friend for a referral because I was in need of a body shop to fix the damage - it was too severe for a dent repair company. My buddy said that after 10 years or so trying different body shops all over Boston and beyond, he finally found one that provided EXCEPTIONAL work and one that was trustworthy - a very rare combo these days. He asked I call HighTech and it's the best advice I've ever gotten when dealing with an automotive issue. I took my X5 in for the team at HighTech to take a look. After 10 minutes or so, I was given a quote and set a time to drop my car off for the day. The day arrived and after giving the HiTech team my keys, they made certain that I had transportation back into the city for work. Who does that? When I came back to get my car I was truly amazed with the quality of work they had accomplished fixing the dent. They matched the paint EXACTLY to the rest of my car - this was a concern because they would be painting the whole door and my car is a rare Platinum Grey color. My car was washed and even vacuumed (I tipped extra)! The entire experience was outstanding. If you're in need of auto bodywork I highly recommend the crew at HighTech. I've now used Hi-Tech for fairly minor body work on my car 4 times over 10 years, and they have done a flawless job every time. I would say that they verge on perfectionism - when I came in looking to get a job done cheaply, they persuaded me I wouldn't be happy with the result unless they did it right. They work efficiently with insurance companies, and on the most recent occasion got the work done 2 days earlier than promised. The only reason I won't give 5 stars is that I don't think they are all that cheap. But I feel like I get excellent work for the price. read more

Yelp was so right: these guys are amazing. I took my 328i that had a slight fender ding, and they very professionally fixed that and took care of other dings in the car. Throughout the process, they were very friendly, guided me through the process with insurance, and when I went to pick up the car, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw how good of a job they did. The car appears flawless, with no issues of color matching nor any signs that the car had been worked on. i highly highly recommend hi-tech auto body. i can't say enough good things about them. they did a lot of work on my car after one of the winter storms caused damage, and i am IMPRESSED! not only is the quality of their work absolutely wonderful, held to a high standard, done incredibly thoroughly, but their communication is equally as good. they were great at keeping me updated throughout the process, sharing their information regarding the (national) supply shortage, did their best to advocate to get my car insurance to approve alternative parts than what was suggested, and helped me appeal to get my rental car covered. they are patient, kind, very collaborative, and i have lived in this area for over ten years and not come across a body shop like this before. not to mention, they were very short-staffed (down a receptionist & mechanic) while they had my car, and they did not let that impact my repair or their response times. ten out of ten would use them again if i need work done on my car in the future read more

Once again, Hi Tech blew me away with their outstanding service. Daniel goes above and beyond to make the customer happy and experience very little inconvenience (it's hard for me to part with my car, even for a day.) The work was great and finished earlier than expected. Free transportation to and from Hi Tech really is ultra convenient and helped me to decide not to add the expense of a rental car (was able to work from home.) As advised, I brought my car in on a Monday. Stood around the office while one person worked and the others chatted. Although I did the whole data gathering thing when I made the appointment, there was no record of it and we needed to go through the whole thing again. Total ZERO recall by staff; apparently, one does not need an appointment, because they took my car in anyways. I was promised the car that Wednesday. Had to call them several times to see when the car would be ready, each time I was told, it would be ready the next day. Finally they said they were waiting on a part from the OUTER REACHES OF SUDBURY, MA. Evidentially, Sudbury is practically at the end of the earth. They end up having my car 10 days to do four hours' worth of work. Then when I get there, there is more standing around (for me and the staff) while one person is busy doing something else. I mention I am here to pick up my car; I hear "oh the boss has left...let me see...what are you looking for?" Finally, the paperwork is rounded up, I depart with a wad-o-cash and I head to my car. The license plate is hanging by a thin thread; the engine bonnet is left unlatched, there is some milky colored scum all over the back bumper and sides of the car. I find out later that some genius could not figure out how to re-install the license plate to the bracket, so they glued the nuts to the bracket. I almost lost my license plate for a second time. All in all, I am just happy I noticed the engine bonnet before I drove home and not tragically during the drive! AVOID LARRY, MOE & CURLY! read more

They seems to mostly handle insurance repair. I went there without insurance and they still applied the same fraudulent billing practices. The job was to install on a Mercedes GL450: - Running board - Right mirror - Lower shield front and back I provided all the pieces including any materials needed. Their official hourly rate is 45/hr, but really, they multiply the time by 2 or 2.5 times. Also, they multiply the total time by 12/hr for body supplies... which of course didn't make sense for that job, but the seller was still feeling good about it. So mainly, their real hourly rate is clearly and way above $100/hr. The seller, David Cooper, gave false information many times. I'm not going to list all of them here. I went there because they clearly often do work on Mercedes, but the only think relevant they had to do specific to Mercedes for me was to install the right mirror but they didn't install it correct, and David told me: 'The motors move in 6 directions and 4 are not working'. I left from there and went directly to the Mercedes dealership because the motor were moving in all directions. However, the new parts they installed were not well installed. Also Mercedes write down the following on paper about these new parts they just installed correctly: "Adjusted outside mirror glass so that it will fully adjust in and out. The housing of the mirror has a few clips broken and the harness has already been repaired. If customer wants it perfect they will have to replace the whole assembly." The whole assembly was new before Hi Tech try to install it. So, mainly Hi Tech broke new parts, was not able to install them correctly, then Mercedes fixed the problem, without replacing any parts, and for free! Hi Tech wash cars for free after services, that's a positive I guess, but mine was not dry when they did my car and not that clean. read more

I have since had to replace the catalytic converter which two independent mechanics told me was the result of a front-end collision occuring before I bought the car from Hi Tech. Hi Tech looked me in the eyes on and told me that there had been no mechanical damage to the car on multiple occasions. This ran me well over $1,000. I also had to re-do the brakes at around 50,000 mi. Please do yourself a favor and do not buy a car from these folks, buy pre-owned certified at the minimum. read more

Fortunately, I have not had to go to Hi-Tech Auto Body to get my car fixed for a number of years, but when I got rear-ended a couple of times many years ago, plus on another occasion when another driver damaged one of my side-view mirrors, I had some very good luck with Hi-Tech Auto Body. My 2008 BMW was recently hit in the rear ( by someone who turned out to be the kindest of men--- a semi retired minister). A friend of mine had some good experiences with the bodywork done at Hi Tech on her beloved mini. In each case the repair was stress free and the car returned in tip top condition.: So, when it was my turn I decided to just go where my friend went and see Armin (Herman) @ Hi Tech. He provided a quote on the spot and accommodated me right away. 24 hours later my rear bumper--no, actually my entire car looked new. *Someone did something extra here and detailed the inside and outside too:) I really appreciated that. Maybe I should also note that my car is silver. Some time ago a read the silver is one of the hardest colors to match. In the case of my repair the paint color match is EXACT. Beautiful work!
