I have used Somerville Auto Center several times during the past few years for both of our cars. The worst accident was from a tree limb crushing the roof to a small bumper crush (most recent). In every case the quality of their work is outstanding! Their service is spectacular! Both Julio and Stanley have a great rapport with their customers and completely handle the claim with the insurance company, rentals, etc. They are delightful...and always put the customer first...and that, in itself, is refreshing. Their shop is very clean and organized. Their prices are competitive, for sure. It is strange, but, although having a car accident is normally a downer..I look forward to my experience with Somerville Auto Center. SAC repaired some non-insurance covered body damage and not only did their excellent work end up costing less than the initial estimate, they detailed the entire car inside and out so when I picked it up it looked like it just came from the dealer's showroom. I had an amazing experience with Julio at Somerville Auto Center! My lease was coming due and I had a LOT of accumulated damage from 3 years of street parking in the city. I didn't want to put multiple claims through insurance at once, so I paid out of pocket for some of the damage. Even so, the price was very reasonable compared to other estimates I had gotten, and they navigated all the insurance details for me. I would probably give this 3.5 stars if I could. I picked Somerville Auto Center because of the wonderful reviews and the service was almost great, but missed the mark. First, the pros: - They agreed to evaluate our bumper damage next day and gave us a punctual (and I believe fair) quote - Very friendly service in person - They detail your car so you pick it up very clean, which is just a nice treat Now, the cons: - After taking our deposit they said they would call when the parts were in - a few weeks went by and no call, so I called them and they said the parts already had arrived. Great! But not sure how long it would have taken for them to get in touch if I hadn't called - Initially was told they'd be able to get it done in one day, but when we dropped it off on a Friday they said it would take multiple days. Okay, fine, but I wouldn't have planned on a Friday if I knew they would have it all weekend. On Monday, called to see when it would be ready and they said maybe not until Tuesday. Partly not their fault since a fog light arrived broken, but again, just not a lot of proactive communication and 4 days is a long time to not have a car you thought you'd dropped off for 1 day. - After picking up our car and getting home, noticed that there is a scratch on our brand new bumper. Yes, I should have checked more carefully before driving away, but disappointing. The car is not otherwise in pristine condition and having just given up our car for 4 days, probably not worth getting it fixed, but annoying to say the least. Before seeing the scratch, I would have given them another chance. Now I will probably seek services elsewhere next time I'm in need. read more

I really can't say anything bad about this place. I had an unfortunate incident, and the repairs took a little bit longer than expected. The people at Somerville Auto Center recognized the delay, and made extra efforts to make sure I was accommodated. In lieu of giving me a car back that wasn't quite finished, they took the extra steps to make sure the repair was done correctly. I dropped my car off on a Monday morning and picked it up that following Saturday morning. The end result was as if the collision never happened. I haven't written a yelp review in years, but I am coming out of retirement to talk about Somerville Auto Center. My very first brand-new car was hit, and I was nervous about the whole process of getting it fixed. From filling the claim to picking up my car, it could not have been easier. But this is not a review for car insurance, so I'll skip ahead to the body work. -- After looking at the damage, Julio said it would take about two weeks to fix. Even with two snowstorms delaying shipments and piling on other work, they were finished right on time. --When I dropped off my car, they had a rep from Hertz waiting for me. (The gentlemen at Hertz were also great, but that's a review for another day.) -- When I picked up my car, I gasped at how flawless my car was. They even buffed out some unrelated scratches. They also filled my gas tank! I've heard horror stories about body shops, but they were honest, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure I understood the whole process. I hope I never have to go back but if something happens, they will be the first ones I call. read more

Had a small crack in my bumper that slowly splintered out into the underlining splash guard, weather shield, and wheel wells. Decided to finally bite the bullet and get it fixed. Somerville Auto Center was very friendly and professional. Along with replacing my bumper, they also detailed my car and washed it. When I went to pick up my car I felt like I was looking at a new car. They made what is typically a painful/expensive experience and turned it into a pleasant one! I never thought I'd be writing a review for my experience with a body shop, but these guys are truly impressive on every level. First, let's start with the fact that they are honest - a value you can't overstate the importance of in the car repair industry. They gave me a very competitive quote up front and stuck to it. Second, they are reliable. They take the time to explain the entire process and give you all the information you need throughout the estimate process without giving you any pressure. If you decide to go with them, they actually return phone calls and are responsive when you have questions. Third, they get the job done well and just as promised the first time. I had a pretty substantial dent on my driver's side door with a deep scratch down to the metal. They made it look like it never even happened. Every estimate I got told me how difficult the paint job on my car would be to match, but these guys nailed it. They even fixed some scratches on my driver's side mirror that I don't even think was on the estimate! Amazing! Fourth, the owner of the shop is extremely trustworthy and went out of his way to give me a ride home on the rainy day that I dropped off my car to their shop. I didn't even ask! I mean who does that? The guy is super friendly to boot and you can totally tell that he's honest in all of his dealings. In sum, I'd highly recommend these guys. I'm so impressed with their body work that I've decided to take my car back to them for routine work and repairs. It's hard to find good, trustworthy mechanics. Update: I'd love to use them again...if they would ever call me back.. I tried to get a quote for my cars rear bumper, rear quarter panel, left door ding. I showed up...couldn't get a quote because the adjuster was out, no problem there, they took photos and never called me back. Fine they're busy, when i went in there the first time they weren't as busy so I guess they just needed to acclimatize to the new environment. I called again a week after, still no reply; "He's out right now but I'll have him call you back". Fine I'll continue to wait, I wanted to give them a chance for a repeat customer. Called again a week after that, same damn story... Called JUST FOR THE BUMPER last week...same story "yea no problem we can take care of you, we will give you a call back with a quote" its been 4 days. Went to Canton Autobody and guess what, immediate service, no BS. I even referred my Bosses car for a respray here, I guess they're just too busy to care about repeat service. read more

I'm pleased with my recent experience with Somerville Auto Center. I called them up to see if they could look at my car, which had been abandoned in an East Boston hotel parking lot by my roommate with an unidentified 'over-heating problem.' They were very friendly and accommodating, and offered to send a tow-truck out to the car to save me the trip. They were very clear and straightforward explaining the diagnostics of the problem and didn't try to pressure me into making other costly repairs (which they could have--my car is old). They took extra measures to make sure the problem had been solved at no extra cost to me. I found everyone I interacted there to be very friendly and accommodating and honest! I was in a total bind this morning - woke up to a flat with a hole and AAA came, said they couldn't find the tools to get my spare out so they put air in my tire and told me to get to an auto shop ASAP. Found Somerville Auto Center on Yelp, and I was SO glad I did. I called in to let them know I was coming. After extensive research of local body shops I went over to Somerville Auto Center for an estimate to repaint the passenger side of my Acura TL due to an accident. The price was TOO reasonable I didn't expect it to be outstanding but I was wrong.
