A year ago I scraped my passenger side in an alley in Chicago. I knew that Gerry would give me a proper appraisal on what my car needed at the most reasonable price! I was right. I dropped my car off on a Friday and was able to pick it up on a Tuesday. I had a whole new door, paint matched my car, and it was completely vacuumed and scrubbed clean, amazing! I did not know much about 3A Auto Body other than it was on a list provided by my insurance company. When i first stopped by he told me exactly what the process would be and he would contact my insurance company to have the check sent directly to him, which was much easier since I still had a loan on the car. He also provided me the contact information for a discounted rate to rent a car. The parts were ordered in advance in order to decrease the "down time". I dropped the car off and he called me a day later saying there were a few additional items that were needed and he had already contacted the appraiser. When I picked up my car it had been washed and cleaned in and out. It looked like it has just been delivered from the dealer! I was very impressed with Ed at 3A Auto Body. I had two claims with my insurance company and he dealt with them perfectly -- I never had to get involved at all. He took care of fixing my car and painting over half of it. It looks perfect. He told me how everything would work and didn't lowball how long it would take. He kept me posted as the work progressed so I would know how my car was coming along. It's a family company and I love having him in the community. I was hit a couple of weeks ago. 3A Auto Body is approved by my insurance company to provide estimates without a separate adjuster needing to be sent out from the insurance company, which made that process extremely easy. I got my car in Thursday morning for body work, had it back by Friday afternoon and it looks amazing. Their attention to detail is astounding and they even made the interior of the car look better than when I bought it! I could not be happier with how they worked with my insurance company and the rental company, and the repairs they made. Courtney at the front desk is awesome too; a friendly face and made sure I was always in the know. Had some rust repair done here. $600 to fix a quarter size spot. It looked good, until less than two weeks later it started to come back. Now four months later the paint is bubbled and is completely back... worse than before. Was told that they would try to fix it again "the right way", but at an additional cost. I approached 3A autobody based on the list in my insurance and yelp reviews. Great service and Ed also gave me suggestions on rental replacements. Ed explained me in detail as to what work needed to be done and how to coordinate. He worked with me on the timeline and updated the car rental company as and when there were extensions required. Wife went there for an estimate. Was given two options for a door repair; a backyard fix for $125 or do it the "right way" for $250. Very rude towards women when questioned on how the repair would be made. Avoid this place unless want to be treated like crap and get a redneck repair. read more

This was my first encounter with Ed (and I know I run the risk of sounding sensationally biased, but this is the honest to God truth). There are truly not enough stars on this site to describe the level of service I received from Ed at 3A Auto Body. I have never met a more accommodating human being in the business world than this guy; when I called and explained my situation his first words were "I hope that you are okay. Do you need help with a rental?" My accident was the fault of the other driver, so my insurance covered a rental from the company down the street; but I got the sense that if I were having issues with my insurance, he would have gone above and beyond for me. My adjuster wanted 'repairs' made to my badly damaged door. Ed fought with my insurance company to get more $ for an actual replacement door (and won!) so my car would look brand new (without even being prompted by me to do so). He then explained that it may take until Friday or Monday to finish the repairs since they now had to order the parts after the argument with my insurance company. This was going to be an issue as I would be out of town from Thursday-Thursday; so Ed says 'let me see what we can do'. What did he do? My car was ready that Wednesday (the day before I had to leave). Thanks to Ed's understanding of my situation and constant communication (called me every single time he had an update on my car), I was able to avoid having to pay for my rental out of pocket for close to a week ($220!). The best part is that before I came to pick it up he said, "Oh, we also fixed the other 2 dents on your car {unrelated to the accident/claim being paid for}, and cleaned the inside for you." How much did he charge me for it? Nothing. My car was sparkling inside and out when I picked it up; probably twice as good as it looked before the accident. The constant communication kept me at ease, the added free services were unexpected, the genuine understanding of my situation was refreshing, and the end product was perfect. read more
