The employee pictured immediately yelled, "Hey, What are you doing here?" I replied that I was there for a state inspection. He responded very rudely, saying, "We don't do inspections until 8:00 a.m." I calmly and politely explained that I was unaware because there was no signage indicating that inspections began at 8:00 a.m. He replied, "That's not my problem. I've been working here for 10 years, and this shop, like every other shop, doesn't do inspections until 8:00 a.m." His entire demeanor was confrontational, and he treated me as though I was trespassing simply for asking about an inspection. I explained that I had been coming to this location for the past two years and had never been treated this way before. At that point, another male customer walked over, and the pictured employee's attitude immediately changed. He then turned back to me and said, "Move your car outta here," while shooing me away as if I were a dog. As I was getting back into my car, he continued talking about me to the other customer, making comments that caused the customer to look at me as though I had created a disturbance. The entire interaction was humiliating, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. . The entire interaction was demeaning, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. My vehicle's camera captured the encounter, although unfortunately it did not record the audio. Every paying customer deserves to be treated with courtesy and respect. I left feeling singled out because of the way I was treated. While I can't know the employee's motivation, the interaction left me with the impression that I was treated differently as an African American woman.

I brought my '05 Volkswagen in for some cosmetic work on the front bumper and fender. Tony quoted a price below what I'd gotten elsewhere and also pointed out a few other cosmetic details that he would fix on the house. When I picked the car up a few days later, it looked practically new--not bad for a 16-year-old car! In addition to doing great work, Tony's just a likable guy. The kind of person you're happy to do business with. Thanks, Tony! I'll definitely be back the next time my car needs body work.

However, this morning, I was reminded that even in one of the most progressive states in this country, sexism still exists. I went to Southie Auto Service because my exhaust had been making a loud noise for weeks, and my car had failed the Massachusetts inspection over the weekend. When I arrived at the shop, I briefly explained the situation, and they offered to take a look at my car. As I was walking toward the car with one of the men who works at the shop, I wanted to tell him that he would be able to hear the noise when the car started. However, in the middle of my sentence, he put his hand over his mouth and said, "Shh." I know I looked shocked, and he then proceeded to say that he would be able to hear the noise himself. Regardless of what he thought he could do, you never ask a customer to shut up. He drove the car onto the lift and confirmed that the exhaust had a hole in it, which, of course, was no surprise to me because the people at the Massachusetts inspection station had already suggested this. However, he missed this piece of information by asking me to stop talking. When the car was on the lift, this man told me that I could now talk. I told him that no one had ever asked me to shut up before, and he was offended by my comment. He said that doing so would be rude and that all he had done was ask me to stop talking. This is what some men do not understand. Asking a woman to stop talking, in any way or form, is essentially the same as asking her to shut up and not express herself. Then he proceeded to tell me that if I did not like it, I could take my car somewhere else. I told him that I might, and he immediately asked the other mechanic to bring the car down because I was going to take the car. I took my car to another nearby shop, and the man who helped me was a complete gentleman. I would not recommend Southie Auto Service. No customer should have to tolerate this kind of condescending behavior simply because they are a woman seeking help with her car.

It's found at the end of Ipswich Street, where all of the restaurants, bars and music clubs are located, so it's super convenient if you want to hang a bit after an event or game. *Also, many streets in the area close down for a game, but this remains open, so no fear of your car getting locked in for any amount of time. Besides this lot being a lower price, I also felt my car was safer here. Other lots were tiny and the cars were haphazardly shoved in there. Having a brand new car, I wasn't taking a chance on scratching it, which seemed much more probable in the other spaces. This is an actually covered garage with a ticket booth, not just a man hanging out. Credit and debit accepted. There's a safe deck area where you can wait for your car which was nice while having kids in tow also. The only gripe I had was the multi level way they store the cars and how they're are let down pretty harshly from the lift. We witnessed one alarm even go off from the impact. Luckily, we didn't have this issue as ours was left on ground. If you choose to park here, I would personally just ask to be left on the bottom if possible. Overall, no issues with our car and we would definitely park in this lot again for any event at Fenway!

There were no tire shops open, and even the car dealerships were closed and inaccessible. My insurance roadside assistance had no choice but to tow my car back to the apartment where I was staying in Quincy. I assumed I'd have to wait until the next morning, have my car towed again to a dealership, and pay a fortune for the repair. Thankfully, my husband searched online and found On The Way Express. What an incredible find! They responded immediately and came directly to me that same night. Within about 10-15 minutes, my flat tire was repaired, and I didn't have to deal with another tow or wait until morning. Not only was the service incredibly fast, but it was also far more affordable than what I would have paid at a dealership. What impressed me the most, though, was how safe and comfortable they made me feel. It was late, very dark, and I was alone in an unfamiliar place. The mechanic was so kind, respectful, and comforting from the moment he arrived. He explained the repair process, taught me a few things about tires, and made sure I felt completely at ease. It's rare to find a company that combines speed, affordability, expertise, and genuine care for its customers. They turned what could have been an expensive, stressful ordeal into a quick and positive experience. If you're ever stranded in the Boston or Quincy area, don't hesitate to call On The Way Express. They truly went above and beyond, and I couldn't be more grateful! The BEST!

I care more about someone being trustworthy, polite, and at least somewhat competent. As well as saving my money and not getting ripped off like I have been when I got my car repaired at dealerships. My car wheels started making weird noises after I got into an accident and needed to make a cross-country move. Fran identified the issue and fixed it. He was also willing to honestly educate me and explain the issue without acting like a shady businessman that lies by omission. My car has not had issues for the past several months thanks to Fran's diagnosis and the work of his employees. This review would've been a five star if I didn't have to deal with his son on the phone. His son called my cell phone number multiple times to tell me that my car was fixed and hung up immediately before I could ask questions to verify. I traveled twice only to find out that the son mistook someone else's car for mine just because it was the same make and color as mine. Fran recalled which car was my car because he could tell me what state my license plate was from. Thankfully Boston is easy to traverse thanks to the public transportation, otherwise I'd be even angrier for having my energy wasted for a car that wasn't even mine.
