They were careful in handling all my items: Neither were my items nor the properties moving out of or into damaged. Excellent communication between the moving crew and from his office. Arrived on time and worked efficiently. Danny was referred by a local high-end Realtor and after my move I completely understand why. I went with Danny the Mover after they were highly recommended by family and was very disappointed. It took 5 hours for three guys to move a one bedroom apartment - I'm not sure how long it should have taken but if you're only moving one box at a time, it's not hard to figure out that you're stalling. Despite telling them that I lived in Capitol Hill and there was a loading area that could fit a garbage truck, they still showed up with a 24 ft truck that we then had to figure out where to put (wouldn't fit down the alley.) Thankfully there were two restaurant "pickup" zones that we could use because the restaurant wasn't open yet. They moved my stuff but it cost a lot more than any other quotes I received and was not a smooth process. read more

They showed up early and the 2 helpers worked hard. That is where the positive ends. Contacted this company to help load some pods. We had packed everything and had the garage loaded with all boxes and items to make it easier. Paid more for 3 people so it would be done quicker. Danny spent the majority of time on his phone booking other clients and setting up doctors appointments for himself- so really on 2 working- very slow and working the clock. Had our 3 kids helping and the bad language was unreal. Pods were not packed properly and had items left that didn't fit. We had to readjust ourselves to make room. I would not recommend Danny the mover. 30 years experience means he knows how to work the system. read more

Really poor experience. My wife and I scheduled a very light move in a business we are opening, moving furniture from one room to another. The crew showed up with not enough guys to do the job and needed assistance from the construction crew working in the space. Their handling of the furniture was incredibly careless despite multiple requests to handle the fragile items with care. With help from our guys the job took roughly 30 minutes. My wife pointed out that paying the 2 hour minimum for a 30 minute job that they needed assistance to complete wasn't fair but instead of offering a discount she was rudely and aggressively coerced into paying the full amount. They were rude, went back on the amount agreed to with the nice lady on the phone, brought more people than agreed, shouted at us and we literally just agreed to pay whatever to get the move over with and because we were literally afraid of the guy. Will go with a reputable company the next time. Moving day for me is usually like a combination of a root canal, tax day and stepping on a rusty nail at the same time - all in all, a not-so-great day. Thank goodness for Danny the Mover! Fast, friendly, efficient service with a smile. I packed the smaller items and had them take care of the larger furniture, etc. They used pads and straps as appropriate and were respectful of my new home. Even with a 40 minute drive between the two homes, we were packed, moved and unpacked in under six hours. Thanks to their hard work, I now have the rest of the day to organize all of my belongings and enjoy my first afternoon in my new home. What could have easily been one of the worst days of the year was more like a party with a lot of exercise! Thanks for the laughs, smiles, early arrival and care you took with my possessions! Scheduling and communication on the front end was great. Danny and crew showed up on time. The move took longer than expected, but there were some tricky conditions (small doorways, old building, etc.). They got the job done as expected. The negative review is because Danny was verbally abusive and an all around jerk to his crew. In the hour that he was here, he called them "idiot", "moron", and yelled and them multiple times. Even if they were slower than he wanted them to be, they were working hard and deserved to be treated with respect. Not the kind of guy you feel comfortable having in your home. Danny and his crew do make moving seem fast and easy. They arrived slightly earlier than my scheduled appt. and were in good spirit. Both of them are easy to have a chat with. Danny exceeded my expectation of professionalism so in that sense I'd highly recommend his service. Ok, so why the 3 stars? At the time of payment, Danny however added another 0.2 hrs to my 2 hrs min. when I know for sure the entire journey from start to finish did not take 2 hrs. He did not fully give me a sound explanation as to why I have to pay 0.2 hrs more. While I thought his site indicated that no fees or additional charges should be involved, I decided to let it go. Despite that, I still gave Danny a tip. I mean, moving is tough work. Overall, I overpaid by $30 than budgeted. I'd caution you if budgeting is your thing but guess what, I'd still recommend this service if you want professional and reasonable services. read more

I called Danny last night, needing to move an enormous antique armoire this morning. Luckily, Danny and John were able to move the piece for me with 12 hours notice. They did an amazing job with a challenging move. It was nearly impossible to get a piece this size into my house, given the angles, but they managed it, and didn't give up when it got difficult. I was pleased with my whole experience with Danny the Mover and his crew. We moved from an apartment in Ballard into a home in Bellevue, and this is how it went. I called and left a quote request on their voicemail on a Sunday evening. I got an immediate text response from Danny's wife, who was watching grandchildren, getting all the details and offering me a slot in their schedule. Done. The day before the move, I received a confirmation text from Danny's wife again. Morning of the move, Danny called and offered to arrive 20 mins early if we wished. I wasn't ready, so he took his employee for coffee and breakfast, I believe. For the move itself, Danny was very polite to his crew of one guy, and they were quite efficient. They used dollies and brought their own padding and bungee cords and tape to help me with stuff I hadn't packed well. They professionally took apart my impossible bed and packed it in a careful way so that nothing was scratched or bent. On the other side, they worked in the pouring rain, selecting things they could dash through the raindrops with but saving delicate items for after the rain stopped. They were careful to lay down carpet and floor protectors where needed and reassembled my impossible bed for me. After the move, Danny told me he does moves of equipment/offices, as well as storage, dump, and furniture pickup/delivery runs as well. Full service. I will absolutely use him again. Danny and Charles were GREAT. They showed up on time, and helped us move our stuff in an incredibly efficient manner. They were very careful with our goods. And nothing was damaged in the move. They made great use of the elevator, and defied physics to get our entertainment unit inside and up to the third floor. Next time we move, we will absolutely be calling them again. No question. Danny helped me move an antique roll top desk that weighed about 200 pounds. He did so with great skill, courtesy, and sense of humor. I had hired previous movers who actually turned down this job because it was too difficult. I only wish I was a nomad so that I can hire him regularly. Danny and John helped us move to our new apartment. They managed to get our giant couch into our tiny apartment, which I had assumed was going to be physically impossible. Overall, the guys were really cool and friendly. The only disappointment I had was the lady on the phone told me it would only take 2 hours (and another one for driving) to move everything and it would probably take even less because we had moved most of the stuff ourselves. Imagine my disappointment when I was billed for two more hours at the end. However, when I ranted to an acquaintance, who works for a competing moving company, he explained to me that a two hour delay is entirely possible. Okay, sure, I can give the movers the benefit of the doubt, but if I consistently missed my estimates by 100% then I'd probably be fired. Though another thing did leave a sour taste in my mouth. I was told the company billed by the quarter hour. My watch showed 12:41 when I had checked it but I was being presented with a bill for the full hour. I was a little confused and thought, "Maybe their watch is a few minutes faster?" So I asked for the time. Danny pulled out his phone and squinted at it for a while before handing it to me. The digital display showed 12:46. Was he purposely delaying? Most likely not. Was the time before 12:44 when he was filling out the bill? I have no idea. Am I being cheap by complaining about 20 bucks? Yes, yes I am. But I would happily have tipped more than another 20 had they not charged me for last 15 minutes. Instead, I ended up feeling pretty uncomfortable about the whole exchange. Lastly, I should have checked the filtered reviews before picking a moving company. If you look at histories of all of the negative and positive reviews then...well you can infer for yourself what it means when someone creates a yelp account to write a single review for a moving company and then disabling it. In conclusion, I ended up cutting a check for 500 (5 hours * 80 + tax + tip) to move one bedroom's worth of furniture from Downtown Bellevue to...a few blocks east of Downtown Bellevue. Am I delusional in thinking that I could have found a cheaper company? Maybe, but a lot of my co workers and friends have moved for less. read more

I must have picked the rainiest Saturday of them all to move, which meant I was extra thankful for Danny and John! They did a great job moving all of my stuff, including several pieces of large furniture, through the awkward corners of my new entryway. They were so friendly and worked tirelessly for hours, making this the smoothest move I've ever had. I was moving from South Lake Union to Lower Queen Anne, but they serve the entire metro area. Danny and his team helped us move our 2,000 sq ft house. They arrived on time and all 3 guys worked hard all day. Everything was well packed and taken care of. I really appreciated that Danny was actually on the job. There was a small miscommunication that we needed some packing done, in addition to our moving, and Danny had a great attitude about getting the job done. John, his right hand man, was also great and disassembling and reassembling our furniture. The 3rd guy did some complaining about the amount of stairs etc which irritated me, but he worked hard too. I also thought we were paying a higher rate, and when I mentioned it to Danny he was honest and gave me their normal lower rate. He could have very easily billed me the much higher rate and I would not have known any different. That's what made this a 5 star review. I would hire Danny the Mover again, for sure! read more

Had everything loaded and ready to go in no time. Managed the ferry and move in with no problems. From the moment Danny was on site he took charge and made sure everything went smoothly. Danny and his team were awesome!! We just moved yesterday and what should have been more of a nightmare, wasn't at all thanks to Danny! We have moved 3 times in the last 2 years and Danny made this move the easiest and most efficient, clean move yet. Danny was great! They were super quick, efficient, kept my stuff in good condition. They even battled with my sofa which took forever to wedge out of my old place. They even admitted and pointed out a side table that had come apart during the move, which I appreciate the pointed it out instead of letting me "find" it later. Really happy with the work. I finally decided that an incredibly time consuming, overly complicated move strategy was for the birds and I will never go back. Danny called when they were en route and arrived about 10 minutes early. They had tools to dismantle my bedframe (luckily- since I couldn't find the thing). They were super nice and efficient. As a head's up- I already knew companies charge travel time so wasn't surprised, but appreciated they were very clear about that when giving me an estimate. I also lucked out and got a winter rate but would have still be happy at the regular rate- they were that helpful. My boyfriend and I used Danny this weekend; we paid $375 for about a four-hour move (tip and tax included). We moved some large items from my parents' house and from our studio apartment, and unloaded them at our new house. They also moved a large table top from my parents' deck to the crawl space; a lot of movers would make a fuss over that extra job, since it wasn't on the inventory, but Danny didn't mind one bit. They also removed an old broken fridge from our new house and replaced it with our new one. Danny and his guy John were awesome. I've never seen anyone move a fridge so quickly. We had one item, a huge buffet dresser, that was tucked away in our crawl space with four-foot ceilings, and they got it out in about 30 seconds. They've clearly been in the business a long time, and they were very friendly and patient with us and with each other. Even at 8am they were both super chipper and enthusiastic. They could definitely afford to charge customers more than they do, they did such a great job... but I'm certainly glad they don't! They are very informal, outspoken, and loud, but we didn't mind. That's how we like our contractors. Not posh, very straight-forward, and they obviously enjoy their jobs. I called Danny the mover as I needed someone to move a piano. They did a great job and when it came time to move from my storage unit into my new house in Tacoma I decided to simply have them move all the furniture too. Again, it was easy and quick, even with the piano which is never simple. They were exactly on time and even finished a bit early. Yes, they charge for the time it takes to drive to you but their cost per hour is significantly less than other companies I've called so it really wasn't a big deal at all. If I could give zero stars I would. I wish I had read through these reviews prior to reaching out to Danny the Mover. I totally regret hiring him. I did so only because he came recommended by my husband's co-worker, who had used Danny on two different occasions. Our experience with Danny the Mover started out positively. The woman we dealt with in the beginning was responsive and pleasant. On moving day, Danny arrived on time with two other men and moved our apartment quickly. That's where our positive experience with Danny ended. In the process of moving he broke our beautiful desk and a couple of our plastic bins with holiday decor in them. He didn't use the plastic mattress cover that I provided him or any cover for that matter. We moved on a rainy Seattle day and one whole side of our mattress was rested on the ground. It was wet and filthy. When my husband called to speak with Danny regarding these issues, Danny got really defensive. He yelled and used expletives. He called my husband an F****** A****** and used one excuse after another. He said plastic bins break all the time. He denied breaking the desk and said that the plastic mattress cover wouldn't have fit anything inside of it. We have used the same mattress cover for all of our moves so he clearly lied. We thought it was only fair that he pay to have our mattress professionally cleaned and he refused. He said we could clean it ourselves. We paid Danny almost $800 to move our 1 bedroom apartment and even tipped him and the two men he brought with him. We didn't deserve to be treated this way. My husband felt very threatened by Danny when he spoke to him over the phone. After cursing out my husband, Danny hung up on him and then called back a minute later to apologize but wasn't willing to do anything to rectify the situation. As a business owner I can't imagine ever speaking to any of my customers the way Danny spoke to my husband. I'm not sure how this man can stay in business. After reading through other reviews, it's clear that other customers had similar experiences to ours. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable mover. I have used Danny the Mover twice now. The first time in February 2015 and then in March 2016. I really can't recommend him and his team enough. From the phone call to schedule, the text to confirm, they showed up even a little early and got going quickly. Really, it's an experienced and professional process from start to finish. Everything was handled with care and without error. Moving is stressful enough, but it's so worth it to hire him. We won't every do it again without giving Danny a call. Do call early though--I'd recommend about a month in advance if possible--as it does fill up schedule wise. We had to be flexible both times on our dates, which was totally fine. They were able to move a full 1 bedroom apartment in about 3-4 hours time total from the start at one location and the end at the other (about a 3 mile move). In sum, I don't think it gets better than Danny for movers in the Seattle area. read more

YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS. I hired this "professional" moving company because a few weeks ago I had emergency intestinal surgery and am still under doctors' orders to not lift anything. I booked this way in advance and used one of my few days a year off the day before to prepare for Danny. I was told Danny and his crew would be at my place no later than 3pm on moving day. I heard NOTHING until 4:30pm, when he called to say he still had 30 minutes of work to do and was over 30 minutes away. Moving companies are often late, so trust me, this isn't the core of the issue.... When I told Danny someone else had the loading dock at my new place reserved at 6, Danny did not suggest but literally demanded that I call my new place and try and move "first thing in the morning" the NEXT day (the day I had set aside to deep-clean my old place). "Call your apartment. Tell them you're moving first thing in the morning." I told him they didn't have a loading dock reservation the next day until noon. He muttered "oh my god" at me under his breath on the phone, had zero accountability, and even called his last client a "liar" for underestimating the size of THEIR move. I tried to reason with his secretary and she did offer a small apology but no one offered reasonable compensation for this insane snafu. At most I was told I could get "discounted drive time" (they charge you while they travel to and from you). I told her I would call U-Haul and try and work something else out last minute. She pawned me off on another moving company, saying she didn't have their number but to try them. THE DAY OF A MOVE. IN THE SUMMERTIME. AT 5PM?? Then Danny called me back at 5:30 to say that he was on his way... after the phone call RIGHT BEFORE when he told me we could not share elevators or loading docks with anyone else moving and tonight wasn't going to work. Now he's on his way???? I declined his "service." BECAUSE OF THIS COMPANY I had to move manually with one other person on the downtown streets over the course of 2 days (30 hours total), going totally against doctors orders and risking hernias and other complications to lift my possessions. I finished cleaning my old place at 2 in the morning Monday morning and went to work 4 hours later. I am in lots of pain today, but the worst part is the lack of ownership for the fluke. Why did I get attitude because THEY were late? I'm beyond disappointed. read more
