Daniel is always friendly and comes faster than he estimates which is great when you're waiting to get into your house. He's fast, efficient, and straightforward. When I got locked out twice in one week (after replacing a doorknob on my own with what turned out to be a faulty lock) he replaced the inside of the doorknob for me so I didn't have to get a whole new thing and copies of keys. Before he even arrived at my door or we met, Daniel was by far the kindest and utmost in customer service of the locksmiths I contacted. I annoyingly locked myself out on Saturday morning, so after hours for my property management company to agree to come help. My phone battery was dying and I was frustrated with the rough answers from others rattling off what city they were based in and the per hour a charge, instead of telling me as I asked: an estimate of how long it would take them to get to my location and transparent estimated cost. Daniel said he would be there within ten minutes - and he was, precisely - and the exact cost for the two doors. Then he kindly suggested I call around for a neighbor to let me in so that he could save me the trouble and cost of the second door. He easily could have charged me for that rather than being honest, and later apologized that he quoted me just $5 more than the actual charge. I forgot to use the Yelp discount that I saw when I found him, but I don't mind paying a fair price for amazing customer service and his time. He actually had another appointment close to my emergency, but was so skilled and efficient that it was no problem. Still, I'm amazed he came out to help me given he had to be in San Francisco shortly. Daniel is a wonderful locksmith and a really great guy. He prefers to speak on the phone vs. email, and promptly responded to my email with his contact information and availability. We scheduled an appointment for the next day, he was on time, friendly, and even went to the nearby convenient store to pick up batteries once I realized the automatic deadbolt needed them and I was all out of AAs. I originally requested he rekey 4 locks and install an automatic deadbolt. He realized I was planning on waiting to rekey the 5th lock and offered to do it at no additional cost. He was done in under 90 minutes (including the run to the store for batteries!) and taught me how to add and delete codes from the automatic deadbolt. The cherry on top? This guy is a savior! Here's the story. I lost my bike key on my way home from work so I was unable to unlock my U-Lock and my bike was stuck! I was too tired to search for a locksmith so I left my bike, where it sat, overnight at West Oakland Bart (NOT recommend). Lo and behold, my bike was missing it's back wheel (sadness) by 8 AM the next morning. At this point I was frantically searching Google for a locksmith who would be willing to break my U-lock to release my bike. I gave Daniel a call and he agreed to meet me at West Oakland Bart. He arrived right on time and he was super professional. This guy has a full electric saw in the back of his van! He brought out the saw and cut through steel in under 5 minutes. After a shoddy install by contractors a couple years ago, we've been "pulling to lock," and "pushing to unlock" for some time... then last nite the lock cylinder literally fell out the front door when I closed the door. Needing a little protection and having failed at installing a new lock from Home Depot the night before, I decided to have the old lock rekeyed. I called several local spots and chose Daniel due to affordable price and his pleasant, professional phone manner. Coming promptly (he was in the vicinity, great luck!), I presented him with the other lock and asked if, for an increased price, he would trade it out. He did, but refused to up the price, even replacing one part and, much to my embarrassment, hewed out an area that I hadn't noticed was necessary (no wonder I couldn't get it done myself last night in the dark... duh!). Even with the extra work Daniel refused a "go out to dinner" $20. tip but I convinced him that was only fair. I hope he does because he deserved a treat. You. Guys. This fella is super! Got my locks rekeyed before moving in - was easy to make an appointment after work and he was prompt with a call when on the way. Not only did he do a great job but he gave some good advice and explained even tho something was loose there was no security risk so he could change if I wanted to look better but I didn't really need to. Cool guy. My boss had her house keys stolen from her car in a locked gated condominium complex last night and she is pretty sure she heard the person checking the lock on her front door in the middle of the night. Scared, she stayed home from work and found Daniel on Yelp. He came and needed a key to change the lock. She didn't have one and called me. Within 30 minutes we connected and after about another 30 he was in my car and had made a key. He de-stressed a very stressful situation!
