This was the first time visiting Dandana. The scenery inside is beautiful decorated with tile and marble tiles. The place is immaculate! Service was incredible. The waitress took our food order without writing it down and actually got it right! The food was fresh and delicious, but the bread was hard as it cooled. Great place to go for authentic Middle Eastern food. Compared to other Middle Eastern restaurants, Dandana's prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend you try it at least once. The service was bad here. They serve me and my friend two hookahs and they both turned out disgusting. We mentioned this to the waiter after waiting for a long time just to get his attention and when we did, he was not happy about our dissatisfaction as of it was our faults. He did not try to apologize for the bad service. He was giving attitude instead. We waited for another 10 minutes for answers if we can get the check and leave. The place only had 3 tables to serve so I was not clear to me why such bad service was provided. Also this wasn't my first time at this place. Seems like it's getting worse and worse. read more

I've always thought this place had decent food and awful service until i cam back after a year of not returning. when i came back recently i didn't eat but came more for a lounge experience with some coworkers. we had some beers and smoked some hookah. our server suggested that we tried the orange-mint flavor and it was definitely a winner. i tried really hard to remember our server's name but unfortunately i can't. she was tall, thin, with curly/wavy black hair and told me she was from southern lebanon. she was a great server and having a great server at this place was an awesome surprise. hopefully this wasn't a fluke and the service has changed and next time i'll be able to return and try the food as well as another hookah flavor =). read more

Very mediocre mediterranean food. The chicken was burnt, the hummus was too citrusy, the garlic paste was too bitter. In addition, the service was really bad. My wife and I ordered a small take-out order and I ended up waiting for 45 minutes. When I finally received the food, the portion size was small and they didn't even provide any napkins or utensils. Some of my experiences here have been a 5 and others have been a 3 so I averaged. First, all the food I've had here has been delicious! I usually for the vegetarian plate, and I've also had the chicken shawarma. The hummus is great! And the baba ganoush (they call it something else that starts with an "M", sorry I can't remember right now) is probably the best I've had!! I think the hookah is a little pricey ($12-15) and they put a limit on the number of people that can smoke one, to get you to buy more when you're with a group. BUT the tobacco is great and they are REALLY quick about watching your coals! Service is what gets a little spotty sometimes. I've never had a terrible experience, but some trips are definitely better than others, but never anything I would seriously complain about. Although I did notice less impressive service when we've gone in during the day and it seems like there is a bunch of family in there. And lastly, the seating. There is a banquet hall area, but the main room that you are in is a patio like room. The ceiling is completely covered (with really cool hookah lamps hanging) but there isn't much actually wall around the room. It's really nice during the summer when it is warm, but on colder evenings it can get a bit cold. They do have plastic sheeting type stuff covering the openings and plenty of ceiling heaters, but like I said it can be a little cool, especially if you aren't directly under a heater. read more

Okay...the first thing I have to say...their service is the absolute WORST I have ever experienced. Usually, even if the service is mediocre, I'll leave a good tip but this time, the only tip they got was the 42 cents of change that I didn't want to wait for. They RAN OUT OF BREAD! They gave us tortilla bread instead of pita bread. It's ridiculous and absolutely unacceptable. What kind of Middle Eastern restaurant has tortilla bread instead of pita bread? Last week was my first... and last visit to this place. I was surprised at how terrible the service was, except for the one dude, Bernard, he was cool. Our waitress was terribly rude and hardly ever came back to the table. The hookah situation became a little bit of a mess as well. I had to get mine replaced (which they wanted to charge me for) because it was terribly dirty and did not hit well because of all the leaks. A couple friends showed up later, were pretty much forced to order a hookah or leave, so they gave in and ordered. Did they ever receive it? Nope! This place will never see me around ever again. I've been coming here for years and noticed something...the service really isn't that great. I was here about a week ago, 20 minutes go by (as usual) and I'm just now am getting asked if I want water, so I did, and my server came back with the biggest smile on his face like he's about to get a cookie. I shouldn't have to ask for it, for any restaurant business that should be the first thing on our table. This sounds like an enormous rant about water but there's more. At times, most of the time actually, my coals will be empty and I'll try to make it obvious without being a jerk and yelling at them I'll tap on the top like I'm clearing it off as a subtle "HELLOOOO", and their sitting 3 tables away without looking up WITH NO ONE ELSE THERE. My friends and I like to come here for hookah... we're regulars. The hookah is good and the food is even better! My only problem is the new minimum that they require when you go there. We used to just go for hookah and relax, have a beer... yunno. Well, now we either get charged for the water (what?!) or we have to order food/drinks/etc. But it's worth it to me.
