Such a cute store. I have been to the one in San Francisco before and this one was opening near my boyfriend's house so we wanted to check it out. My boyfriend, his brother, and I went into the store and it was very organized by crowded because it was the grand opening. The store has many items ranging from toys to stationary to kitchen product to cosmetics. Most of the items are $1.50 and some (mostly the larger items) cost a little bit more money. This Daiso location is the best for bento products. Each Daiso has a different selection of items and this is the only one that has an entire bento aisle and then some. They have little silicone separators, cups and such for food, food writing tools, tons of cookie cutters and lots of assorted bento boxes. They also carry tons of cleaning and house products that I love, like garment bags (for your delicates in the laundry), swiffer-like cleaning cloths (not name brand, but you can get like 50 for $1.50!), and all sorts of organizing containers for drawers, shelves, counters, etc. Office and school supplies are also great here, and the kids I tutor absolutely love the smelly erasers and variety of pens and paper notebooks you can get. A great place for cheap gifts like that. I really enjoy browsing the Daiso stores but definitely try to keep your head on straight because you can get carried away, and things like envelopes can actually be found cheaper at a regular dollar store! read more

Is there anything you CAN'T find here?! Fantastic store with the most amazing prices ever!! Be warned tho: I promise you will suddenly NEED everything in the store. 3 things to keep in mind: 1. They don't accept credit cards for purchase under $10. They're really strict about that. One time my total came out to like $9.74 ($9+tax) and the lady would not let me pay with my credit card, and said I had to pick out something out to make my total $10. 2. You can find all sorts of household useful thingies at just $1.50! I got some futon storage cover and other storage bags that you can vacuum seal (you know, like for your seasonal clothes, blankets, etc.). Pretty neat store with a bunch of random stuff you can ever imagine. Everything from some home goods to automotive to electronic accessories. There is so much random stuff, you literally can't come here just to buy one item. Best Japanese dollar store I've ever been to! How can they offer all of these things for $1.50? It's a mystery to me. I walked out with tons of USEFUL items, all priced lower than I would pay elsewhere. I kept double-checking each item for an "otherwise marked" price tag because I couldn't believe they'd only charge 1.50. They do accept credit/debit for purchases over $10, which I appreciate. They have an ALL SALES FINAL policy, which is GREAT, because it keeps prices low, and the checkout lines moving quickly, not bogged down with petty returns! Besides, no one needs "satisfaction guaranteed" on a dollar fifty investment. read more

Great place for buying things you never knew you needed! I get some cheapo lashes here sometimes, and they have cute lashes box that I just had to buy 4 of. Mechanical erasers that all the cool kids have can be bought here, and the batteries to go with them. Great quality scissors (I have a thing for scissors) and tons of bento box swag. We passed by this store after checking out the Sleepy Hollow Christmas Lights on our way home. Seeing all these bright lights shining from the inside of the store, we knew something is special waiting inside and decided to go in and take a look. Daiso is sort of like a Japanese Dollar Tree, except everything inside is $1.50 (unless marked differently) and the stuff it sells are way more unique than the general dollar store. Every aisle I walked, I constantly found myself picking up every item trying to figure out what exactly they were. And more likely than not, I would think to myself, "that is such an amazing idea." A few of them include the banana holder, the oil absorption sheet and the strawberry shoulder massage stick. In my opinion, a lot of the stuff here would make a great gift for anyone. I just found out Daiso has just recently opened another store in Monterey Park. I'm so excited since this one is so much closer to home and I will have to check that one out soon! read more

We don't have a Daiso in Colorado and a friend of mine took me here when I was visiting Torrance for work. This store was so much fun! I love to see foods and candies from other countries because it's fun to see what flavors people come up with! I also love that the prices are less than $2! Tons of household items i.e. cookware, clothing, stationary/crafts, cosmetic supplies, pet supplies, cell phone and car accessories, snacks, etc. The grand opening was this weekend and I was surprised at how many people packed the store already. The checkout line was rather long but the cashiers were quick, efficient, and kept it moving nicely. They take visa/mastercard ($5 minimum) and there is a strict no return store policy. This place is amazing. There are so much random stuff from Japan. My favorite are the snacks. Also this place has containers galore. If you like to keep stuff organize, this is where its at. I've never been to the Container Store but I imagine it would be something like that... But they have auxiliary cords, smart phone case, and chargers for $1-$2. Great little asian market with lots of good stuff at great prices. There are certainly some weird items as well, but not so weird that you feel like you're in a different country. There are tons of different products, mostly priced at $1.50 or below. IMO, this is better than the dollar store. I think the quality of the products are better. Things I buy here seem to last longer than the stuff I buy at the dollar store. The most expensive items they sell seem to be priced at $5. They really seem to have everything you would be looking for from strange asian snacks to wrapping paper to cleaning supplies to car products to trinkets to school supplies. This is better than the 99cent stores for sure. The dollar tree is a good place, but if you're ready for a change to brighten up your life then check out Daiso. read more

I love Daiso! I feel like this one was slightly larger and had more stuff than the one in Irvine (or maybe because I go to the Irvine one a lot that it feels smaller). I LOVE THIS STORE!!! I never know what I will find here. I could spend an hour in here, checking out each item and trying to figure out what some of them are used for. They carry inexpensive, unique items, you won't find anywhere else unless you visit Japan. They have a nice earring collection. I buy two sets of earrings for only $1.50 so in case I lose one earring, I have another complete set. They carry small, quality plastic containers for lotion or makeup. I bought several fiber-optic displays that change colors and are beautiful in the dark, for $1.50. (Batteries not included but they sell batteries for $1.50 too). Visited daiso today. After looking around for a while, i decided to ask an employee. She was stocking & i guess i "BOTHERED" her. Because she rudely glared at me. I proceeded to ask where the item was located, all she did was point towards a direction that led me nowhere near what i was looking for. At this point, i was frustrated & asked for her name. She rudely said Adylene/Adilene & turned her back on me, continuing to stock. Which she wasn't really doing in the first place. I simply walked away, & looked for the item on my own. Later on as i was walking towards the registers, i heard her tell another employee how much of a sh*tty customer i was. No bothers, I will be contacting her manager. Or headquarters. Wow! Michael S. really summed it up. This place is PINK. Like "It's a Girl!" e-cards, Aerosmith b-sides, and powder puff football. Everything (unless otherwise denoted), is only $1.50. I still shopped semi-conservatively. Still managed to pick up the best "footies" (Great, just lost my man card too) for the bottom of your chair legs...ever!, a pair of kitchen tongs, two bandanas, 20 bags of Hojicha, an unfiltered Japanese white tea, & Japanese iced coffee draaank for a very swift, low amount. ALL SALES ARE FINAL, the checkout clerk said, but in lowercase. After walking out of there on my $1.50 store high (less harsh than a $1.00 store high), I investigated my products. Tiny Chinese and Vietnamese hands had assembled my purchases. Therefore, I know with vigorous use, my tongs may just snap one day in two. I love this place!!! This is the only place that I know of that has "tiny" carts for your little carry-on baskets. HOW CUTE IS THAT?! You won't regret coming here. Daiso sells a majority of its products for $1.50. On occasion though, there are items that are worth a bit more value like tea sets or t-shirts; the prices can vary anywhere from $7-20. This is the spot for random knick knacks to decorate any household. If you're an organizational freak like me - this is your heaven! I'm continually amazed by this store; be sure to take your time when shopping because you'll see some unbelievable things. Today I bought a set of chair leg covers (or chair socks as I'd like to think of them) to cover my chairs so they don't make noise going over the ceramic tile floor. They were all of $1.50 for the set of 4. I had been using adhesive moleskin-type stuff cut to fit, but they had a tendency to not only shift but accumulate dust and pet hair so I wasn't really happy with them. What a great store! read more

Just like a mini-Daiso in Japan. They even have J-pop playing and futon tataki. We have been looking for tataki in America for 4 years and never found them until now.
