We stopped here because DQ is having an offer for 0.85 small blizzards if you use their app between now and 9/28. Definitely check that out if you're able! This DQ does not have food which is always a downer to see. I got the heath blizzard and my bf got the butterfinger. Both were good! They came out really quickly and were already semi starting to melt making me wonder how long they had been made. You could tell at least one of the guys working was over the deal which is kind of understandable but not great to show to customers. Overall it was a great cheap treat! read more

Dairy Queen isn't bad for your ice cream fix. It's not the best but it will do. Everyone loves the blizzards I do too. They have a big selection of things that can mix in for you and a lot of pre-made choices as well. FYI it's only open during the warmer seasons. Parking can be a little tricky but for the most part you can find somewhere to park. Pro tip: Try around in back. There is a parking lot available when it's not full. There is seating outside which is a plus and there shade and cover. This location because it's the only ice cream shop that I know of in the downtown Stamford area. It can get super busy. Just allow your self extra time. If your local to the area I would definitely stay stop by for a sweet treat. read more

I used to come to Stamford more frequently back in the day but now that I live closer I have been visiting a lot more! After dinner we were craving something sweet so we stumbled upon the DQ! The perfect treat on a nice day! Considering the weather here in Stamford, this location does close during the winter months. However, it is also nice when it opens coming spring. The line can get really long in the summer months, but it does move quickly. There are so many different desserts to try out and there is the monthly special which is always nice to try. Some of my favorites include the oreo blizzard or the cookie dough blizzard. There was also the brownie oreo cupfection which is worth all 700 something calories. They also do sell some ice cream cakes and individually wrapped ice cream treats. My mom's favorite is the dilly bar which is vanilla ice cream with a chocolate covered shell coating. There is a small parking lot as well as a few tables and benches to enjoy your amazing dessert! You really can't go wrong with whatever you get here, so come try them all. read more

Love the simplicity and ease of this Dairy Queen. It's pure ice cream through and through, no other food on the menu which makes it easy (since other DQ's serve actual meals). I always enjoy getting an Oreo Blizzard or vanilla shake from them when the weather starts to warm up. The workers are always friendly and I never have an issue with them when going there. I'm conflicted about giving this 3 or 4 stars. DQ is only opened half of the year. So if you're craving some good ol' upside ice cream in the dead of winter, you're going to have to wait. This place is always busy and the service is slow. They need to expand this joint because people clearly love it. They don't have a ton of staff so when you see that line outside has finally shortened, grab a spot in line pronto. I never really visit because of the long line that never seems to go away. I am a DQ fan! Being from CT and having lived near multiple DQs, I'm sad to say this one is the least good. The Stamford DQ billiards never have enough of the toppings throughout. I have gone multiple times but yet to have a good blizzard. I have ordered the same thing for years, chocolate ice cream with pb sauce and Reese pbcup. Whenever I've gotten them here, the bottoms have always been just ice cream. I have yet to have one with peanut butter and pbcup all the way through. They are sparse on how much they put in. I also find it interesting that Im always handed a blizzard with the top full of peanut butter and crunches. But barely any throughout. Even when asking for extra. Cost for a med with 2 toppings costs $5.85. The employees are focused on getting people through the line in a timely manner. Which is nice. They aren't super friendly but also not rude at all. I was extremely disappointed that for the free cone day all of Connecticut's Dairy Queen refused to supply free chocolate cones!! My family frequent this spot throughout the year and because my children only like chocolate ice cream they were unable to celebrate free cone day!! There were very disappointed and did not understand how their best friends in New York who also eat chocolate ice cream were able to receive a free cone!! This left a really bad taste in my mouth as a mother who had to comfort her nine year old son and daughter. Parking is decent behind and there are a good amount of seats to lounge around. Four of us were ordering - we asked for the mini blizzard (advertised on TV for 1.99 but sold in Stamford for 2.89). The guy replies, very rudely, "we only have small medium and large." despite the mini being on the menu. We asked if he could make a mini blizzard using the small cup by using less ice cream. (not too much to ask given the mini was boldly posted on their menu, is it?). He seemed to get angry at this request and replied, now rude and angry, "yes, but I'm still going to charge you full price for a small, so what do you want to do?". I came here and got the Mint Oreo Blizzard. Service was pretty normal and nothing special. It looked clean inside from what I can see. The outside was not the same. It looked like it needed a hose or power wash. The ice creams came out at a fair pace and it was pretty good! My only complaint and half of a deduction is for the old stale Oreos mixed with the new Oreos. This can be fixed by tossing the cookies (out). I would recommend this place if you are in this specific area and are looking for a fast place to eat ice cream. I love me some DQ soft serve! I've been going to this one since I was a kid and my mom would treat me to ice cream after undergoing the trauma of a Dr. appointment. Made those scary vaccinations worth the pain! They have great service here. No matter how long the line, it always moves quickly. Oh and the cherry shell coating is awesome. No other ice cream chain beats it. They have the best rainbow sprinkles too (and don't you dare call them jimmy's!). They're lighter and smaller than rainbow sprinkles elsewhere... I swear it's true! I've been coming to this location for years, however, I was not pleased with my most recent order. I wanted a royal New York cheesecake blizzard and they stated they ran out of the cheesecake batter. This also happened on two separate occasions to a friend of mine as well. To make matters worse, they also didn't have anymore Reese's or hot fudge. These are pretty basic ingredients/flavors and is very annoying/ inconvenient that they don't have them at all times. I love coming to DQ for the blizzards, I live in NY so I make the drive to CT just for blizzards. If you haven't had DQ blizzards I highly recommend going to DQ. However you have to go certain times cause usually there is a line to wait and sometimes there isn't. I always get the cotton candy blizzard. But i believe it's a seasonal thing so make sure to get it while it's still available. Oh and this is just an ice cream stop there isn't any food so don't expect food from this DQ. I've been coming to Dairy Queen for about 17 years, and not much has changed since I was little. The soft serve is the best I've had at any chain and the blizzards are to die for! Classic flavors and treat options combined with really tasty ice cream is key and DQ has always nailed it. It's the one place that I can rely on to taste the same for years and it's ALWAYS good. Recently I've been missing the tall blonde-bearded, bald gentleman that used to work there, but the new folks provide good service too. 95% of the time, expect to wait in a long line because people know where to get great ice cream!
