Finally made it to Cwispy Chkn, after a mix up with the hours (they're closed for an hour mid day). Unfortunately, it was not worth the wait. While the chicken was seasoned well, it was unimpressive. Not exceptionally crispy and I wasn't impressed with the portion size either. The variety of sauces also fall short of anything amazing, and don't do anything to try and save the chicken. The Mac n cheese was a miso Mac n cheese. Why? I do not know but what I do know is i'd never have it again. Miso-disappointed Very bland and I think the miso gave it a strange aftertaste. Also, there were no waffles! I was looking forward to chicken and waffles and apparently waffles were no longer on the menu and they "didn't know when they were coming back". Lastly, even our lemonades were terrible. They came out of the fountain warm, and the ice it came with did nothing to help. There were a few stools, but besides that there was no where to sit with our three year old, so we had to go back to our car to eat. I pulled in at 2:40, unaware of the hours, so I started to back out since my passengers were both hungry (maybe even hangry, but I digress), The woman came running out, waving me back in, "we can feed you" she said "we just closed,come in." It's a takeout/pickup restaurant, walk-in with tasteful, reclaimed wood walls, very clean. Serving chicken, delicious chicken, fried-delicious-chicken. It's not an overly extensive menus so your choices are made simple, they do what they do and they do it well! I came here a while back and thought the tenders were just "okay." Today, I gave them another shot this time with chicken & waffles and wow, I should have gotten this item the first time! Chicken & Waffles: 10/10. The waffle doubles as a taco shell, soft but sturdy, and the chicken is thin, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The hot honey goes really well with it Fries: A hybrid between potato wedge + skinny fry. Crispy, seasoned, and way better than your average fry. Overall: Best chicken spot in the area. Their food quality is truly unmatched--everything is fresh and made to order, which makes every bite delightful. I love ordering for pickup or through Uber Eats. Their house-made Miso Ginger sauce is absolutely fantastic, and I recently tried their new seasoning on the hand-cut fries, which blew me away! Plus, they use Bell and Evans air-chilled chicken breasts, local Wave Hill bread products, fresh, never-frozen fries, 100% avocado oil, and Hawaiian pink salt. Mid fries, Mid MacNCheese, Mid Chicken, Mid Cookie, the only thing good here is the waffles, syrup, and the fountain soda. The fries are stale and flavorless if you don't request it with seasoning, even then it's salty when added,l. The chicken sandwiches are so average you'd be better off getting a mc chicken from McDonald's, the cookies are also salty asf, I thought paying for quality would be better but they can't even outdo McDonald's slop food and that says something. read more

After dropping off junk at the Magee Junk drop Off center, I saw the store front and became curious! Thank God, I acted on it! Fried crispy chicken fingers tasted flavourful. I chose jalapeño mayo and bbq were the best dips. The red curry fries sound like my speed and it was! Spicy but not overbearing! I love the waffles it's pretty much a crispy croissant in waffle form. The waffles pair perfect with the cwispy chicken. Definitely recommend trying fries as well they are also very yummy and cwispy. Picked it up to go nice packaging. read more

I think this is a newer establishment, so I don't really have much negative to say. I love that this place uses higher quality oil - that's an absolute must for my husband. The food he says is tasty, definitely "cwispy" and priced pretty okay considering the higher quality food being served. My only real critique is that the chicken for the sliders could be maybe dipped in the sauces, rather than spooned on. The amount I felt was really small, just enough to maybe get a small taste and not really enjoy the unique flavors being offered. My only other issue was the fries were totally soggy and not cwispy at all, which totally defeats the purpose lol. I also feel like they were chopped really sloppily, so some fries were cooked more than others... it was kinda weird. Overall, worth a try for sure. Hopefully they're able to improve the little things, but it's definitely not enough to write them off. read more

I wish Yelp had the option to add half a start, because really I give Cwispy a 4.5 rating. The food is a 10/10, I'd only take points off for details. The food is delicious and well cooked. I'm a huge fan of sauces and they got em!! I looooove that everything is cooked in avocado oil!! And that they've partnered with Wave Hill Breads in Norwalk!! I love a local colab, but most importantly, a responsibly sourced one. Points off for not having a phone that people can call, kind of weird hours, and ordering experience through third party. We were attracted to the croissant waffles that we saw on tiktok. however they are on the chewier side and could not be cut with a plastic knife. the maple syrup has a good caramel type of flavor and they doused the waffle with it. while it's still good, it can get overwhelmingly sweet. one waffle per person is pretty filling! the chicken had good flavor and a great crunch, it was enjoyable. We also got the loaded fries with mac and cheese. the mac and cheese wasn't super cheesy and the noodles were a bit over cooked. it was still enjoyable to eat. the fries were wedges and they were big! it wasn't crunchy since they were loaded, but i actually enjoy my fries like this. the sauce that they drizzle on top has a garlicy flavor that i like as well. The service here was good. we got there before the crowd started forming in the store. the wait for the food took maybe 10 minutes. there was only one person taking orders and he walked the food to us after he bagged it, which was nice! The resturant itself is pretty small with limited seating. they have a couple of stools to sit on to eat at the tables attached to the wall. read more

I was SO excited to try. Unfortunately I was left heartbroken. Upon eating my waffle, I realized I was eating a croissant that was flattened in a waffle maker. I was so excited for the hot honey but was just left with honey, not hot.... so sad. Another excitement was the buffalo sauce. I immediately cried when it ran down my arm because it was so watery. Not to mention, my fry flopped over as it was severely undercooked. The spicy seasoned fries also lacked the spice. I ALMOST FORGOT !!!! I got a mouthful of vinegar and noodles with unmelted cheese when I got the Slaw and Mac&Cheese. I spent $250 here and bought one of everything and it was such a waste! Food is good and staff is friendly. However, they do not stick to the times posted on their door and website. They are supposed to close at 7:00. Twice I have come at 6:45 and they have been closed with the door locked. I can not get there earlier due to work. It's very frustrating when you have a child in the car who was promised cwispy and you have to drive away with them crying because it's closed 15+ minutes earlier than it's supposed to be. read more

Surprisingly excellent! A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. I would put this in the elevated fast food category. I had the sliders. My children had the strips. I like the jalapeño mayo best with sliders. My son likes to mix honey mustard and hot honey with his strips. Chicken is perfectly cooked. And the French fries are amazing. The chef(s) are graduates from Johnson and Wales. So they are chefs, not short-order cooks. They cook with avocado oil and Himalayan salt to make the food healthier, and told me it took 6 months to perfect their French fry recipe. They are pretty special. They are crispy and salty on the outside like shoestring fries, but plenty of delicious potato flavor and texture on the inside like steak fries. read more
