Mika truly made our entire experience! From the moment we sat down, she was warm, welcoming, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. She checked on us consistently without ever making us feel rushed and gave amazing recommendations. Her energy and personality were such a highlight of our night! The tacos and drinks were delicious, but Mika's exceptional service is what really made this a 5-star experience. We'll definitely be back and will be asking for Mika again! read more

First time in Stamford and was recommended to try this place! The vibe is super cute and the staff is very friendly and kind. You order either by QR or by filling out a form, Sushi restaurant style. I got the pomegranate lemonade, the street corn, pork belly taco, Baja fish taco and carne asada taco. All street taco size and perfect for my lunch. Definitely will come back try more! read more

Bartaco is our go to favorite. But yesterday we went to Stamford and were taking care of by Tim who was the only server working a busy lunch crowd. He was super efficient, sweet, kind, and patient. I observed him attending his guests with a work ethic you rarely see nowadays. We will always go to Bartaco for the food, but we will go back to the Stamford location for Tim! read more

Recently enjoyed outdoor dining at this establishment and had such a lovely experience unlike a lot of the reviews here. Some of the standouts for us included the pork belly tacos, and the churros. Very easy, ordering process and delicious food. My only wish is that the portions were larger. Service was friendly and food was tasty so I'll definitely be back this summer to continue enjoying the lovely outdoor space and food. read more

First time at Bartaco in Stamford, the vibe was amazing, our server Andrew was friendly, and had no problem explaining the menu. Chef Angel made the experience out of this world, he came out because I couldn't have seeds, made me a special Avocado sauce it was the best we've ever had. Thank you can't wait to dine again read more

The food was excellent. I had the chips with verde, Roja, and guacamole. I had the cauliflower taco which was delightful, the chili lime shrimp was a bit overcooked, the shrimp was chewy. I was traveling for work, so I sat by myself at the bar. I noticed the bartender asked me for a card to open my tab, but he did not ask the other patrons. I thought that was a bit odd. The bartender was definitely very busy and could have used a bit more help. Overall, it was a good experience, I will be back when I travel for work. read more

Dishes are hit or miss. Some things well-seasoned and others - like their Asian fusion attempts - are not great. Honestly the hype of the place always works against bartaco in my opinion. It didn't help that service was inconsistent. They tell you about their put up the card system for service but then don't actually follow it. Takes a while to get someone's attention and get a drink. Maybe will give bartaco a try again but not anytime soon. read more

I tried the lobster street corn (seasonal) pretty good, ceviche was spicy for me, guac was good. Also tried the Oaxaca cheese sticks and they tasted like mozz cheese sticks so they were just ok. Overall good Mexican food with authentic spices. I visited on a Saturday evening and like most restaurants on summer street music was kind of loud but good ambiance. read more

We came on a Friday night and were told it was a 20 min wait for a table, which was no problem. Unfortunately, it took over an hour for a table to open up. Luckily, we got some seats at the bar in the meantime when they cleared up. The drinks were flavorful and had a kick. I loved the guava margarita. We ordered our food as soon as we got a table and waited about 10 minutes for the apps to come out and a half hour for main courses to come out. The vibe is loud and trendy. read more

Came here for dinner and had a pleasant experience. You order via QR code rather through a waiter which I thought was interesting. I would recommend 3-4 tacos per person as you probably can get 2-3 bites out of each taco. The food itself was decent with some good flavors. A little light on the meat though. The service was overall decent. The only qualm I had was I didn't get one of the tacos I ordered and asked for a refill on chips and it took forever to get despite asking multiple times (the place wasn't that busy). The place is nice and modern with decent amount of seating. Other than that, it was positive. Would return. read more

The food was full of flavor, and the service was great. The only surprise was the appetizer portion--it was much smaller than expected, even smaller than a typical kid's side. I came here for my birthday with my girlfriends and the food and drinks were great. I usually go during the day or early afternoon, while we enjoyed the food and drinks, the music was way too loud. I could not hear the person in front of me speak, there is no dance floor so we were genuinely confused and disappointed. I will say, outdoor and inside is great. Service over all was good, someone always checked on us and asked if we needed anything. I would suggest going earlier in the evening and summers night out is definitely the vibe. read more

I love bartaco! The portions are small and the prices are a bit expensive, but I keep coming back because the food is so good. My favorite taco is the pork belly ($3.95) -- braised pork belly caramelized in a sweet arbol chile glaze, topped with cilantro and pickled red onions. It's a crowd pleaser! I also really like the sesame ribeye taco ($3.95) -- ribeye beef marinated in a sweet sesame-soy sauce, topped with spicy kimchi and cilantro. Finally, an honorable mention goes to the chorizo taco ($2.95) -- Argentinian style spiced and seared ground pork finished with sweet onion, fresh cilantro and a smoky red chimichurri sauce. Besides tacos, their ceviche ($9.50) is great -- shrimp and cod tossed with fresh chiles, diced tomato and avocado in a bright citrus marinade, topped with cilantro, red onion and cayenne. But the one thing you must try (other than the pork belly tacos) is the tres leches dessert ($7) -- vanilla sponge cake soaked in three milks, topped with whipped cream, caramel sauce and toasted coconut. As opposed to other tres leches cakes that are served on a plate, this one comes in a jar, so the cake doesn't lose any of its moisture. It was incredibly delicious. read more

I ordered the ahi taco rice bowl. It was super delicious. The brown rice and sweet peppers gave it a healthy taste. Not bad. They all go together. The ahi tuna was shimmering. It was very good. I like my food saucy. I added the table sauces to my dish as I ate each bite. Out of the three sauces, my favorite was the jalapeño - it was tangy. Not too spicy. The Roja was my second choice. The habanero was a bit too spicy for me. I got spoiled from Rivera Maya (a block away) because they gave complimentary chips and salsa. Bartaco didn't need to but it would've been nice to have a small complimentary side. Again, I was spoiled read more

the food and drinks here are tasty and the vibes are really cute. we had the plantains, chips and guac, chicken tacos, sesame ribeye bowl, and margaritas. everything was very good although the chicken tacos are more charred than i personally prefer. the sesame ribeye bowl tasted just like bulgogi. i especially enjoyed the sauce that came with the plantains and the guac, as well as their house made hot sauce. the margaritas were really sweet and strong. service was mostly fairly hands off but pleasant and friendly. the nice manager, david, came by and chatted with us about our experience. would definitely come back if i'm in the area! read more

Classic, high quality, delicious. Definitely come here if you're around. Fantastic food

Please don't judge me as I ate bartaco twice within the same week...NY and Connecticut here I come (or came)!! Always concerned when I try a new location but no worries here LOVE LOVE LOVE this location. Everything tasted the same as in NY! Of course tacos (as always) flavorful...I always get pork belly (my favorite), any of the seafood options, and today I tried the mushroom taco. I was actually surprised that the seasoning of the mushrooms went very well with verde salsa that is table side. Would definitely order again. My friend tried the chicken tortilla soup (yes, I took a spoonful) and it is flavorful, loaded with chicken and cheese, and the tortillas help provide texture. Now let's chat about the red and verde salsas...purchase the trio (both salsas + guacamole) so you can try it all! For those that do not have a high spice level; the red salsa had a kick (that's your warning) but it is soooo good! A must try is adding some of this salsa on your tacos YUMMY!!! Unless there is a back room with additional seating this location is not extremely big so make sure to download the bartaco app and/or go online and add yourself to the waitlist to reduce your wait time. Oh also, they have the best matches so grab on your way out. Last thing, you will receive a text message with a very short survey once you completely check out. Make sure to complete the survey and you will receive a digital reward of a free taco...winning!!! read more

This place is great. I was in town for work and luckily found it on google maps and wanted to give it a try. It is busy, but the staff makes you feel totally welcome and at ease. The vibes are SO good. It was my first time here and they spent time explaining the menu and how everything worked. I enjoyed myself so much- I made a point to return once again before I left town. (Both times I sat at the bar. Kudos to the team. A+ for them ALL!) Had a chance to speak with The GM. He is super kind and has great energy. Spicy margs. Incredible. Lobster Ceviche was amazing. Pork belly, Baja fish and shrimp tacos were my fave. (Got them the second visit as well) Amazing flavors and spice/heat across all dishes. Super impressed. I truly hope I find myself in an area that has a Bartaco again! I will be dreaming about that jalepeno hot sauce. And for the record- since I was there and lost this review in my drafts- I went to the BarTaco in Boston on Thomson (bc I loved my experience in CT so much and traveled to Boston two weeks later for work ) and oh my god- THIS CT location is 10x better. Whatever this location is doing- all barTacos need to do! read more

Food is delicious and at a decent price for a gentrified Mexican restaurant. Their pork belly tacos are AMAZING!! It's the main reason why I go back. Their sides are also tasty and great to share. Beverages, alcoholic and not, are all really good too. I love their pomegranate limonada. Service is fast and servers are super helpful when you put up the card for assistance. You order and pay on your phone so it's a super easy transaction. At night it gets packed. You'll most likely have to wait for a table, but you may be lucky with bar seats. Other bar taco locations have more space and the ambiance is always fun. read more

Such tasty food and flawless service--this is a clear five star, casual place for dinner and drinks. The bowls and the tacos are equally delicious--especially with pork belly. I went to bartaco in Stamford several years ago and it was fresh, flavorful, and delicious! This week I had them cater a business lunch and holy crap! The salt!! Guys, what happened? Is this what happens when a restaurant gets bought up by a large restaurant group? Seriously, everything in our order was way too salty. Vinegar was overused as well. Each sauce/condiment was super vinegary. I hope the restaurant remembers that there are more ways to flavor food than salt and vinegar! I must say though, the only thing that wasn't salty was the guac. Which wasn't guac at all, just mashed avocado. No peppers, cilantro, onion, tomatoes!! Geez, what a disappointment all around. read more

I've been at different Bartaco locations previously (Por Chester, NY, West Hartford, CT) and this is the first time trying the glazed pork belly taco (recommended by a friend). Went there to celebrate a friend's birthday and I was very impressed with the spicy margarita. I typically don't like unflavored margaritas, but this really hit the spot. I also ate the jalapeños on top and coughed a ton!! Then, I got the chicken verde bowl and this happened to be my only food of the night, so it really filled me up. The service was great, you place a card up when you need service which is unique. The ambiance was busy without being too loud and had a very chill/casual vibe. read more

I would DEFINITELY go again. Food-- delicious and varied. Appreciated the healthy option of lettuce wrap rather than a taco. The guac? Delicious!!! River was a lovely server. Friendly, quick, and responsive. Liked our comfy table. The one downside? They had terrible problems with their audio system. Rather than fixing it after closing or during off-peak hours, they were fussing with it over and over and over during lunch rush. Distracting and annoying. Other than that? Totally recommend it! read more
