I was in the area and was looking for a lunch spot. I ended up here, and I'm glad I did! I ordered the chicken burrito. It was very flavorful and delicious! They were out of salsa when I was here. So, I also ordered the guacamole. They had hot sauces too, but no salsa. They said their delivery hadn't come in yet. I love salsa! It's one of my favorite foods, hence the four stars. Came back here for dinner with friends and was very satisfied. We started with the street corn and chips for 4. A nice warmup before dinner. I went straight for the brisket tacos which are my favorite. Their house bbq hot sauce compliments the tacos. I akso had 2 grilled fish tacos which are also a fave. This afternoon around 1:15 we went to Mexicue for the first time in over a year due to past service issues. Today was a totally different experience. We were greeted immediately by the friendly bartender and told we could sit anywhere. We chose a four top by the back windows. Amber D was at our table quickly and took our complete order as we needed to hurry. She was professional, friendly and helpful. We chose tacos. Johnny had the pork taco and smokey chicken and I had two smoky chicken tacos. Omg they were amazing!! But the best part was the excellent service we received. Bob the manager stopped by to check on us. What a great change. No more club music played too high, no more scantily clad gaudy appearance of servers either. We decided to eat here for New Year's since it was one of the few places open, and it didn't disappoint! I'm not usually a salad person, but this one was amazing--the dressing was packed with flavor, and the crunch was perfect. I also tried the shrimp burrito, which was pretty good. My only complaint is that it was a bit too saucy on top, making it hard to eat with my hands. Still, I'd recommend giving this place a try. The service was quick, and the location is beautiful. Although it's got it's beautiful views going for them, not impressed with the service. Took over ten min for someone to come over to our table and that was after getting someone to find him. Then my meal was supposed to come with rice and beans and the server made up an excuse that the rice and beans were IN the burrito. No pal it was supposed to be side dishes. Came here to celebrate both my parents' birthdays. Made a reservation and first thing I noticed was you'll be charged $25 per person if you no show. When we got there, our reservation wasn't confirmed, so now I need to keep an eye on my credit card to make sure I don't get charged. The requests I made, plus mention of bdays on the reservation, weren't acknowledged. I told the waitress we were celebrating two birthdays, and nothing was done at the end of the meal to even celebrate or acknowledge said birthdays. Chairs were comfy. It was a little loud once the room filled up, but nothing unbearable. Decor is cool, I liked the vibes of the place and I think the outdoor seating when the weather is nice would be awesome. As for the meal... Cups were dirty - lipstick stains and some other funky crap on the rim. I asked for a straw and never received it. Waitress came by and took my mom's drink order, but never asked my dad or I what we wanted. He had to flag someone else down to request a soda. My mom requested no salt on the rim of her marg and when she received it, it had salt. The portions seem fine until you realize that it's mostly rice and veggies. Barely any beans, and it was a very small serving of eggs on one of the plates. The burrito I got was over-salted... and that's coming from someone who rarely, if ever, complains about salt. Price wasn't terrible until you realize that you basically paid for carbs and dirty dishes. This visit was a huge letdown. read more

(Dirty cups and hair in food) The ambiance in the location is okay if you sit outside. There was about a 30 minute wait before we got seated. We were told we'd be called once a table was freed up for my party of five but we had to go back in and ask about seating when we waited and waited and nobody called. After being seated, they brought out water and we quickly noticed that there was a lipstick stain on one of the cups nobody at my party had touched yet. After I informed the server about the lipstick stained cup, a food runner approached us and asked us if we wanted free nachos which we accepted. The nachos were kind of mid. However, we ate a majority of them because we waited quite some time for the food which was no big deal. We just found it rather odd that things like napkins and cutlery weren't brought out until about 30 minutes later...I think it should be brought out with appetizers. Someone from my party ordered a sangria, which she didn't drink because it tasted pretty watered down which was a bit disappointing. At least we didn't get charged for it. After we got our food (which wasn't anything special or even flavorful) I began to write this review, and as I started typing, someone in my party discovered a straight hair entangled in the food... the straight hair is relevant because everyone at my party has curly hair, it was clear it wasn't one of ours. I was willing to write a better review even with the lipstick marks on the cup and wait time, but the hair and lack of flavor in the food unfortunately guarantees that I will not be visiting this establishment again, and will never recommend anyone visit this location. read more

Last night my family and I went to Mexicue and they blew us out of the water, as they always do! It was our first time since the weather has gotten nice and the views were stunning, it really is a gorgeous restaurant. We shared a few things so we could all get a try but the fajitas and the smash burger were standouts! We can't wait to find a time to get back. The service is always consistent and attentive, the food seems to get better every single time. Aside from this place being so damn loud, my group of 3 enjoyed our dinner here. I seriously don't understand why everywhere in harbor point blasts their music so you have to actually yell to hear people that are sitting at the same table as you. Like I'm not a grandma either and I actually want to catch up with my friends. I ordered the birria platter and it did not disappoint ! Chips and guacamole were good. Came here while on a little staycation in Stamford with my mom. It was Friday night, absolutely gorgeous weather and we had no reservation. Luckily at 6 pm the place wasn't too busy and the wonderful host was able to sit us outside. We got a classic margarita, it was happy hour so they were 8! Thought they were really good, not too much sour mix so I was ably to enjoy it on such a hot day. For food, we ordered a charred jalapeño guacamole. We were nervous it was going to be too spicy but it wasn't hot at all. It was actually one of the best guac's I've had out in awhile. I'll be visiting one of their NYC locations to go get it again in no time. I also ordered a pulled pork grilled taco and a crispy fish taco. I was more of a fan of the corn taco instead of the flour (the grilled taco was flour). The pulled pork was amazing! The sauce was tangy and a little Smokey. Probably the highlight of my meal. Have tried this place 6-7 times over the span of 4 years, even getting a beer is a terrible experience. I've come to the conclusion that this is simply a property investment for the Mexicue chain. While I understand the long term profit incentive of real estate, I do not think the brand has considered how truly consistently awful this location is, and the effect on the collective opinion of Mexicue. It's awful on so many levels, and word travels. I have yet to hear a positive experience here and it is a running joke of the community how terrible the food and service is and how they can't possibly be renting as no one will patronize this place (meaning they wouldn't be able to afford such a great ambiance). It was a quick trip to Connecticut for an oil change when I said "why waste a trip being is a next state without getting some food and drinks". I had Mexicue bookmarked for quite some time and we decided to check it out. It's located in a beautiful newly built area by the water . It's very relaxing to eat, drink and look out at the beautiful view. Inside was very modern, open concept, simple design that got the job done. The staff was friendly, smiled and greeted us as we entered as well as catered to our needs. I ordered the breakfast marg along with the breakfast burrito. The margarita was tasty , I wasn't a fan of the cinnamon rim but it was strong and unique. My breakfast burrito was well done I wish I didn't eat it all in under a minute lol. My friend ordered the breakfast bowl and she loved every minute of it. We enjoyed our time at mexicue and their wonderful staff. Next time I'm in CT I will be stopping by. read more

Friends and I ate here for brunch, which was underwhelming. We all had OJ margaritas, which were surprisingly delicious even with the Cinnamon Toast Crunch rim! However, the guacamole brought out was the wrong order (ordered the charred jalapeño and only received the regular). We didn't really realize it at first, but they brought out the correct order afterwards so that was nice (mistake wasn't made by the waiter, but someone else). The huevos rancheros that was ordered definitely wasn't your typical dish... very underwhelming. Jam burrito and burnt end burrito and bowls were alright, even though it's quite expensive for the amount of food you're getting. On the flip side, the waiter was nice at least. He was juggling our table, as well as all the tables outside. He would check up on us and make sure things were going well, which was appreciated. Unfortunately, because he was balancing so many tables he didn't come collect any plates or cups in between any rounds of food/drinks my friends and I would have. We had over 12 cups between us, as well as at least 4-5 plates and bowls all around... pretty difficult and not really appetizing to eat around a cluttered space... And there were a lot of other employees just standing around on their phones, texting. It was surprising only one person was serving so many tables. In essence, the food was subpar and overall service was mediocre. They have a lot to improve on. The experience isn't worth the price of the food you're paying. Lunch, brunch who knows but It was noon and we had Pineapple Mimosas that were bubbly, sweet and downright awesome. That says brunch to me but taco's say lunch! I like Mexicue's slogan, ... . Mexicue has a huge outdoor dining area and also a rooftop area that overlook Harbor Point. It was too damp and rainy to go outdoors but they have lots of windows so we sat by the floor length windows with a great view of the Harbor and kinda felt like we were outdoors, sorta. My friend ordered the plant based nachos minus the pickled onions as they don't agree with her. Me and my other friend had the tacos. Two were filling so much I wish I had only ordered one but not being able to decide between the fish or burnt ends so (I'm a sucker for burnt ends) I got both. Their taco options - 5" organic corn tortillas or romaine boat & herb slaw, gf available or GRILLED TACOS 6" grilled flour tortilla with slaw & melted cheese. For my grilled taco I ordered the crispy fish taco , corn salsa, creamy chipotle, pickled peppers, watermelon radish, salsa verde. The piece of fish I believe was cod. My grilled taco choice was the burnt end brisket with salsa verde, lime crema, cotija, spiced corn nuts. Definitely did not get spiced corn nuts. They were corn kernels. Both tortilla's looked the same to me so I don't think they gave me a flour one with the grilled as advertised but I like corn tortillas better anyway. The views and ambience is Killer just wish the food came out as advertised. Also the nacho chips that came with quac we ordered were on the fat side and rather tasteless. I didn't taste or see any salt nor seasoning. Salsa is extra (WFT, seriously?) no idea what it cost but we ordered it because the nachos had no flavor so needed the salsa kick. We went with the verde which had a kick but wasn't we were told as spicy as the red. We sort of gave up on the nacho chips thereby regretting having order the salsa. Mexique Stamford is truly one of my favorite restaurants, and a perfect place for not only dining, but for booking and hosting an event. We recently celebrated my best friend's birthday in the upstairs dining and rooftop area, and we are now going back to celebrate my birthday because it was just that perfect. From the beautiful décor and ambiance, the views that overlook the water and Harbor Point area, to the incredible staff, food and margaritas, it was perfect and I could not thank them enough for everything. Tiesha and her daughter were outstanding, and James was super helpful in making sure everything worked out perfectly, and making sure the same is to come for my birthday. Picked mexicue since it was waterfront dining and 5 mins away from the Hilton we were staying in . Made a last minute reservation which was great on Thursday 8/20 at around 3 pm - we arrived and were seating outdoors , we asked for a table with some shade and luckily we got it . 3 stars because of the service and attitude. Our waitress wasn't friendly at all , condescending and not helpful. My friend is vegan and asked a simple question about a sauce and the waitress was like umm I don't know and just plain rude . Then I asked if there was a way I can order something that wasn't on the menu but clearly the ingredients were available and not anything ridiculously annoying I just wanted to order my daughter a quesarito with rice cheese and steak , instead of just helping me order something similar she had a bad attitude and didn't accommodate ,she just answered we don't have steak ....She ended up ordering just a rice and cheese one which was horrible . I had the kale and seasonal salad and that was really delicious , my friend also liked what she ordered I don't remember the menu names but I've attached pics and we had the coconut margaritas which we liked .
