Growing up Italian and nearby in Greenwich, we'd often get their pastries, custom ordered birthday cakes, zeppoles and sfingis and those oh so amazing almond horns in the 90's. Went to college and moved higher upstate over time. And although they've moved locations a slight bit, their quality and recipes have remained the same. Just had them the other week when my father came to visit. Everything was just as fabulous as I remembered. Thank you for not changing along with the rest of the world.

In addition, she brought us chocolate chip cookies that reminded me of the thin, crispy cookies from Tate's Bake Shop, which are my favorite! I rejoiced all the sweets and even had a card for a free dessert or cookie, though I misplaced it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this shop for your next celebration!

If you haven't been to the store, it has a lovely chalet-looking exterior, reminding me of previous trips I've made to Bavaria. And it smells as good as you would expect inside. Cake was fresh and super delicious, and their buttercream is the best in town. In fact the best in the area! They are pricey- prime Greenwich real estate. They charged me $35 alone to hand draw two butterflies on the cake. That was a lot. However the cake itself definitely lived up to and beyond expectations. Just don't refrigerate it- sooo much better at room temp.

Finally tried the mini cupcakes -- Red velvet mini cupcake is ok. Carrot cake icing was WAY too sweet esp with it supposedly being the only cream cheese frosting (should be less sweet...but was more sweet than the vanilla buttercream). I will stay away from these. Despite the place being really busy, every worker was friendly and hustling to keep the line moving. The sandwich tasted fresh and made to order, the bacon was crispy and generous, and the croissant was soft and buttery, not the usual frozen, microwaved taste you'd get from Dunkin. The latte was smooth and not overly sweet, and the glazed donut was soft, fresh, and exactly what I was hoping for. Overall, this place feels like a step above the big chains, with real ingredients and a more personal touch.

Disappointed Again at Donuts Delight - Customer Service & Quality Slipping…read more This was my second less-than-great experience at this location, and unfortunately, it confirmed a pattern. I went through the drive-thru and was met with rude service from the female staff who took me my order. She seemed irritated and dismissive, and when my order came out completely wrong, there was no opportunity to get it corrected--just a shrug and told the person at the window to push me through. The donuts themselves were just okay--nothing special--and this time they were handed to me upside down and smashed in the box. Both of my coffees were made incorrectly, which was especially frustrating since it's not a complicated order. The one bright spot was the male staff member at the window where I paid. He was kind and clearly doing his best to help, but the overall service and product quality just weren't there. Disappointed to say this might be my last visit unless things seriously improve.

Everything tasted great, however, some items weren't exactly what I expected. The cream puff was more like a cake with filling. It was very light and delicious, but not quite a cream puff. The shnibble seemed to be lacking some chocolate flavor even though it was all chocolate. Still tasted great though. The blueberry muffin was as expected and great. By the Way is a great place for gluten free treats, just not always the way you expect it!

After having a serious reaction, I had to go to the ER twice. The next day, I called the store to speak with the manager, hoping to understand how such a dangerous mistake happened. Instead of taking responsibility, she insisted I had ordered the extra toppings and told me she "didn't want to argue" with me. Her dismissive attitude was shocking, especially considering I had a medical emergency due to their error. To make matters worse, she told me to bring the rest of the sundae back so she could make another one. As if I would ever trust them with my safety again! The way I feel, I never want ice cream again. I will be calling corporate because this level of negligence and poor customer service is unacceptable.
