Oooh this place was yummy! We started with the scallop bite which was served on top of betel leaves. Never did I think I would eat a betel leaf. The flavor mixture of the scallop and leaves was amazing. Next we had a classic basil fried rice with shrimp which was iconic. Along with the Kaprow Wagyu. So so good! We had a mixture of mocktails and cocktails all which we downed so fast. This place gets packed very fast! We called and were able to reserve at the bar! Helped us get our tummy's happy faster. Hubby and I picked the perfect night to walk around NYC. Not too cold, the tail end of the holiday hustle. Shopped the shops at Herald Square and Bryant Park and then realized we were hungry! . We figured we'd find something on the way back to Penn Station and came across Dagg Thai and decided to pop in for dinner. We were greeted right away by very friendly staff and quickly seated. . The vibe is modern. Dimly lit. Loved the ambiance for dinner. There are two floors to choose from and we decided on upstairs for a little more quiet. . We started with great cocktails and moved on to delicious apps, our mains, and split dessert. This is what we had: Cocktails: Bananas in pyjamas - banana-infused whiskey - OMG wish I had ordered this Larb 11 Apps- Larb Wing - surprising whole fried chicken wings. Crispy, and well-seasoned with chili lime *MY PICK Curry Puff - chicken and potato curry puff with a sweet and spicy cucumber relish *HUBBY'S PICK Entrées: Pla Samun Prai - crispy whole branzino There was a lot going on here but I enjoyed hubby's dinner choice. The fish was crispy, flaky, and flavorful E-Ped for me. Seared duck breast. This was good but I wish the duck skin was crispier. Dessert: Coconut ice cream with taro puff. Just discovered this newly opened Thai restaurant. They offer several creative and unique dishes, such as their Scallop Bite and Pork Jerky. We also love the Larb Lamb and Nuer Yang. This happens to be the best Thai place in the whole United States. I am not only eating the spiciest food that I love from Thailand, but the tears in my eyes are opening up my heart, knowing that I really don't need a car in New York City for only less than a mile away, is this great Thai Food lunch and dinner even lunch specials this staff is so friendly and nice. They go out of their way to make sure that everything is done to your satisfaction you just have to learn to wait because good food takes a good chef longer to prepare in the style of Thailand from the moment you enter you are greeted by a wonderful gentleman Sathum who is only here for lunch, but that's OK. You can order takeout for dinner. He prepares it to whatever way you would like it no spice medium spice spicy spice or Thai spice. It's nice to have it with a little bit of spice on the side in a container so you can prepare it your way that's only for the foreigners not the ties. Their dishes are served beautifully. each way is an example of the Thai culture presentation and the taste is wonderful. Try the Thai iced tea and you will agree with me. It feels so homemade that why would you try the homemade style ever again the food the service the way this restaurant is decorated if you have a large party book upstairs it is quieter and you will enjoy the food more than ever before. This review is for take out. It was a rainy day and we were staying in the hotel next door. We had seen many people eating there as we were going in and out of the hotel. We were stuck in our room due to bad weather and didn't want to travel to eat so we decided to give it a try. We had pad see eiw, pad Thai as well as fried rice. Everything was hot and fresh packed nicely with utensils. Food was so good! Lots of meat each dish. Would recommend. So happy we didn't eat at a tourist trip. We made a reservation for Valentine's Day at 5 pm. We were reminded that there was a 90 minute limit for the table. No problem. We chose Dagg Thai because I don't eat gluten and it was advertised as a great gluten free restaurant. There weren't a ton of choices, but for the Prix Fixe Menu (which I love because you usually get a nice display of their best dishes) I was told there weren't any main dishes without gluten. Ok, no problem. But then as we tried to order, they told my husband that either we both had to choose the Prix Fixe menu or neither of us could have the Prix Fixe. I have never heard of such an absurd rule. So he quickly chose something else. But were were allowed the special Valentine's Day drink on the Prix Fixe menu. LOL Service was quick and the food was very good. By the time dessert rolled around (with the quick service we were well under the 90 minutes' time limit) they were out of all desserts, but two. Neither appealed to us (I was limited to only one and the sticky rice was sold out) so we left. It was on ok experience except for the inane rule and lack of dessert choice. this place is very very very overrated and don't believe the reviews. it was freezing cold out and we asked to be seated upstairs and they said "only with reservations " ok i guess --- but it was not full. anyway they seated us right by the front door and they have no protection from the door opening over and over. i would have accepted that if the prices were not absolutely ridiculous and the food mediocre at best. i asked for extra cilantro and for one tiny piece. the pad thai was overly sweet and pasty. so many better places in the city --DO NOT BELIEVE THE STAR RATINGS read more

This spot just opened up and I was walking home and needed something to eat so I stoped by. It was a warm winter night and the restaurant was fairly full. I found a spot at the bar next to a woman reading a book. I ordered the crispy fish to go and had a beer on tap. The fish was amazing - ate it at home while watching football. Whilst the branzino here MSG free and is quite good.....nearly everything else is 'seasoned' with MSG.
