Crispy branzino
Megan Y.

Came here on a tuesday at 12:15 PM with a reservation for 7 for a team lunch. The ambiance felt pretty casual, and the waiters were very quick to take our orders, bring our food, and fill our waters. I ordered the crispy branzino. It had good texture, but was a bit too oily and heavy for my liking. I did like the flavors with the dried herbs and sauce, but I would have liked a bit more spice and freshness. I would have ordered the steamed branzino, but they said it would take 15-20 minutes to cook.

Such a cute spot! Quick, prices are reasonable and I never felt weird sitting at the counter for lunch alone. They do a lot of business for to go as well but the food is good and place has a great seating area. Fried rice and veggies rolls are terrific!

Came here for a quick dinner with an out towner who wanted Thai cuisine. It was a Monday night and I quickly made the reservation via OpenTable - pretty seamless. I was surprised to find the place packed on a Monday night. We were there circa 7:15pm and it was about 85% full. My friend and I were seated upstairs - a-bit squishy but we made do with the space. Ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. The crab roll was very nice as was the green curry with chicken. The pad kee mao was also nice, a tad spicy but good.

I recommend Dagg to anyone who loves authentic delicious Thai food and delicious cocktails and mocktails. Perfect for a date night or night out with your friends. The servers are always super friendly and happy to see you. they are always so welcoming and seat you very quickly. Absolutely one of my favorite places to eat in NYC.

IM SORRY but they've done their Kaprow better than Thailand i ate ALL OF IT in 10 minutes like a crazy person at the bar. Very attentive staff as well. If you're walking around Bryant park shopping and at the NY library and are craving Thai food come here. Wish I could have tried the papaya salad! The ambiance is sexy too. A full bar with dimmed yellow lights feels more luxury than I was expecting

Really solid. The green curry was spicy and aromatic, with a somewhat uncommon selection of vegetables. The watercress and tofu was light, but savory and substantial enough with the addition of fried tofu. Both of these came with a portion of white rice. These two plus the pork belly noodles came to just over $70 before tax and tip.

Visited again yesterday and really loved the food. I was not disappointed. I'm traveling all the way from NJ just to find authentic Thai food. I had the impressive drink and the same main dish. Ambiance is good. A bit loud because people talk but it's a nice ambiance

Dagg Thai had great flavors, and the drinks were excellent! The portions were a bit on the smaller side for the price, but the food was fresh and tasty. Overall, a good spot if you're looking for Thai food and cocktails.

Stumbled on Dagg after a long day of exploring the city and craving something other than pizza or Italian. The place is very busy so I knew it was good. We tried scallop appetizer and veggie rolls. Both excellent. For main dishes we shared veggie fried rice, curry, and pad Thai. Everything was very good. Portions on small side but was enough. Server friendly and attentive. Only negatives- it's very busy and loud, and water cups are very small. They did do a good job refilling them through out the meal.

I tried Dagg Thai recently using a doordash credit and promo. It was close to where I worked and I had this spot bookmarked. I ordered the lunch special, which came with Chicken Pas See Eiw and Dumplings on the side. The portion was solid for a lunch deal, and the main entrees was alright. My only wish was that they included some hot sauce or chili sauce on the side. Something to give it a little bit of a kick. The dumplings were a nice bonus and the sauce they gave for it. I did step inside to pick up my takeout order, and the place was pretty busy, which is usually a good sign.

I recently visited Dagg Thai and overall had a solid experience, though with a few mixed notes. We made a reservation in advance, which I would definitely recommend since the restaurant stays quite busy. There is a 90 minute dining limit. The food itself was generally good. Portions run on the smaller side, so we actually ended up ordering an extra main to feel fully satisfied. Almost every dish on the menu is marked with a spicy symbol, but honestly the heat level was very manageable, so don't feel intimidated if you're sensitive to spice. The duck unfortunately fell a bit short for me as it tasted somewhat dry and lacked the richness I was hoping for. On the other hand, the fried pork belly noodle and the pad see ew were definite highlights. Both dishes were flavorful, well balanced, and easily the stars of the meal. Ambience is lively and energetic, which adds to the fun atmosphere. Overall, a good spot for flavorful Thai food, especially if you know what to order and come prepared for smaller portions.

This place was so delicious! We got the dagg haeng noodle, scallop bite, and the crab roll. The crab roll was so unbelievably good! I was in love after my first bite. The sauce went really well with it. The servers were really attentive and made sure our water glasses were full. The interior is super modern, although a bit dim. One thing to note: this restaurant waits until your full party is here before seating you.

Charming little restaurant. If you get in right around 11:30, you get a seat right away and then it just fills up. Food was delicious.

We were seated promptly , then given our customary beverage orders (Thai iced tea, of course). And while mulling over the menu with excellent choices , our server Salina suggested certain items for dinner. Her recommendations were spot on. We tried the papaya salad, soft shell crab, deboned duck, crispy pork with noodles. And the crispy branzino... everything was devoured quickly!! The dishes were full of flavor, but some were lacking in spiciness(our request really since we had a friend who could not tolerate spices). The post-meal dessert was very good as well. The coconut one was so delicious and one of my favorites that night The food was just as good. Our waiter recommended the three flavors branzino and it was so fresh and the sweet, tangy, sour and slightly spicy sauce on top was delicious. The ghang phed duck is one of their signatures and the duck was slightly dry but the curry sauce was so savory and flavorful I would order it again just for that. We also got the papaya salad because gotta have your greens For dessert we got the mango sorbet from the summer menu and it was great, just sad we couldn't get the mango sticky rice since it is completely out of season now but loved the mix of the blue sticky rice & mango sorbet together! We started with the curry puffs and satay buns, both of which were easy wins. No complaints, I would happily order them again. The Khao Soi was the highlight of my meal. Rich, comforting, and packed with flavor. I love when restaurants get this right. They also do super thin noodles in the khao soi which is a plus for me. I also tried a little bit of the crab fried rice which was also incredible. I also ordered the lychee mocktail. The drink itself was fairly average, but it came with a lychee mochi that completely stole the show. I honestly enjoyed the mochi more than the drink itself. Overall, this is just good, no-nonsense Thai food. Nothing feels overly gimmicky. The restaurant focuses on solid flavors, a beautiful space, and warm hospitality. I happily introduced her to my two favorite go tos: the crab fried rice and the steamed branzino. The crab fried rice was nothing like I was used to. Even at some of the other notable Thai restaurants I've been to, their crab fried rice presentation was basic compared to this one. The egg on this fried rice was soft and melty the soon it touches your tongue, and we didn't even have to chew it. It melted perfectly with the buttery crab and the rice was so warm and soft. It was a sizable portion but it didn't take us long to gobble it all down. Then came the steamed branzino. The presentation here I want to say is so unique that it blew me away. The fish was cut so that the head and tail of the fish was chopped off (a little disappointed but glad it was clean cut), the fish was so soft you would question if it was even fish...the soup was lightly seasoned with chili and lime and it wasn't super overpoweringly spicy that you can still taste the fish flavor. Everything was delicious and they even had a pre fixe menu that I will definitely come back and try again! My drink I ordered was also very creative and a mix of strong bourbon with the creaminess of Thai tea. Very interesting combination but I don't hate it! It was strong and welcoming and I want to try the other drinks when I come back as well. As pictured, the drink menu is beautiful and our server came back and forth to make sure everything was okay. We actually stayed past closing hours but they weren't rushing us (which was very hospitable of them)
