I ordered the grilled fresh fish tacos from Da Nani Pirates food truck. They were really good, especially the pineapple coleslaw. They were very filling, and I was only able to eat two of the tacos. I took the third taco home and ate it the next day. It was still delicious. If you are looking for a good fish taco, I recommend this place!
Quick service, tasty tacos (shrimp, fried fish and grilled fish, and pork) The ambiance we fine, had a live dj when we went, it's a food truck stop and if there's one thing I have learned while here it's always try the food trucks. Pork taco was OK but highly outshined by the fish and shrimp! Lovely highly recommend. Also the calamari and the sauce that comes with it FANTASTIC!
This food truck is located at the food truck hub near Costco. Probably my favorite mac salad of the trip, and I tried a lot of mac salad. I ordered the pork sliders, and opted for mac and rice instead of fries. It was all really good! The guava bun was excellent and soft, while offering a sweet aspect to the savory dish. They have a huge menu, and the fries are curly. They were really good! The ahi slider also received rave reviews from our group, as did the tacos! There's seating throughout the compound here, just picnic tables. First come first serve. Also, ordering is through a kiosk. Something I'd never seen before, but made life so easy! Highly recommend checking out these food trucks.
Employees were friendly. My husband didn't particularly fancy the mayo and avocado on his sandwich. (he's a picky eater though) He enjoyed the other parts of his sandwich and the hot fries. So many food trucks so little time.
We had a 4 hour layover in Maui before heading to Kauai and wanted to leave the airport for food! The lady at the front desk recommended the food trucks about a mile down the road and we were grateful that we went because the food was delicious(way better than anything at the airport)! This was a quick 5(if even that) Uber ride from the airport and it's a bunch of food trucks and seating under a shade structure! The fish is fresh and the flavor was to die for! The burger bun was guava flavored so it was a perfect hint of sweet added to the flavor! The portion size was massive and was perfect after not eating all day! Would definitely recommend if you need a quick bite to eat on a layover!!
The food is delicious. Curly fries. Fish sandwich. Food truck service. Outside tables with lights and coverage. Gravel lot. Lots of wild chickens. Food to go works too.

Ordered the beer batter fish sliders and they came with French fries. The fries were good and crunchy. The sliders were pretty good too. I would come back!
The garlic shrimp scampi here is amazing along with the service! It's apart of the little food truck parking lot across from Costco. Definitely worth as a snack before we dropped off our rental car. :)
My teenage son really enjoyed this burger. Lots of cheese, caramelized onions, not a lot of greenery and the patty was pretty big. We weren't asked how we wanted the burger cooked so it came out well done. Curly fries were good. The only thing he didn't like about the burger was that the bun was a little hard and overall it was "too much bread".
Fresh catch of the day was maui maui and it was the best fish I've had this trip. Perfectly cooked, very light excellent sauce. Cabbage had a light sweet dressing, Mac salad fresh, even the rice was good. Highly recommend and we'll be back!

We were looking for something to eat and saw all the food trucks and decided to try it out. It was so good, we went back right before catching our flight back to LA! I ordered the battered fish sliders. They were delicious! The sauce it came with really set this fish sandwich a part. The fish was so fresh, and not greasy at all. I also tried the ahi tuna sliders. It was my first time trying ahi tuna and the tuna was soooo fresh and good. They come with seasoned fries that were honestly perfection. For the price and serving size, I'd say this was an amazing deal. I know where I'm stopping whenever I make it back to Maui!

Tasty! Loved the food truck offerings - awesome menu. Man the chickens in the eating area - they were getting aggressive! Back to the food - I really enjoyed the pulled pork, coleslaw, Mac salad and upgraded to hurricane rice. Nice! read more
Oily but good. We got the burger and a side of Jasmine rice and mac salad. They forgot one side of rice unfortunately so check the bag before you leave. As you can see from pics, burger was oily and had a soggy bottom but good flavor otherwise. Lots of wild chickens competing for treasure. Mac salad was good. Rice was fantastic. read more
TLDR: Good food, but service could have been better. Da Nani Pirates is located in Kahului, super close to the airport & other stores as a part of the food truck lot with other eats! We had the calamari, the ahi tacos, & the pulled pork sliders. The Calamari was tender & the fry was perfect, but it was a bit difficult to chew which made it #3 of our 3 plates. We also had the pulled pork sliders with Guava buns & that was #2! It was tasty, but my favorite part of the dish was the curly fries & the house sauce (tasted really really good inside the pork sliders themselves). Our FAVORITE dish was the Ahi Fish Tacos! The Macnut & pepper crust on the Ahi was amazing & the portions of the veggies & fish was perfect for us. ALSO for the price you pay for the tacos, you're definitely getting a good amount of Ahi. We also got this with Ono on the side; the tacos were definitely our #1!! In terms of the seating area, if you want to dine at the food truck lot, there are plenty of tables available, but do keep in mind that there are pretty massive flies that may land & take interest in your food ;) Though the food was delicious, our overall experience with Da Nani Pirates was more on the negative side because of the customer service. When asked about the menu for clarification, our cashier/server seemed extremely aggravated and annoyed, making his responses pretty unhelpful in answering some of the questions we had. Additionally, my husband did want some extra protein on our tacos, so we clicked the "extra ono" option on the screen. When he got our receipt, he called out my husband's name and passive aggressively said, "dude you know that Ono isn't Ahi" and proceeded to speak to him in a condescending tone. I would've given Da Nani Pirates a 4/5 just based on food, however I do believe that customer service is paramount and I always reserve that one star just for customer service. With that said, I do think that Da Nani Pirates is worth a try & hope that your experience is better than ours. read more

I ordered the grilled fresh fish tacos, the beer battered fried fish tacos, a side of curly fries and a aloha maid drink which came out to be a total of $48. The meal did not disappoint, the tacos were amazing! The fish was really fresh, well seasoned and not dry at all. The sauce, cabbage and pineapples in the taco also really enhanced the overall flavor. I highly recommend stopping by if you're visiting Maui & looking to eat some fish tacos! read more

I don't know if it was because we were the last customers or they were just tired but, so dissatisfied. My wife got the hurricane chicken plate - the sauce was horrible along with the portion, doesn't compare to what is displayed. I got the Kalypso burger - the batter to fish ratio was ugh, there was HAIR in the battered fish, the guava bun, BRUH, it was dry as hell, I literally ate the bottom half of the bun and threw the rest out because it wasn't enjoyable. Idk if we will eat here again. While we were waiting, the cook was on his phone, while handling the food, when I say handling, plating and shit so that was a red flag. Unsanitary as fuck. However, the man who took our order had excellent customer service. read more
I have been to their Kihei location a hamdful times in the past. I was in the mood for some fish n' chips a few months ago and decided to give their Kahului location a try as well. This food truck is located at the new food truck lot by the Costco and Krispy Kreme intersection stop light where a number of other food trucks are available. Their sister businesses, Tsunami Burger, Aloha Thai Fusion, and Kraken Coffee are located here as well. There's ample parking available and the great part is they've added in covered tables to enjoy your meals at. As far as the food truck goes, their menu is pretty much exactly the same with salads, sliders, tacos, wraps, plate lunches, pupus and more. I ordered the fish n' chips and it was ready within 10 minutes. The portion was very generous with a bed of curly fries on the bottom and topped with 4 large pieces of fish. It came with their 2 sauces, a tartar sauce and their mango BBQ sauce. The mango BBQ is what sets their fish n' chips apart from the everyone else. Unfortunately, the fish n chips kind of fell flat altogether. It seems that the recipe has changed from what I could tell? The batter of the fish tasted different, was a different texture, and just didn't have that "wow" effect from all the previous times I've visited their Kihei location. I was a little disappointed, but I just added salt and vinegar, which I never had to do previously because the mango bbq sauce made up for everything and was so good. Not sure if it was an off day, but I asked others and it does seem like it's not same anymore. Perhaps I'll try something else in the future, but won't be in a hurry to go back. read more

"This place has the best Seared Ahi! No THIS place has the best Seared Ahi!" Hawaii. It's been awhile. Ya'll really like your Seared Ahi huh? Tell me why the minute I touch down in Maui, everywhere I look on the yelps, people are talking about Seared Ahi? I love sushi. But Tuna isn't really my go to. I'm more of an Unagi or Salmon guy. But recently Da Nini's changed my perspective completely. We had just got off 5 hour flight from Cali. We be hungry. What's easy? Especially when you are trying figure out your life? DoorDash silly. As I'm checking what's available in DoorDash and checking Yelps I kept seeing Ahi Taco's everywhere. It was so much that I felt like that universe was telling me what I had to ordered. Yep. I ordered the Seared Ahi Tacos. Now if you love Sushi, I HIGHLY recommend them. This is basically the fusion of Mexican food with Sushi. You have the sesame crusted but yet super freshness of the fish. Then you throw it in these tortillas made from scratch. But then you finally add some leafy greens, fresh cilantro and the finale...Wasabi Lime Crema. This dish is a masterpiece. Even if you aren't a seafood but appreciate Steak, this might be your gateway into Seafood. The Ahi is traditionally prepared like you would a tri tip or any other kind of steak really. You want to taste all the juiciness and flavor of the meat so cooking less is more. Not to the extent of Sushi but definitely close. I believe it is cooked(I could be wrong) but not long which really makes you appreciate the fish. I get it Maui. I get Hawaii. I would expect you to have some bomb fish dishes. Prices seem fair to me too. I'm on an island. Theres like no taxes here which is beside the point. I think people that complain about prices must have never been to California. These Tacos could easily push past the $20.00 mark. The tacos are big and you get 3. I feel like for the price in California you would only get 2. And don't hit me with this, "oh the place around the block sells way better at ____ price." Are they Ahi Taco's? Are they at least twice the size of Street Taco's? This is seafood and on top of that its fresh and a favorite on the islands. Respect the cuisine. If this is a taste of what's to come on this Vacation, Da Nini Pirates definitely started started us off on a good note. read more

The seared ahi tacos were tasty. Great mix of ingredients prepared well. The food court vibe here feels hot and sticky to me, the picnic tables seem dirty, but the food is good. Maybe taking it elsewhere to eat or enjoying from the car is a better option. read more

Went here tonight. It wasn't that busy which is nice. Looked at the menu and I saw i wanted fried chicken. I love me some fried chicken. We also got fish and chips. The fish tonight was Ono.. Okay put in our order. It took about 15 minutes for 3 plates to be made. Hey that's not bad no problem. But when I opened my plate I saw 3 tiny small pieces of chicken. I guess the picture on the menu is misleading. It looks so nice. Don't get me wrong it tasted okay. But I thought I would get a little more for what I've paid. The ono was pretty good. Nice size portion. The girl working the window was friendly and nice. Maybe I'll be back to try something different. The food truck looked clean. Its a nice red. read more

This was our first stop in maui!! We checked out all of the other food trucks and this one caught our eye. I love buffalo chicken anything, so i ordered the buffalo chicken tacos. My boyfriend doesn't like buffalo sauce, and he LOVED these tacos. The tacos are by far the best buffalo flavour ANYTHING that i have EVER TRIED. And i have eaten a lot of buffalo sauce in my life. I LOVE this food truck. I visit my daughter in Kihei every May/June and make a stop at this truck as part of my to-do list. My favorite item on the menu is the Kalypso, a fish sandwich on the best roll - slightly sweet and delicious. The fish is crunchy and the cole slaw provides a wonderful cool contrast. Add tasty, well seasoned fries, and you've got a great meal. Trust me. I devoured this sandwich - Twice (2 separate visits) in 2023 and ate it again in 2024. I'll be eating it in 2025 too. AHI TUNA SLIDERS ARE INSANE! Great portion for the price. You'll pay $20 bucks for two large sliders and fry's and everything taste great. Maybe ask for extra wasabi-life sauce? Great spot to hit after arriving in Maui. read more

Da Nani Pirates turned in to Da Money Pirates today! We ordered the calamari and got catfished upon opening up our container! In the pixr it shows multiple pieces and we only received 3 skinny strip pieces for $16!! Super lame. I will go and eat there again and they will get an ear full if they do this to us again. Decided to grab some lunch before taking the road around the north end of the island, backwards, I suppose. The food truck group near Costco offer variety and good taste and usually in pretty good time. My wife had a tasty chicken pasta bowl from Pele's and I went to one of my favorites, Da Nani's. Today I chose the pork sliders on the guava passion fruit bun with pineapple barbecue sauce and crispy tasty Cole slaw on top. The two sliders make a great lunch. Add in some seasoned curly fries and a side of Mac salad and I was ready for the narrow, windy road with the breathtaking views. Da Nani's offers a great fish menu as well- I just felt like pork today. read more

Best Mac salad we've found on the island. Well worth the stop after you get off the plane or before you head home. The seared ahi was amazing! Great selection of fish, pork (highly recommend the sliders or big kahuna), plate lunch, salads and burgers. Super friendly guys. Try the hurricane fries. You won't be disappointed with anything you try. Lots of tables to sit outside under a canopy. read more

I ordered the Grilled Fresh Fish with Cilantro Crema Sauce & Pineapple Coleslaw and I'm glad I did. There were three tacos to the order and the serving size of fish per taco was pretty generous, about two ounces per taco if I had to guesstimate. The sauce & coleslaw complimented the taco perfectly and it required no other condiments. Delicious! read more
