Stopped by from the airport to try some shrimp. We ordered the shrimp tacos. I know things on the island can be expensive and this is no exception, $22 for 3 tacos. The tacos themselves were big but the shrimp pieces in each were very skinny and over battered. You couldn't even taste the shrimp in the taco. It was very average tasting, nothing to write home about. I've had similar tasting shrimp tacos in landlocked areas of the USA. They left a lot to be desired unfortunately.

My mom got garlic shrimp and my dad got Cajun shrimp. They both enjoyed it so much! And John had the best customer service! Great food for them and great service! Thanks for making them has such a nice experience to end 2025, John! :-)

Spicy Thai basil shrimp and shrimp po' boy with fries

My husband and I had a tasty lunch here at Maui Shrimp. I loved my po' boy - the garlicky shrimp worked so well with the aoli and crunchy slaw, and the fries were beautifully crisp. My husband's spicy Thai basil shrimp was too spicy for me, but he enjoyed the spice level, but wasn't obsessed with the Thai basil flavor. The texture of the shrimp in both our dishes was unreal. It was cooked perfectly and seemed SO fresh. We'd definitely come back for the po' boy and try another entree next time too.

This is our first meal in Maui. We are driving to the airport and found this place next to target bunch of food trucks. This was one of them and loved their appearance but I felt they were very pricey because it charged me $80 for five shrimp otherwise I would've taken all the stuff too, but the guy was really super nice and very good people. The ambience was definitely nice because it was on the ground and a bunch of other food trucks

On the order and pay system at the front of the truck I chose the lemon pepper garlic shrimp with extra rice. Overall it was flavorful, delicious and garlic was not overpowering. I was full afterwards. I just wish I didn't order the extra rice. It wasn't worth it. The plate itself for garlic shrimp was quite affordable compared to other places that charge $18 and up. They automatically add tip which I didn't like. I chose to have my receipt emailed to me. I entered my email yet never received my receipt which was disappointing. It took some time to get my plate even though no one was ahead of me and the plate wasn't exactly huge. This truck was just alright.

Ordered the spicy Thai basil shrimp and tempura tacos. Both were very fresh and delicious. The Thai basil wasn't spicy in my opinion but was great and full of flavor. The tacos were great and shrimp was nice and crispy.

We landed in Maui around lunch time and we were hungry! So, we ended up at the food truck park across Costco! We got the walnut honey rosemary shrimp plate. OMG! It was soooo good! I don't think I have ever had anything like this before! I would definitely get this again! So, if you are craving shrimp, I would definitely try this place!

Spicy Thai Basil Shrimp was amazing!!! The flavor was incredible and the portion size was large. I didn't realize it already came with rice so I ordered an unnecessary extra rice on the side. Add it to the list of another reason I just have to come back to Maui!

When you're in Maui, how can you say no to food trucks? Especially if it's a shrimp food truck? With chickens roaming around and the smell of garlic in the air, there's no better place to eat these garlic shrimps than at the food truck area. My mouth was watering as I awaited my dish to come out. The first bite didn't disappoint. Neither was the second, third or last bite. The flavoring is just right and it was simply delicious. There's other food trucks around here, but I didn't have a chance to try them out.

This Maui Shrimp truck is top notch! The sweet chili mango shrimp was the best meal we've eaten in Maui and we've eaten at some fancy places! It's located super close to the airport. We ordered through a kiosk and the service was speedy! It was located in a parking lot so not the nicest.

Spicy Thai Basil Shrimp (rating: 4.5/5)

At the airport car rental pickup, the staff recommended this food truck park to us. The good variety and interesting selections at the park immediately triggered our interests. After exploring all the menus I settled for Maui Shrimp, given the reviews of "fresh quality of shrimp" and "good value for the price". It definitely didn't disappoint! For the ~$15 price, the quality of the shrimp and the portion size were outstanding. I didn't count exactly how many shrimps they gave me, but it was a lot. It was meant to be a quick refreshment after a long flight, before a proper dinner. After i was halfway thru the box, I realized there was no need for dinner The shrimps were very fresh - tender with some crunchiness. Spicy Thai Basil, as recommended by the staff, was a great flavor to go for. I'd prefer it to be spicier, but it was certainly flavorful enough. Note: the Spicy Thai Basil flavor will leave you a garlic breath.

Ginger Pineapple Teriyaki & Cajun shrimp plates ($14.95 each)

The four of us had just landed in Maui and were ravenous after only eating a couple snacks during our 6.5-hour flight. After a quick drive from the airport to this food truck park, we found that only about five trucks were open (it was Easter Sunday), and gladly decided on Maui Shrimp. Their menu features two different shrimp plate options ($14.95 each), both of which include rice. Choose between Classic Peel N Eat or Garlic Scampi. Then you select a "style" (the sauce) from seven different types ranging from sweet to savory to spicy. They also offer shrimp sandwiches and tacos. It was about 2:00PM, so my family decided to get two shrimp plates ($14.95 each) and share since this was just something to hold us over until dinner in a few hours. After placing our order, we grabbed a table until our name was called by the cashier about 20 minutes later. It seemed a tad chaotic as people who ordered after us got their food first, and one customer returned their food after apparently being given the wrong one. + CAJUN (GARLIC SCAMPI) PLATE: The flavors of bold Southern spices definitely came through as the menu described. It included slices of bell pepper and onions which were nice additions. I had requested their "mild" Cajun sauce since I was not sure how spicy "hot" would be... after tasting it, I should have gone with the hot one. Despite being flavorful, the sauce really didn't have much heat to it at all. Also, this dish was really oily. My whole layer of rice at the bottom of the box was covered in oil, so I couldn't finish it. + GINGER PINEAPPLE TERIYAKI (GARLIC SCAMPI) PLATE: Eh, this one was just okay. There were actually slices of julienned ginger on top, so only get this if you love ginger. However, the slices turned out to be tough and not enjoyable to eat. Also, the sauce was much more sweet than salty. Had we known, we would have passed on this one. Each dish contained about eight shrimp and they were cooked well. Even with the sauces covering them, the natural shrimp flavor was still noticeable. Looking past the couple minor hiccups mentioned earlier, I thought service was fine overall. We really only interacted with the cashier, but she was friendly. We asked for a bottle of water and since she didn't have any cold ones left, she held ours in the fridge until our order was ready. We appreciated the consideration. 3.25 stars.

    Popcorn shrimp & fries
    Chelsie F.

Maui Shrimp is located in the food truck park in Kahului across from Costco. The popcorn shrimp & fries is actually my boyfriends favorite thing to order from here. Which is perfect for snacking on the drive home. I'll feed him the big fries & I'll snack on the small ones. Because I'm that type of girlfriend that wasn't hungry when he ordered but always likes to sample. Plus if you go during high traffic times for lunch or dinner seats might be limited. Or if you do find a seat you'll get to complete with the chickens for your food. I just don't recommend feeding them, unless you want to be surrounded by all of them fighting for your food. Xoxo, ChelsieFletcher

We've been coming here for years and I've always enjoyed my experiences here, but last night I had a dish that compelled me to write a review. The oxtail soup which is listed as a favorite is a dish I've been eyeing for a while, but it's usually been too warm for me to crave it. But last night was the night. I'm getting over a cold and it's been raining off and on for weeks. The bowl arrived at the table with a plate underneath - smart move because it takes some work to eat oxtail soup. Armed with my fork and spoon, I went at it. The first taste floored me. It was perfectly seasoned and I could taste the fresh ginger, the broth was a beautiful brown color, there was plenty of napa cabbage and it came with a dish of a scoop of glossy steamed rice and steamed carrots, zucchini and broccoli. Our waitress offered to bring over condiments so I went for the soy sauce - sprinkled on the rice and veggies, I noticed that the veggies might have had a little sesame oil flavor on them so that made me happy. A spoonful of rice dunked into the broth with some of the tender fall of the bone oxtail meat, and a little crunch of the napa cabbage and I was in absolute heaven. I tasted my husband's pork adobo and that was equally as delicious as always. But that soup - that's what really did it for me last night and stays with me today. I walked out of Tante's with a swollen and happy belly and a fresh, tiny piece of ginger stuck between my teeth...a treat for later.

They've been part of the island's food scene for over 12 years now, and I still remember their off-the-beaten-path spot on Hobron Avenue in Kahului. You would have never guessed there was delicious food being served up there, but those who knew, knew. These days, you can find them in Kahului parked at Da Tambayan Corner on Lono Avenue, or sometimes popping up out at Ho'okipa. Now, full disclosure -- I don't eat raw fish, so I can't personally vouch for their poke bowls, but that's what they're known for and I've had a number of friends and family enjoy it. What I can vouch for, though, is their fried poke -- perfectly seasoned ahi cubes, floured and fried, served over rice and lettuce, and drizzled with a creamy mayo aioli. Get it hurricane style for extra sauce and furikake seasoning -- it's delicious and gives it an extra boost as once in a while it's on the drier side. Another favorite is the poke bake, which is just as satisfying and generously portioned. Started getting this recently and it hits the spot. Highly recommend either dish, especially if you're like me and prefer your fish cooked. And whatever you do, don't skip the furikake fries -- curly fries topped with aioli and furikake. SO good. Beyond the great food, my team has worked with Like Poke for company events, and they're always a hit. Friendly service and consistent quality eats that keep people coming back -- they're a favorite among locals for a reason.

Food: We ordered the honey walnut shrimp, miso butterfish, garlic furikake fries, hamachi sashimi, garlic noodles, and crispy chicken. My favorite was the hamachi sashimi. What I enjoyed about this dish was the diced maui onion that offset the citrus from the ponzu. The flavors are light, and refreshing. The most disappointing was the crispy chicken. I thought it was too salty, but that's my preference and salt tolerance. The miso butterfish was also a great dish. The fish was buttery and flavored well. Not too saucy but the perfect amount of sauce. Service: Service is friendly, like most of the restaurants on Maui. The food was served in a timely manner.
