Hands down the best food I had on the island…read more The owner greeted us, and was super kind! He helped us pick what to order -- which was phenomenal, and lets us make some substitutions since we didn't eat one part of the special offered. We got the fried cod special which came with slaw, potato/Mac salad, a drink and then we ordered a side of volcano fries. First, the cook on the cod was great. Super flaky and flavorful! The slaw and Mac salad were what I was expecting from Hawaii, truly delicious and we honestly could eat just bowls of those! The volcano fries were also good with the sauce they came with. The patio outside was great for family seating, and even better, they had an array of kids toys in side to keep my toddler busy. Wish we had more time to go back tbh. All other local food that we tried didn't compare.

Maui Fish'n Chips hit the spot and was definitely worth the visit…read more Maui Fish'n Chips is tucked in the corner of a small plaza in Kihei, as most places seem to be. This place has a decent amount of covered seating outside, but no seating inside. The menu is simple, and you order inside. We ordered the Cod Fish with rice, Coconut shrimp, deep fried zucchini, and a side of potato mac salad. The fish and chips were easily the best thing we ate. The fish had outstanding flavor and were battered and fried perfectly. If we only ordered the fish and chips, this place would get an easy 5 stars, no questions asked. Unfortunately, the rest of the food we ate was meh. The coconut shrimp were large and had good coconut flavor, but were overcooked and a little burnt, which altered the overall flavor. But I am guessing if it wasn't burnt, it would have great. I typically love deep fried zucchini, so I was excited to try it here. If didn't meet expectations though (sad face). The zucchini slices were cut very thin, and when deep-fried, I felt like I tasted more of the fried breading than I did the actual zucchini. My wife is a big macaroni and potato salad person, and she was not impressed. She said it had too much mayo and not enough substance.... I was pleased with the service and staff! Everyone that worked there was really nice and helpful. I also appreciate all the seating outside. I also thought it was cool they had a lot of board games for kids to use while we waited for our food. Very unique and solid addition! This place gets a solid 4 stars. If they made little tweaks to the rest of their side dishes, this place could easily be one of the better places to eat in Maui.

The staff was super welcoming and attentive. We had the traditional poke bowl and fish tacos, today's catch was ahi tuna. At first bite it was amazing and could say it was one of the best meals I've had in my life. You will want to come back for dinner! They may close early or run out of menu items, so come early!

There is a small parking lot on the side and street parking by the library across the street. The main draw here is the poke but they also serve fish tacos and fish plates. They sell only locally-caught fish which changes daily. For poke there are only two options: traditional and spicy. We got one of each ($22 each) and I preferred the traditional as it was saltier and had more flavor. I'm used to seeing more than just two flavors but it's fine. What I didn't like was that the rice in my bowl was hard like it had been out for a while. The other bowl was fine so I'm not sure what happened there. $46 total for two bowls seems like a higher price than normal for sushi, and the spicy one was just okay. Note that there is a 3% charge for using card.

This was hands down the BEST food we've had on the island!…read more We went to Paia and stood on the long line, and while the food was good, it honestly didn't compare to this place. The fish here was absolutely phenomenal! We had the macadamia nut mahi-mahi and the blackened mahi-mahi, and the kids had the fish tacos. Everything tasted SO fresh, juicy, flavorful, and just out of this world. The staff was also amazing, and the whole vibe is so chill and relaxing. We seriously can't wait to come back. This place is a MUST!

There's plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, though the outdoor area gets full sun in the evening. The menu is extensive with tons of options, and the cashier was super friendly and helpful with her recommendations. Fish Tacos They're known for their Fish Tacos, so we had to try them. The fish is a fried blend of Mahi Mahi and Ono, cooked perfectly--crispy, flavorful, and delicious with the pineapple pico. The tortillas are packed with fish; you can easily make two tacos out of one. Absolutely a must‑try. Poke Nachos The Poke Nachos were great. We ordered the spicy poke with a mayo base. The chips were solid, though the dish could use some jalapeño or serrano to kick up the heat. Tiger Sauce Their homemade tiger sauce is sweet, spicy, and slightly vinegary--really tasty. Drinks They serve Kona Brewing Co. on tap. The Lemongrass Luau is excellent.
