Calamari, seafood pasta
Christina R.

When my friends and I arrived, it was quite empty in there, but overall the place is quite beautifully decorated. The truffle fries and calamari were definitely the highlights here. If you want a quiet space after work with happy hour drinks and satisfactory food, this is the spot!

Tucked away in the financial district we found this amazing Italian restaurant. The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. We started with the polpettine and the texture and sauce were probably one of the best I've ever had. Next I tried the Garganelli (bolognese) which was delicious, but a little salty for me. Lastly we shared the tiramisu, and again one of the best I've ever tried. The place just gave you a comfortable and elegant feel.

This place is so warm and inviting! Great atmosphere and the service was terrific. Claudio himself welcomed us in and we had a wonderful time chatting in Italiano. It's a family affair and was lovely to meet his wife and son who tend to their family ristorante! Grazie Claudio!

Tried this upscale Italian restaurant out since it was recommended by Steve Chen !! The owner himself is just full of positive energy!! Love it!! Food here was surprisingly delicious!! My steak was cooked perfectly & served with these yummy potatoes & the sauce was amazing!! The house made pasta with chicken was also delicious as well!! Ambiance was nice & calming, Flora our waitress was attentive & on top of our orders!! Staff came around several times to refill our waters!! I highly recommend to give it a try if you're around the Fidi area!! You must meet Claudio, if you're not having a great day, I'm sure he can easily cheer you up!!

Da Claudio is a welcoming Italian restaurant. What I really liked that the owner was there and greeted us. It has a neighborhood feel even for being downtown. The lasagne offered very tender noodles and tasted like it was just made. It had Waygu beef but I am not sure I could tell the difference. Server staff were attentive and there were some fun Italian wines with the meal. Bread comes with olive oil. This place just had a great vibe.

Pasta vongole

I sat at the bar after a very long delay in Allentown where we were diverted due to tri state airports being closed for 4 hours during peak times. This made up for it. Great service. The pasta vongole was amazing. I highly recommend. It made my 8 hours of travel that should have been 3 more acceptable!

Come here from time to time since the restaurant is very close by to where I live. Food I'd good but nothing outstanding and service is quite good.

Ordered a Cadillac Margarita (Casamigos) for me + Vodka Martini (Grey Goose) for my partner + thick Fries + Slice of Chocolate Cake Drinks weren't anything special but the fries were hreat and cake hit the spot. Actually, I'm so glad we stumbled in because their cute and short food menu is PERFECTION for lovers of small bites -- crab dumplings, caviar deviled eggs, spicy tuna crispy rice, shrimp cocktail, oysters, sardines, etc... Things I dream of all in one sexy, cozy place that whisks you far away from the streets of Manhattan. Our chairs were comfy, and there were many seating areas that looked equally as inviting. The bar was gorgeous, lighting was super moody. The room was daaark and not very busy on a Friday around 8-8:30 P.M which we appreciated. The staff were very hospitable and helpful, giving suggestions on what to order and telling us about some of the preparation, like the brine for the fried chicken that incorporates tea for flavour. We had the Caviar Tater Tots ($29), which were tasty and a fun concept, but I thought a little pricey. We shared the fried chicken ($36), which I also thought was high, even for Tribeca. I wish there had been more than two hushpuppies, which I enjoyed. The fried chicken was very juicy and I liked the spices used in the coating. My friend was celebrating her birthday, which I told the manager about on the D.L. He had the waitress bring a big piece of the bread pudding and put a candle in it. My friend was completely surprised and chuffed. The bread pudding was dense, but not heavy and delicious. It reminded us a little of kugel. I appreciated them gifting the dessert: a very thoughtful gesture. I'd like to go back to try a cocktail, the crab dip and the lobster roll (but preferably with someone else picking up the tab).

I picked Chambers for my husband's birthday dinner primarily because of the exceptional wine…read moreprogram, but also because the food is supposed to be really good, too. It delivered on both fronts, but I really was blown away by the wine. The sheer quantity of available wines is really impressive, and the sommelier was able to recommend a rare wine that fit our interests (a fantastic, effervescent, creamy Txakoli that had lovely fruit and minerals). Later, I tried amazing ice cider. The food rundown: -Sesame pizza Bianca: complimentary bread! This was very good and quite sizable. The bottom is entirely encrusted with sesame. -Scallop crudo (rhubarb, shiso): very good and the plating was gorgeous. Meaty scallops with tangy and pungent flavors. -Snowdance chicken (spinach, sherry, thyme): Super tender, crispy-skinned chicken in a savory sherry sauce. -Sea bass (asparagus, hollandaise): I was surprised at how remarkably well this dish worked. The asparagus was so good with the rich, buttery sauce. Definitely a smaller portion, but the chicken was huge so it balanced out. -Potatoes with ramps: Yum. Served hashbrown-style and the ramps were added as little sauce dollops. I loved the space, and by that I mean the ambience and also the literal amount of space we had to ourselves. We got to stretch out in a roomy corner booth. The room featured a lot of exposed brick and grey and utilitarian ceilings, but it manages to be cozy all the same.

Chambers is a charming, intimate restaurant with a warm, compact dining room, an ample bar area,…read moreand even two chef's-kitchen bar seats that give the room a little extra theater. Unfortunately, the food never really lived up to the setting. The meal started with the scallops with sweet corn and espelette. They were fine, which ended up being one of the more positive assessments of the night. My father had the Peekytoe crab with peach and brioche, which was also okay. My mother had the Norwich Meadows carrots with yogurt and carrot-top pesto, and that was where the meal started feeling flat. Nothing was technically offensive, but there was very little excitement or depth to the plate. Portions were consistently small, which became harder to ignore as the meal went on. For mains, my father ordered the heritage pork sausage with shrimp, Jimmy Nardello peppers and cilantro. The dish only really came together when you got the sausage and pepper in the same bite, but there was very little of it, and on its own the sausage was not especially compelling. I ordered the Snowdance chicken with spinach, sherry and thyme, which is apparently one of the restaurant's signature dishes. My father and I switched halfway through because he liked the chicken more than I did. I found it surprisingly weak: essentially a pounded chicken preparation that was bland, average and nowhere near what I would expect from a signature entrée at this price. My mother had the housemade bucatini with zucchini, Tarentaise and mint. It was strange rather than satisfying, and none of us particularly liked it. Service was much better than the food. Our server was good, and the secondary service was even better. They did forget one of my father's drinks, but replaced it without issue. I still left 22% because the kitchen's problems were not the server's fault. Dessert finally produced the best dish of the night: the mascarpone with phyllo, cinnamon caramel and lemon pistachios. That was genuinely good. I then figured I would order the cheese because, at minimum, how badly can you mess up cheese? The answer was not badly, exactly, but absurdly. The "cheese and crackers" course was two small pieces of Appalachian cheese for the table. Two pieces. For three people. That pretty much captured the meal. The restaurant has obvious Gramercy Tavern DNA in its restraint, seasonal ingredients and minimalist plating, but this felt like a much less successful version of that philosophy. When this style works, simplicity feels precise and confident. Here, too often, it just felt sparse, underdeveloped and expensive. For three people, with appetizers, entrées, three cocktails, one glass of wine, dessert, cheese and tip, the total came to roughly $472. At that price, "fine" is not enough.

We came in on a Friday evening and it was pretty quiet inside. After we were sat down upstairs, it took a long time for our waitress to come to take our order. We got the Butterscotch flip, Getaway driver, and Big trouble. These drinks were not it. Although the prices are okay($19 each), they definitely need some improvement. All three had very strong flavors that were not balanced with the rest of the drink. After we finished our drinks, we waited an especially long time for the waitress to come back, check on us, and give us our bill. It was especially frustrating because we were the only ones in the bar at this point and we could hear them chatting downstairs. Overall, both service and the drinks need improvement.
