Convenient location near subways. Party of 4 on a Monday night. Beautiful August evening, sat outside. The outdoor dining is a beautiful hidden gem with a lot of seats. It was so nice out that nobody was dining indoors when we arrived, and the only people indoors when we left were a couple people sitting at the bar. On Mondays there are margarita specials - both margarita cocktails and margarita pizzas! To start we shared a margarita pizza and a bottle of white wine (Albarino). After we got our food, 2 of us ordered the rosemary spiced margarita cocktails (don't remember the full name) but it was delicious. For entrees: 2 Atlantic Salmon, 1 Crispy Chicken Paillard, 1 Heirloom Carrot Ravioli. I had the Atlantic Salmon but tasted the others, all were very good. Lindens is a personal fav. While in the neighborhood, my friends wanted a sit down restaurant and this was my suggestion. The service was great. We had a great server and hostess. For apps, the fries with the truffle aioli and the parker rolls were consistently amazing! For entrees, I ordered the chicken pillard. I do wish the dish came with another side for balance. The chicken was served as thin filets, crispy and fried topped with greens in a zesty and acidic sauce. If you're looking for a great restaurant and good tasting food, this is the one! My friend and I came here for dinner a few weeks ago and the ambiance is lovely. It's inside the Arlo hotel and they have indoor seating as well as a beautiful outdoor patio area to sit at (which is what we opted for). We ordered a few things to share including the Parker house rolls and the crispy fennel pita. Out of the two appetizers, I'd definitely order the pita again as the house rolls were a bit on the heavy side. For entrees, we ordered the spring onion and squash blossom tempura and the hanger steak. My friend really enjoyed the steak and I thought the tempura was quite tasty. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate chip cookies and they were delicious. The service was very good at the beginning, but as the night went on and it became more crowded, it became more difficult to flag down our server. Loved every minute of my dining experience at Lindens - Our waiter John couldn't have been nicer. Since we were there on Monday which happened to be Margarita Monday we opted for specially priced Margaritas ($12) and Margherita pizzas ($15) which were 10/10. I got the carrot raviolis which were wildly addictive with the balsamic offering the perfect bite to each piece. The rhubarb crème brûlée (not pictured because it was eaten too fast was also a must). The food here was surprisingly REALLY good! My fave was the Honeynut Squash Ravioli, the flavors really ooze out of the ravioli and the butter ties it all together. It's a nice spot, kind of dark, but good for a girls night or date night. Had a really great experience at Lindens in the Arlo SoHo during happy hour. The bartender was incredibly knowledgeable and made really good recommendations. The happy hour oysters were only $1.50 each and super fresh easily one of the best deals I've found in the area. Lindens was located in the Arlo SoHo hotel, just north of Canal Street and just east of the Holland Tunnel, making it a bit out of the way. I had been wanting to try it for years, but was always concerned that certain friends might find it a hike from their transportation hubs. However, I recently included it on a list of dinner options with some friends, and they were so interested in the menu that they were fine with the location, which was fantastic news for me. As I was approaching the restaurant on our selected evening, I received a message in our group chat that some of the folks had already arrived and were waiting for the rest of us in their "yurt in the courtyard". Well, that sure sounded exciting, and I was thrilled to discover them relaxing in a sort of wicker tent with a large, private table and plenty of room for our party of five. Throughout the night, we had several members of the waitstaff check in on us, which was a bit confusing, but William was our primary server and was very friendly. Once I took my seat, I picked up the cocktail list and was immediately drawn to the Rosemary Spiced Margarita, which turned out to be an excellent choice. It had smokey notes from its inclusion of Sel Maguey Vida Mezcal, heat from habanero, tartness from grapefruit and lime, herbaceousness from fresh rosemary, and a touch of sweetness from agave. It was perfection! We ordered starters for the table, including the Parker House Rolls with seasonal leek butter. The zesty, creamy spread was delicious, but the rolls were not the best. They were served as four thick slices that had been baked together into a small loaf and had been overcooked or toasted to the point where they were crunchy and dry. They were a letdown. To continue our carb-fest, we also got the Crispy Fennel Pita, which was similar to a lengthy flatbread that was sprinkled with various herbs like fresh fennel. It was served with a whipped feta that had been topped with a mint pesto and balsamic vinegar. Despite that bread course being labeled as "crispy", it was more chewy than anything, but I enjoyed it prepared as it was. Both the pita and the feta were sprinkled with herbs that really enhanced the flavors of two items that might otherwise be on the blander side. Lastly, we shared the Hamachi Crudo, which was delicate, fresh, and served in a tangy broth composed of jalapeno, cilantro, lemon oil, and a citrus paprika sauce. After all of those appetizers, we each opted for individual main courses, and I selected the Branzino. The grilled filet was topped with a Ceringola olive tapenade and served over a burnt eggplant-tahini, both of which really enhanced the Mediterranean flavors of the dish. The branzino had also been perfectly prepared with tender meat and light notes of char. My companions all liked their meals, and we all also agreed on the deliciousness of the side of fries we had placed in the center of the table. The massive bowl of thinly-cut, crispy fries had been sprinkled with either Cajun or Old Bay seasoning and were served with small cups of truffle mayo and ketchup on the side. The potatoes were tasty on their own and especially so after dipping them into the aromatic mayo. Lastly, we were debating on how many desserts to order to satisfy our needs for a sweet finale to the experience. We wound up getting a plate of their Chocolate Chip Cookies, which were baked fresh to order. William had let us know that the platter included six "bite-sized" treats, which I thought would not be enough, but they were actually larger than I had anticipated. They were also sinfully delicious with loads of gooey chocolate chunks in each one. My friends also ordered the Creme Brûlée. I had not read the details of Lindens' particular rendition, as custardy desserts usually do not appeal to me. However, I took a spoonful and was shocked to discover how unique it was. Beneath the traditional crunchy topping and decadent creme was a surprising layer of fresh apple compote that was not overly sweet. Together, it made such a heavenly bite! The plate also included a thin wedge of pie dough that had been backed into a crunchy cookie. In addition to the beautiful weather on that Spring evening, our dinner was made that much better by the delightful meal and ambiance at Lindens. It was one of those hotel restaurants that exceeded even locals' expectations. read more

They have a very cute courtyard with outdoor seating. The bar was very slow though - the restaurant was under 50% capacity and the drinks still took a long time. I love burrata as much as the next person, so did enjoy their burrata but wouldn't say it was that special. The chicken paillard was my main and it was pretty tasty! It's crispy vs grilled. I would have preferred a higher ratio of greens bc by the end I was just eating (tasty) fried chicken. I would go back for the ambiance and rare cute/nice outdoor seating close to Canal street. The cookie dessert was more than sufficient for our party of 2, and they did bring us complimentary after dinner drinks to make up for the slow speed of the earlier drinks. read more

We came here for a date night and were thoroughly impressed. To start, every dish we had was delicious, my favorite of the night was the asparagus and artichoke tempura, very light and fluffy crispy coating and the sauce was perfect. The kumquat mule I had was also excellent, a nice sweetness to really amplify the traditional Moscow mule. As for ambiance, the enclosed courtyard was such a nice atmosphere with warmers at the tables in case it gets a little chilly. As for the service, they really knocked it out of the park. We felt we were well taken care of, when we had to wait longer or if there was a hiccup in the kitchen, they were kind enough to provide us some beverages for our troubles. They also had freed up more servers to the end, and were very attentive and checked in on us regularly. I have been to the restaurant. About four different times now. Each time has only been a great experience. The staff is incredibly helpful with recommendations about items on the menu and well versed on them. The restaurant can be either a bit quiet or loud. Depending on the crowd. That's there. I went with the Shishito Julep, and it was perfect. The food was out of this world. The sausage breakfast sandwich, citrus salad, and summer carrot ravioli were all phenomenal -- the ravioli especially was the perfect balance of savory, herby, buttery, silken goodness with that touch of pancetta. And you must try the fresh-baked bread loaf with herb butter... it's heavenly. The vibe here is just as great as the food: farm-to-table freshness, a warm atmosphere, and staff that feel friendly in a way that's almost familiar, like you've known them forever. I needed to book Sunday brunch for a large group of 9, including 2 small children and 1 dog, 2 weeks out. During my search, I came across many restaurants with street side outdoor seating, which I am not a fan of, but would take it if there were no other options. Then, I stumbled upon Linden's. Linden's is part of the Arlo Hotel and offers indoor and outdoor dining. Their outdoor dining space is a gorgeous and ENCLOSED courtyard with an urban chic feel to it. It was perfect for our group. I couldn't believe OpenTable had the availability for my large group. It was too good to be true. I locked down the reservation immediately. Then, I reached out to Linden's via email and Instagram to confirm my booking. They were super responsive. Within the hour, Alison responded back to me through email and Instagram confirming they would be able to accommodate my group. I was ecstatic. On the day of the brunch, more than half of us were running 30 minutes to an hour late. I called Linden's to let them know, and they were so cool about it. Finally, when everybody arrived, we ordered our foods with our server, who was incredibly nice and accommodating. Despite the small brunch menu, the food was delicious. My polenta & mushroom dish was so good, I would totally get it again. Everybody else either had the 3-egg omelet or one of the breakfast sandwiches. I did not try the breakfast sandwiches but had some omelet. GET THE POLENTA & MUSHROOM. Sunny side up egg on top of a creamy polenta, with roasted mushrooms that were just exquisite. The whole dish was perfection. Our table also had 3 orders of the mixed berry salad. It seemed like it was a popular item, and I totally get why. The berries were fresh. The blackberries were plump and juicy, and every single one was surprisingly unbruised. I did not see a drinks menu, but Linden's has a full bar, so feel free to order any drink you want. My husband had an espresso martini, which he enjoyed. With the enclosed courtyard, the 2 restless small children were able to walk around, never leaving our sight, while the grown-ups chatted. Our group had a lovely brunch that lasted over 2 hours. We took our time, and no one rushed us. Linden's, you were absolutely wonderful to us. I would be back in a heartbeat. read more

I'm not a big fan of restaurants in hotels because they seem to exist at the convenience of hotel guests and less so for their expertise. We decided to take a chance as it was fairly seamless to walk in and get a table, let alone an indoor shaded seat in a quiet environment for conversations. We ordered: Green Salad Heirloom Carrot Ravioli Dragon Fruit Tonic Cantaloupe & Sage Spritz The server and service was exceptionally chipper and prompt with them thoughtfully asking if we'd like our dishes to arrive at the same time or after the other. Even when the initial server had to end their shift, they handed us off to the proper server for any questions or requests, which maybe to some could feel trivial, but personally felt like a breath of fresh air. I appreciated that the pancetta garnish on the ravioli could be removed and the salad was quite unique even though the listed ingredients sounded very basic. The most memorable aspect of our time were their zero proof cocktail options and the happy medium between sweetness and tart flavors. Lindens proved to be a well made decision amidst the outside looking very lowkey, but the rooftop bar and memorabilia esque board across the elevators felt like memorable intent for one to come back for! read more

Rarely does an establishment make drinks as well as this food, but here they nail it. Both drinks were exceptional, mouthwatering, and amazingly well balanced. I had the Lavender Daisy and the Butternut Squash Sangaree and they were shockingly refreshing. The service was energetic and attentive. The food was as delicious as it sounded on the menu & looked in photos. The steak was thicker than pictures and was perfectly cooked. Mine was medium temperature and it was truly worth ordering. My Yelpie friend reminded me about checking in and we were able to get the Parker Thyme rolls free with check in - the butter had a light lemon zest and the warm rolls were perfect with it. I was straying at the Arlo and ended up having both breakfast and lunch here. Lunch was excellent. I had a glass of Sangiovese and the gnocchi. The gnocchi was beautiful and came with giant pillows that melted in your mouth. I savored every bite! I topped the meal off with the peach crème brûlée which was also delicious. Breakfast the following day left a lot to be desired. I ordered a latte, pancakes and a side of bacon. The pancakes were very dense and thicker than the width of a knife. It did not taste very good and I wasn't able to finish it. I don't think the pancakes were a good representation of the quality at Lindens. I enjoyed my experience and lunch was quite memorable. My top choice in SoHo! Lindens was very mouthwatering that I crave to go back again! We came for a quick lunch before heading to the airport. Very relaxing vibe and got sat quickly. A mix of business and tourist seated in the restaurant. I scanned the menu and kept it simple. We shared the cut thin fries that was addicting from fresh garlic and Parmesan intertwined. Came here for brunch and sat in the nice outdoor space. There are individual table umbrellas for shade but the area is uncovered. For drinks, I ordered the chrysanthemum spritz ($18) which was light and refreshing. For food, we ordered the thyme Parker house rolls to share, polenta and mushrooms for my entree and a side of bacon. The Parker house rolls were to die for - perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside with an herbed butter. The polenta and mushrooms was also a large size - I was pleasantly surprised with how flavorful the mushrooms and jus' was. I was a bit disappointed in the bacon though because it wasn't very crispy but that's personal preference. There was some awkwardness when getting seated outside with a bus boy since we wanted to switch to a table with shade but our waitress was very accommodating and attentive with our water refills. A gem in lower Manhattan/SoHo. Our server, José, was amazing and kept surprising us with things like anniversary champagne and a beautiful cherry dessert! We had the burger, half chicken, Giardiniera, and a "side" of shoestring fries. All very delicious! The portion of fries we got was monstrous. José and the kitchen were super attentive kept our drinks full and table clean, and executed nearly flawlessly.
