I've already dealt with two of them. I guess being a senior now has me sensitive to rude people. Willfully, and deliberately, with malice, refused to give me a COVID-19 test. I have an important surgery scheduled, they were well aware of all of this, yet, they refused to give me the necessary test, TWICE! The behavior was unbelievably childish, how immature, it's like a daycare, you should think about your actions... You DEPRIVED ANOTHER HUMAN BEING OF THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS! ***UNBELIEVABLE*** This test was not just necessary for myself, but, it was necessary FOR ALL HUMAN BEINGS IN WHICH I MAY COME IN CONTACT. I USED TO LOVE COMING TO CVS pharmacy on North town Reno Nv to get my meds.. but it's be a on going thing since they brought in the new people.. Every time I go in there they all have an attitude and make you feel very uneasy.. especially the PHARMACIST..this man always got a attitude never smile don't speak and act like you bothering him.. when he at the drive thru it even WORST!!!he talk like he don't want to be bothered.. so today I went in ..he seen unbothered he don't smile or ask you how you doing or NOTHING and act like people is scum .. not pleasant at all i ask him something.. it's like hurry up ask and leave.. he would not tell me anything about my medication ..he said he didn't know he said contact your provider I can't tell you what you supposed to do!! I refuse to go to stores that lock there product away behind walls and locks. I will drive 10/15 minutes out of the way to pick my own product off the shelf. As a life long customer, it saddens me to say that the 3 dollar Vic lighter your employee unlocked for me is the last thing I will buy from this store. If you value your life and need medication, don't go to CVS Northtowne. Two years ago, I switched insurers although I have the same medication for the last six years. What the pharmacy manager is doing was randomly assigning claims to both former and current insurers for the same medicaRINO. My current insurer is now sending monthly letters to me saying they believe I have a second insurance and that medication should be billed to the other insurer or they'll cancel my plan as "fraud" eventhough that other insurer was canceled two years ago. Only CVS Northtowne has a record of my former insurance and medications and could cause this confusion. This CVS has been the source of this dual insurance billing issue and it seems possible that fraud is being committed by the pharmacy of double billing insurance for the same drugs that aren't received by clients. read more

I was asking about an update on my prescription transfer, and he interrupted me/talked over me while I was trying to explain. This location use to be. Awesome for the last year every month their is an argument on when my meds are ready to be filled.. I shouldn't have to break down my pill schedule when it's written on the script... every month I say the same thing and every month I get argued with until they figure out that I'm correct and someone doesn't know how to read the computer then I'm promised meds by a certain time and it's always two to three hours after.. even when I explain I have a plane to catch it's oh I'm sorry..... I had to sit on hold for 1hour and 30minutes to tell them that I had a prescription that was sent electronically that should have been filled yesterday and for them to fill it. I shouldn't have to call them to tell them to do their job, and no one should have to be on hold for that long. After sitting on hold that long I was angry. I was told that I have to call to let them know they need to fill it. I asked her why she couldn't just look at the electronically sent RX and she said " we are too busy to do that and that I need to call every month". I'm sure she could hear how upset I was but she was terse with me in return. Then she said the phrase no one should ever say to someone who is upset..."Calm down". I've come in 4 separate times and literally every single time I've come in they couldn't find my prescription. OMG, how things have changed since the previous manager retired. I went there two days ago to return some facial cream for my wife. It was getting very hard and the expiration date was 2020. I was asked for my receipt by some new kid and when I said I didn't have one (really, who keeps a facial cream receipt?) he told me I could not return it. There was another new female there who backed him up. I do not need this kind of treatment and will now go to Walgreens for my needs. On the other side, the people in the pharmacy are very helpful and friendly. Sure will miss them (I spend aprox. $200 a week on RX for my wife and mother-in-law). read more

The worst pharmacy in the Reno/Sparks area. The pharmacy it self is dirty. The ppl who stand in line complain about how they called 7 days prior for scrips and to find out they are not ready. The pharmacist enjoys hanging up on the patients and on the insurance company. They really need to close this place down. They are pathetic (The Pharmacist). Not all the employees. I was released from physical therapy nursing home and my Rx where sent to this location which was a mistake and cause me a string of problems between my doctors and the CVS Pharmacy who were EXTREMELY rude accusative to my doctors and me . I've been using them for 2 years and the staff is always super personable and they clearly do their best even when swamped with customers. I have seen people literally yell at the pharmacists for things that are clearly outside of their control, ie insurance issues. Don't shoot the messenger guys, these people do not have anything to gain from screwing you over. Your insurance on the other hand... that's a different story. The best experience i've had in Reno for a pharmacy. So much so i've had all of my prescriptions transferred from the Raley's on Robb. Why is there pharmacy a BIG deal? 1 - Drive thru hours: M-F 08:00 AM - 09:00 PM Sat 09:00 AM - 06:00 PM Sun 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM 2 - Most prescriptions are done in under two hours and they call you to let you know. (Not like other pharmacies that can take up to two days on refills.) 3 - Drew in the pharmacy. His attention to detail, follow up to get all of my meds transferred from Raley's, calling me to inform me on when the meds were ready, and the best customer service. I'll continue coming back as long as he is here. read more

I was able to find what I needed then debate over how much I wanted to pay for the items. I'm not usually a make up wearer so I was really only buying these things for a special event. CVS pharmacy has helped me out with my prescriptions SO MANY times. when walgreens took two weeks just to tell me they wouldn't fill a FACE CREAM, I called CVS and they fixed it in 30 minutes. and when I accidentally ran out of a medication and my normal pharmacy was closed, they filled it for me! On Friday, April 7, 2023, my husband picked up several medications for both of us through the drive up at CVS Pharmacy at Northtowne. We always get our medications from the same pharmacy so it is easier to keep track of possible drug interactions and changes as medications are added to our profile. As it turns out, this pharmacy refilled this medication using my old dose and not the newer (current) dose. I discovered the problem just now and called them. They said they couldn't take the meds back even though they remain sealed in their original packages. I understand that, but they refuse to return the $50.66 that we paid for their mistake in filling the wrong dose. I cannot use this medication and I have to pay for it too? This pharmacy did actually fill this medication earlier with the correct dose, so it is not like they weren't aware of the dose change. This frustrates me. We don't scrutinize each and every medication when we pick up several at a time because there is always a long line of cars waiting in the drive up. If we were one of the many people on a low or fixed income, $50 could be the difference between eating or not. This is very poor customer care and, even though we have been using this pharmacy for many years, we will be changing pharmacies. read more

My son works in this pharmacy so I wont comment on his awesomeness...lol. However, this review is on the photo department. It is so quick and easy to get your prints. You can use the app and send them before you get there for 19¢ or send it using your bluetooth when you get there for 32¢. It took maybe 2 min to print out 40 prints. I have to say that the bad service and general mayhem one can expect from the Sun Valley CVS, I was reluctant to transfer my prescriptions to the CVS pharmacy on Northtowne Lane, which is only a half mile from my home. I am happy to report that THIS PHARMACY IS ACES in my book. The store manager is super friendly and helpful, as are the clerks. The PHARMACY STAFF is wonderful. Although it is a busy pharmacy, I feel like I always get personal service, and that I can call them at any time with questions. I have never had a problem with "pharmacy mess-ups," and the staff have personally helped me with insurance issues a couple of times which required them to be tenacious with the insurance. Also, they have a drive through, which is convenient. I never though I'd be recommending a pharmacy on Yelp, but truthfully, I wholeheartedly recommend the NORTHTOWNE CVS Pharmacy. read more

One of the best CVS pharmacies (or any large pharmacies) in Reno. The volume is fairly high and the staff is excellent. Due to high volume, they offer pneumonia and flu vaccinations whereas many other CVS stores only offer flu vaccinations (seasonally, of course). The store itself is on the smaller side for a CVS so don't expect the same selection you might at any other CVS. The store features a drive through and later hours than many other CVS stores, closing at 10 p.m. on most days. It's also close to the 24 hour McCarran CVS so they can send you there if you're near the cusp of getting something filled or if they don't happen to have it. The staff is friendly and professional and you can expect fairly speedy checkouts in the front store which just isn't as busy as many other CVS stores. read more

Made an appointment for a test to be done, arrived 5 mins early and did not enter the store, I called and waited on hold for 10 minutes just to get a person named skyler in the pharmacy and she was rude and just awful, I was calling about basic info like where to go what to do, who to ask for and she kept Interrupting me telling me they aren't doing test and I'll have to go somewhere else and that she can't help me and finally I was able to pry the information for a test in the drive thru, BUT The lady in the drive through was the nicest ever. This is a newish CVS pharmacy over in the Northtowne Lane area (near Fatburger and U-Swirl). Its a nice enough store, clean and well maintained, and the folks seem friendly enough. But the prices? Wow. I'm not a big comparison shopper, but several items were significantly more than the same product costs over at Walgreens. Not sure why, it really makes no sense, although they seemed to be busy so I guess its working for them (is there even any competition over in this area? doesn't seem like it).
