Every time I've been to one of these, I get a really nice greeting, the guy today was from India, very polite to everyone that walked in. I talk to him for a second, since I've been to India, he was extremely nice. I think his name was Bahn or something similar. If I am not mistaken, you can also use your Smith's card here for discounts on gas. So if you don't have a Smith's card, get one as it is definitely my favorite place to shop for all of the low price groceries.

I have only been almost squished about 3 times in the last 10 years. Not bad for Reno. CONVENIENCE: They are no longer open 24 Hours. The Pharmacy window is only open 9:00am to 8pm with a half hour closure for lunch. The rest of the store still cares a huge collection of stuff. Items that apparently are "shoplifting magnets" ie most beauty products are now in locked shelves. ATMOSPHERE There seem to be fewer "dodgy" patrons than in the past. Shelves are better displayed and don't seem as cramed. It is clean and well lit. SERVICE: Still pretty slow, and staff has been drastically reduced. I have had no problems with either the pharmacy or the front checkout, it just takes a while. On the plus side, staff are friendly and professional. My insurance no longer covers prescriptions from Walgreens. I just learned that Walgreens is not affiliated with the large third-party Pharmacy Benefit Manager. So the convenience and location have been major factors in me continuing to shop here.

The big advantage, is the location, literally right across Virginia Street from the Silver Legacy. If you are staying at Circus Circus, the El Dorado, or the legacy, and you need something, they are right there. Why pay hotel mini-bar prices? I was staying at Circus, and I woke up at 3 AM, with an unpleasant stomachache. I thought I was going to have to either go out to the parking garage, get in the car and go find something or walk the 10 minutes to the 24 hour Walgreens, then I found this place. It's literally just a few steps from the front door of Circus Circus. I went over, and I was able to get some Pepto-Bismol, and ginger ale, I felt a lot better afterwards, and I was able to get back to sleep. I'm not sure what I would've done otherwise. They really helped me out.. Yes, the prices are higher, but I didn't mind, because I got what I needed. A great little store that's there when you need it. Thanks!

We stopped here Sunday in order to fill up on more wallet draining gas before leaving for California, where gas costs even more on average. The price was a staunch $5.99 (cash) per each gallon here, as seen in the one terrible picture I took through a dirty windshield. As Dave began the arduous task of wiping the windows I went in to buy some gas at the cash price and provisions for the long, grueling journey over the Sierra Nevadas. You don't need me to tell you what might happen if you don't pack enough fountain soda and original flavor bugles just in case... Half of the soda flavors were not working at the machine, and another of the supposedly working ones I chose came out all watery. Thankfully I was able to find a working flavor and was happy to find they had the ice of smol crushed variety. After selecting my snack I went to the register to pay and found the employee friendly enough. This location seemed decently clean, though I did not use the bathroom. Once outside, I noticed Dave had not located any paper towels to wipe the squeegee with so the window cleaning attempt was a bust. There was a windstorm kicking up anyway as we rolled out of there, so methinks either way it would have been a Sisyphean task. I would probably stop here again if I had to, and it is conveniently located next to where we like to stay when we're in the area. Hopefully they fix the soda machine and restock the cleaning stuffs outside.

But they put in a machine to make the coffee on demand, you can hear a grinding the coffee beans, you would figure that this was a great idea, however the coffee is extremely strong and bitter no matter what type you put. I want to make sure, even though there's quite a few vagrant people hanging around outside, none of them spoke to me or approached me or anything. So I definitely felt safe here. I also saw a really nice hot snack bar, that had chickens and a number of other types of food. Though a little on the expensive side, one dollar for one piece of chicken wing, it is definitely convenient and looks fresh enough. I will definitely be back as after trying the coffee.
