I just returned it today to be told they can't swap or refund because the box was opened????? WTF??? How are we supposed to know it's broken until we open it. Would not recommend buying anything from here. A very rude and uncooperative manager. Maybe they should sell X ray glasses so we can see into the box before opening it. Unbelievable ‍ Update . The owner of the store was great and helpful and immediately exchanged the item without a problem. A shame we had to go through so many hoops. but thankfully it got resolved. No apology from the manager just a surly attitude. The store is good and has some great products ( when they aren't broken). The owner may want a word with the manager on how to interact with customers in future.

Even my constant polite phrases along the lines of "thank you so much" was met with coldness and indifference. I get it, customer service isn't where you wanna be in life, but if you do such a simple job in such a poor fashion, who would be dumb enough to entrust you with something more complex or involved? Anyways, mid service, but for the most part, the store is well stocked, and the people at the pharmacy have slightly better social skills, so not that bad.

This is one of my favorite buildings in South Pasadena. Originally opened in 1915 as a pharmacy,…read morethe current ownership took it over in the 1940s and turned it into a soda fountain + pharmacy and made it world famous when it became one of the attractions on Route 66. Tons of people have visited it over the generations, and it's one of the landmark history spots of Los Angeles, and is a must-see stop if you are a Route 66 history fan. Parking in the area can be a bit difficult; however, it's not hard to find metered street parking in front or the paid parking lot across the street. Inside is really cool and preserved as if it is in the 1950s. In the back, they have a fully functional and working pharmacy, and in the front is a merchandise area, a little bodega, and a full service soda bar and milkshake station. The attendant behind the counter was extremely polite, and I tried a Cherry Soda, which I thought was great, and I wanted to get a banana milkshake; however, they were out, so I chose Funfetti Milkshake and enjoyed it very much. It was a great sweet treat on a warm day, and I would highly suggest to anyone to stop in for the history alone. It's also well known in many movies and TV shows, so if you are a filming location fan, it's also a must visit. I would highly recommend and will be back again in the future.

They make it really hard for someone to buy anything from here!…read moreThe first time I came it was a Saturday, the day most people are free from work and go shopping but alas they're closed on weekends so I thought I would probably not be able to visit since I work full time. Today I just happened to be driving by for work and I decided to stop in and buy something. Before I stopped I checked to make sure they were open and it said they open at 9 am (it was 10:51) so I went it and instantly someone asked me if I was getting a prescription, I said no and they immediately told me "in that case we're closed, come back at 11:30" I said but you open at..... and they interrupted with "we open at 11:30 come back then". If an establishment makes you jump through hoops just so you can buy from them, then it's not worth going. It's sad to think I may never be able to shop here again just because they make it so hard. What a shame that I might have to buy what I wanted online, and that's how brick and mortar shops die.

I visited the pharmacy and asked for Stephen, but I accidentally pronounced the name slightly differently (like "Stephan," as in Stephen Curry). Instead of correcting me politely, several staff members laughed, and one of them repeatedly mocked the mispronunciation by saying, "Stephan! Stephan!" I asked to speak with the manager -- who is Stephen -- and explained that this behavior was disrespectful, rude, and completely inappropriate for a professional setting. But the managers didn't seem to be apologetic either. No customer should ever be treated this way. Avoid this pharmacy unless you want to deal with staff who lack basic courtesy and professionalism.

My experience today with the pharmacy technician, Gaby, was completely unacceptable and upsetting…read more I was under the impression I could pick up both of my prescriptions, but instead of handling the situation professionally, Gaby exhibited a deeply disrespectful demeanor. She forced me to repeat myself multiple times and essentially made me yell out the specific medication I needed in a public space, which felt like a massive violation of my privacy. Even after I went and sat down to speak directly with the original pharmacist to sort out the issue, Gaby continued trying to shout things or talk over to me across the room. The pharmacist's excellent customer service AFTER HER was completely overshadowed by Gaby's unprofessionalism and total lack of discretion. I hope management addresses her behavior. Thank you again to the lady after, and I apologize for my part in the matter.

In the olden days, before massive corporations pushed small mom-and-pop stores out of business,…read morealmost every neighborhood had its own independent neighborhood pharmacy. Many of these functioned as mini-department stores, having a wide selection of goods to meet the needs of the community: cookware, clothing, and gifts, just to name a few categories. Webster's Pharmacy seems to be one of these almost extinct businesses that has miraculously survived in Altadena since 1926. I was on my way to Bulgarinia Gelato when I noticed the cool retro signage of Webster's and decided to pop in to check it out. There's a large, free parking lot in the back, as well as street parking in the front. I was pleasantly suprised to find not only a fully stocked pharmacy but an absolutely adorable gift shop featuring BOOKS and other gifts. This includes a section devoted to ANTHONY BOURDAIN (a hero to many Yelpers, despite his utter disdain for Elite Yelpers, may he RIP). There are holiday candies, slippers, Christmas tree ornaments and pretty much something for everyone (there was even a section for folks that like to use "colorful metaphors", as Spock would say.) I'm not sure if the gifts are stocked year round but if you need something last minute for the holidays, Webster's can certainly help. Most items are full price but occasional discounts apply. Long live Webster's!
