i normally don't write negative reviews but this is abt the phone convo i had with a staff member at the Pharmacy itself. I called for refill, and since i work down the street I thought it would be convenient to fill my DOG's rx there..boy, was I wrong! The person on the phone insisted that i get the actual DOB of my dog since I've never filled rxs at the Martinez CVS before even though I have filled prescriptions at another CVS pharmacy. She said there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING SHE COULD DO. I needed to do the leg work and call the other cvs pharmacy that we fill his SEIZURE meds at and find out what they have in their system. She didn't offer to call the other pharmacy, nothing..And i guess that is why she works there, i hope her customer service/pt/telephone skills improve. Absolute worst customer service experience on the phone, hate to see how she is in person. read more

Worst experience with a pharmacy I've ever had! I will never enter this store again and will be calling their corporate office today to make a formal complaint. I feel as if I was treated completely unfair for no reason. I have all my rx's filled at TargetCVS in PH and have for years. I love my pharmacist and team there. My doc wanted me to fill an rx as name brand and they didn't have any on hand and suggested I go to this cvs. When I arrived and told them TargetCVS sent me, the pharm tech actually yelled at me! "She can't do that! We could be holding that med for someone else! It will take me hours to fill this and I have a lot of paperwork to process and calls to make to process this so you'll have to wait!" She was so rude and so unprofessional. I gave her my diagnosis codes from my doctor so I'm not sure what else she would need but ok. She demanded my phone number and said she call me IF she could fill it but again, it would be hours. I never protested and was calm and courteous the entire time. I said ok and I'd talk to her later. Well, she never called. That was at 1pm. At 5:45 I got a text that my rx was ready. I drive up there, pay and get in my car and it's generic!! Go back in and pharmacist rudely tells me oh, the name brand is $600. I ask if they take the discount cards and she says, "we don't do that here". WHAT?! There's a stack of discount cards on the counter!" Ok, I don't want that, I'll take the generic back. She then says she can't give it to me because my Rx says non-generic only. What? She already sold it to me once! She says well not that I realize I shouldn't have filled it, you can't have it. So I took my Rx back to Target and they're now filling it. NEVER AGAIN. RUDEST PEOPLE IVE EVER EXPERIENCED. read more

Worst customer service ever! My daughter had a 104.5 temp. Trying to buy her medicine and my chip wouldn't work. And I had my drivers license and the attendant said if the chip doesn't work you can't swipe it. So they had the manger come over and she literally said nope. And walked away. Even the attendant said that was way out of line to talk to a customer that way. I would have caused a scene if I didn't have a sick child. She literally just turned me away and could care less about the situation. Get a new job bitch! read more

Review a pharmacy? How boring! But I have to say this CVS has it's sh*t together. The pharmacy department is on top of their orders and I receive a text when my prescriptions are ready for pick up....usually within an hour. And as an added bonus for those of you thrifty people out there, use the "Extra Care" card (even when buying prescriptions) because they always give $3.00 or $6.00 "extra care bucks" on your receipts to be used towards your next purchases. This last trip I saved almost $12. read more

One star for the technicians that hand over the Rx. The pharmacist was worthless. When asked what the benefits of an oral medication is over a topical medication, he named the perscriptions. When I backed up and explained my situation, then asked again, why would I take oral over topical. He said, "I don't want to go over and over with you." Well he wouldn't have to if he would answer the question instead of naming what the two options of medication are..( I KNOW what the two are).and NOT what my Question was--- why would I take oral over topical???? I hate CVS stores in general but they really ruined this one from the Longs it used to be!! This Longs was previously run by British ExPats and had an awesome selection of British foods and beers!! Some of this tradition hung on after CVS took over the store, so I hoped to find something unique when I stopped by today. All gone, just another lame cookie cutter CVS now!! This CVS has changed their pharmacy hours! They used to open at 8 am on weekdays and now open at 9 am! Makes a big difference for those of us that work long hours I have to get my Rx in the mornings sometimes before work. read more

I have been shopping at this location for over 8 years now from when it was Longs to its current CVS status. The customer service is excellent. The clerk named Denise is such a treasure! She is so nice and helpful, she actually inspires me to be a better employee at my job! All the people here are so nice and now they offer coupons designed just for me! I went in tonight to use the picture kiosk to print out pictures and it wasn't working for me., an employee named Izzy saw that I was having trouble and came over and offered to help me. I was quite impressed as most people who work at CVS do their best to completely ignore you and be of no help at all. He went above and beyond to help me. Between Izzy and our cashier Denise, it was actually a very pleasant experience. These two actually know something about customer service. read more

I come here quite a bit considering I work not too far. The cashiers are really friendly, and the store is always clean. They have good deals, and I really like their rewards program. The fact that you can scan your card and have your coupons printed out for you in store is genius! read more

This is my local drugstore and I've never had bad service here. The employees are usually businesslike and efficient, and sometimes amazingly over the top friendly. Either I'm lucky, or others aren't, but I'll take what I can get these days. The greeting cards, beer/alcohol, and eyeliner are what I mostly buy here, and all those things are plentiful and well priced. While the selection here is pretty nice, and the location and parking both work well, I have to say the employees make the experience of shopping here not so enjoyable. While it's not that they're all rude, I can think of a few polite, lovely folks off the top of my head, but there are some who are just plain unhelpful. Today I had one of them point me off in a direction when I asked for something (not even listing an aisle), and then when I went to pay for my things he was back again, though this time chatting it up with the register. I don't mind that he wanks to talk to coworkers, seeing as we all do, but he just kept going and the cashier wouldn't so much as acknowledge me. On the bright side, when he did ring me up, he scanned the little CVS card to save me money. Overall, a decent store with not so decent workers. read more

This CVS has treated me like a criminal every time I've come in to get my 85 year old grandpa's heart medication. They've nothing but stonewalled me when I have power of attorney to handle his medication and be involved with his medical issues. I went in today they wouldn't tell me why they were calling us. I had to come back and give them shit to get anything done. The last time I tried to pick up his heart medication is when his back was out earlier in the year. They wouldn't let me take him the medication that is keeping him alive. I had to go get him, in pain, and have him get his own medication. My mom has been doing this for 15 years and they've never given her any trouble. Since I'm an assumed criminal to these people at CVS, I'm taking mine and my grandpa's business elsewhere. I should have dumped them when they made him come down with a back injury because I'm going to put blood pressure meds up my nose. Neither of us signed up for Kaiser and I have a choice, I'm not going to be treated bad for trying to do right by my grandpa. read more

CVS on Alhambra Avenue in Martinez is almost like an old-fashioned drug store in terms of friendly, efficient customer service. The pharmacy staff and Bernie, the pharmacist who manages the department and the other pharmacists, are simply wounderful, extremely helpful and always concerned about making certain their customers medication needs are met as quickly as possible. If you have a new medication, they explain in detail what the new drug is for and any possible side effects. It's a pleasure to do business with all of them. read more

The staff here is very friendly, however it appears that they are over worked which may be why they come off grumpy. I've noticed that they have quite a few store managers come and go and that probably diminishes morale. I went in there last night to find only two employees working in the entire store. That is not fair to them nor is it fair to the customers. They were doing their best to help everyone, but just couldnt keep up with everything. There appeared to be a theft in action as one of the managers questioned a lady who had in fact been trying to steal alcohol from the sounds of it, and the other employee rang as fast as he could to keep the line down. Not enough people and too much work would stress anyone out. Look at the management before we go complaining about rude cashiers. I've been shopping there for years and have watched long time employees go from loving their jobs to feeling trapped. They need a consistent manager who will stay longer than two months to get that store and morale back up to par. Happy employees make happy customers. read more

Incompetent. I called in the morning to give the pharmacy my new insurance information after receiving multiple text from cvs asking me to call With my info. I was told that they cant take the insurance information over the phone ... I expressed that I had been receiving text but guess that didn't matter to the stupid girl on the phone. I show up at the pharmacy at 1:30 to pick up my medication only to be told that I have to come back in an hour when the pharmacist comes back from lunch and then they can process my insurance. Who wants to have to come back??? That's why I made the call in the first place. And I didn't really appreciate the attitude of "no big deal". People have lives and things to do. If it was convenient to pick it up at 2:30 then that's when I would have been there. But it wasn't. Get your employees trained properly! I come to this store a lot and I spend a decent amount of money here. After I pick this up today , I'm done! I have NEVER in my life been so humiliated and appalled by staff, management at that, than I was this evening at the martinez CVS. I was only a 4x customer, twice to this location, and twice to the 24hr Bancroft location. I came in to do a legitimate return, with a reciept. No opened items, nothing unordinary about the items, my reciept, or how I look for that matter. The mgmt, sheri who claims to be shift sup for the eve, as well as the store mgr sheri who apparently refused to speak with me when I asked for an explanantion. The return policy is clearly stated at each register. She proceeded to raise her voice at me, and talk down to me as if I was a problem for her. She said she didn't have enough money in her drawer; but then she gets some out of a safe below the register.......she then says its too late, and she is not going to help me no matter what, "because she doesn't have to", and that I "needed to leave the store, and go back to walnut creek." I could not believe the way I was treated......the worst part is that I work in nursing for contra costa county, in this same city, and had patients shopping at the same time. She belittled me as if I were a criminal trying to do something wrong. I also work directly with CVS pharmacy ALL DAY LONG!!!! I will NEVER give CVS another dollar of mine.....and I will do evrything in my power to discourage the 1000's of patients I deal with from going to the pharmacy. The kicker in all of this? My family member was in upper mgmt for CVS for several years, and has every contact I will need to pursue this innappropriate behavior. So sorry Sheri. Hope you don't lose your job right before Christmas......this incident is on camera, and is worthy of a 7 on your side feature......to Michael Finney I go........wow is all I can say.......To sheri: as I'm sure word of this will get to you, ill make sure of it) what is it that would ever cause you to treat me the way you did???? You should be very embarrassed for your actions, especially with several customers in line. Your parents, and anyone who knows you would be so ashamed at your uncalled-for behavior. I cannot fathom speaking to someone the way you spoke to me. I am surprised I was able to maintain my composure while you did your best to break me down as if I was in boot camp. I really hope you take 2 steps back to reflect on the things you said, and the way you embarrassed yourself. As little as you made me feel, I'm sure I was standing taller than yourself......I hope somewhere you value your current career at CVS; it is now my mission to have you experience the same grief you caused me and my family this evening by having you relocated and or fired/appropriately disciplined. I wonder how many other customers you have done this to that have just walked away?......how sad.........karma is a knockin at folks like yourself........the biggest difference between you and I is that I can go home, and sleep at night, knowing I HELPED people in my work day.....I cannot say the same for yourself.....and might I add, generally speaking, people who I come across in MY workplace who behave the way you did often get referred to psych emergency; too bad the physical location was not my workplace as that recommendation would have been made.
