Generally, Walgreens is my preferred drugstore. But since I have moved, the one closest to (on Alhambra Ave). has a really hard time getting things right. I usually place my order via the app. I have had them show up without items, and then tell me I can come pick it up at the store if I want it. When I order things to be picked up, its not ready. And tonight, my delivery was supposed to come at 7:30. At 9:00, I hadn't even gotten a text so I went to the on line chat and was told the store was still processing my order and I could call them to check on it. So I called. Too bad the store was already closed. Good thing my order just included house hold items and not medicine. Although, last week my son was waiting and waiting for days to get an update on his prescription. When he finally called, they said they couldn't process it without more information...why didn't they notify him of that they needed more information?! Clearly the managers don't take pride in the store or they would require the employees to do more than a half-assed job. I upgraded my rating to two stars because I called about my order this morning, and spoke to a lovely, polite lady about my order. She was very concerned that there was a problem and apologetic. At first she couldn't find any reference to the order so I said I would place it again. But a few minutes later, she called back and said she found the order and would fill it right away. She was very friendly and that made a huge difference. The few clerks that I have interacted with have generally been indifferent and non-caring. Customer interaction matters! read more

I've had two separate, equally frustrating experiences at this pharmacy. Both times, I was told my baby's medication would be ready in 20 minutes. After waiting an hour and a half, I was told it hadn't even been started. It is incredibly upsetting to be given a specific timeframe only for it to be completely ignored. If I could give LESS than one star, I would do it. The Walgreens Pharmacy on Gregory Lane in Pleasant Hill ought to be closed down due to criminal misinformation. They refused my wife the medication that was given to her by her pain DOCTOR, and indicated that they had the right to override the prescription! The turnover of personnel is obvious, as well as the "Pharmacists" themselves. One named "Neven" was the worst, followed by "Airiel". They even misread the calendar and would not back down, refusing to dispense. They are grossly understaffed. Many of the staff seem rude, uncaring, sloppy in appearance, and exude an "I don't give a shit" attitude. They always lie about when the meds will be ready for pickup, when busy, they will take their phones off the hook for HOURS on end, are disrespectful, and are consistently out of the medications prescribed. After 10 years we will NEVER go back there, and will transfer our ongoing prescriptions directly to the John Muir Hospital pharmacy. Other than that, if you love what I have described, and enjoy waiting in long lines, this is the place to go~ read more

Do not deal with Robert in the pharmacy. He is ruthless and arrogant. He called my dad an old man that doesn't know what he's doing. Excuse me but that is unacceptable! I will not tolerate that. Wow, I just had the worst experience with a clerk in the pharmacy at the Martinez Walgreens. You would think with all the Walgreens closing they would try to keep as many customers as they could, but this guy was the worst. He has no business working with the public. let alone with patient in a Pharmacy. Urgently needed to has the restroom as I'm waiting for my medication to be ready by the pharmacist. Staff Avery sees me showing urgent signs of needing to use the restroom. However when asked immediately states restrooms are out of order. As I asked another staff member , he gave me access and bathroom clearly worked. The pharmacy service is absolutely horrid. They pressure you constantly to switch your Rx's to 90 day supply then you have to deal with delays if the Doctor didn't originally write it as a 90 day supply. Then when you try to call to sort it out you often end up on hold for 30+ minutes before you finally get sick of waiting and hang up. Very poor business model and I won't be getting Rx's filled there anymore. read more

Overall nice pharmacist! Went in for a Covid test and she was very nice and patient with me as she helped me scheduled an appointment with my mom. It's pretty confusing on the Walgreens website to schedule an appointment but after about 5 minutes sitting in the car I finally made one! It's set up like the Walgreens I usually go to by San Pablo. Big selection of frozen stuff like pizza ice cream ( many different kinds ) , and cold drinks near the pharmacy. One of the male workers said hi to both me and my mom thought he was nice until he scurried over to a female worker and watched me by the pharmacy. Only did I notice once I looked at them and they hurried to look away. Not sure what that was about they never proceeded to tell me anything , all I needed was a test nothing more , so will not be coming back once you make me feel weird once. I just ignored them and proceeded to leave because I can most definitely pay for everything I come into contact with , and if I cannot i will simply not get the item. Cash register lady never said anything just dogged us that was our first interaction with any worker. Everything I needed to know within one visit that's for sure. Wouldn't recommend this store . If you have some place to urgently be, don't get in the "one-lane only", pharmacy drive thru; you'll be waiting forever. Pack a lunch. Also, Walgreens sending you an email that your Rx is ready for pick up, means absolutely nothing!!! I received an email stating the day and time to pick up my order. I go to the pharmacy drive-thru on Saturday, wait for nearly 30 minutes, only to get to the window and be told my Rx will be available on Monday after 5pm. *Sigh* I return on Monday after 5p, wait in the drive thru for close to 45 mins; again, only to be told THIS TIME to come back in "30mins to an hour". *Screams* Why send an email telling me to come pick it up if the pharmacy staff knows it's not ready to be picked up?!? Where are the wires getting crossed between the pharmacy staff and the system-generated emails? Close down this Walgreens and put a CVS or a pharmacy with an organized system of records & staff in its place. read more

I love this Walgreens location and the long-term staff that sadly seem to be replaced with newbies. Most of the transitional staff are friendly and knowledgeable. But today 1/17/24, I was totally dismissed by Michael (who has the great big beard) when I asked if they had gift wrapping tissue. He said, "Probably not, Christmas is pretty much over." WHAT? Walgreens has a year-round area dedicated to gift wrap and gift bags and typically tissue paper. Although this day, I saw none, so I therefore asked. Furthermore, when I suggested it's usually found in the gift wrap area, Michael responded by waving his arm in the general direction across the store somewhere and said, "It's over there, but I doubt it." Not only did this man not know his. inventory, he made it clear he did not have the time of day to assist me. Management needs to train and evaluate it's employees even if they're transferred from another location. Our Martinez store deserves that! read more

My medicare assistance plan prefers Walgreens so I tried using it and stopped due to rude behavior from associates. Just had surgery and can't put weight on foot for two months so I switched back temporarily because they DO have a drive through. Needed Norco for pain and an antibiotic. After having a friend drive me there found out two things. 1They said the antibiotic couldn't be filled until Nov 18 though, to my knowledge I've NEVER taken it before. Second, they claimed to be out of Norco . . . WHAT!!!!! Never heard of anything like that. Got a ride home made some calls. CVS will fill both. No shortage of Norco Insurance will cover the antibiotic no problem. WALGREENS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN UNLESS MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT. read more

The pharmacy at this Walgreens is the worst I have ever been to, they either grossly understaffed or just don't understand the concept of efficiency. Highly suggest not having medications sent here. If you are forced to please allow 2 hours of wait time. They have one person that shifts between drive thru and customers inside and the pharmacists who are busy have to review and sign off on everything. It is shocking how a line with 5 people can take 30 mins per person. DMV is worse but not by much. read more

This Walgreens has a drive-thru window. Today I had to wait 10 minutes in my car to get to the window. Then I waited another 8 minutes for somebody to come to the window to take my order. I waited another 10 minutes for them to give my prescriptions to me, only to find out that I would have to come back in 20 minutes to get my second collection. They claimed that they were short staffed, but this happens too frequently. This has been going on for over a year and I want everybody to know about Walgreens customer non-service. I have to update because of the pharmacy. I came here because of the flu my son caught. This Walgreens has a drive thru. I felt coming here was the best decision when you have a highly contagious child with you. No matter how bad Id love to spread it around Walmart. I was really trying to to be conscious of others. Since we were new here we had to submitt our info which took longer. I had to submitt everything to the pharmacist then come back a few hours later. We came right before lunch. They close down for lunch which added to our wait time. Once our medical info was inputted our prescription went through fine. There were no issues at all. I did it all from the comfort of my own vehicle. No one had to be near my infected kid, so that's a plus. read more

Been going head for years and no they are no so great, but today takes the cake and I will be moving my prescription. Here's the details: 1) ordered my prescription 2 weeks ago 2) told it was too early to refill 3) reordered a week later 4) they still won't fill it 5) went 4 days without medication and finally got a notice it's ready 6) waited 30 in car drive through 7) once I get to my turn I'm told they don't have my prescription because it's been restocked (no apologies) 8) they agree to refill in 15 mins 9) I take a deep breath and say ok I'll wait 15 min 10) he tells me to go to the back of the car line (they alway ask this and I typically accommodate this) 11) I explain I had already waited 30 in line and chose not to wait another 30 "coming back around" 12) he proceeds to berate me yelling over and over "I need to leave and go to the back of the line" 13) I explain I do not have to do this, I will wait here for the 15 minutes. He repeated himself at least 8 times, then gets his "manager" who looks to be 20 yo. No greeting whet so ever, just yells at me the same thing the man said multiple times. I had to tell her to "stop" to get her to stop yelling at me. Through all this these 2 employees were standing in the window doing nothing but berate me. If they were so busy l, then why not be busy? They tired to externalize their problems onto me when I'm not the one that texted me it's ready only to restock it. They even tired to suggest I was somehow wasting the time of the people behind me when a) no one behind me was upset, b) I had already waited my turn and it was now my time to wait at the window, c) going to the back of the line would mean another 30 min wait (twice the time they claimed it would take to refill), d) And I am the one that has already been waiting 4+ days without medication. 14) After all this, the prescription was filled in 5 minutes. Both employees should be fired. They were set out to escalate me, create a power struggle, and shame me. All in one go. 15) Absolutely horrible, a consumer agreeing to go to the back of the line is ALWAYS and choice and a curtesy, and one that I politely told them I was unwilling to extend in this circumstances. No apologies for absolutely absurd staff behavior. I am moving all my prescriptions. read more

Normally the pharmacy has there act together....not today! Dropped off 2 prescriptions at 11:30 and was told they would be ready at 2....got there at 2:05 and waited until 3:05 for my prescriptions. Unacceptable. To be fair, this is not the norm for this Walgreens but it was incredibly inconvenient. Pharmacy won't pick up the phone and the store personnel could not answer a simple question about a covid testing appointment. I simply wanted to ask if they would allow a tourist with an international ID to get tested, and if the passport will be an issue. I called 4 times, took forever to get connected to the store following the voice command, store connected me to the pharmacy but pharmacy won't pick up! Your store is offering covid testing so why isn't your staff briefed to answer basic question and why isn't anyone from pharmacy answering the phone??? Walgreens is where County Hospital sends prescriptions. I had two teeth pulled today. Part of pre op work before open heart surgery in about three weeks. I came home, my husband went to pick up a prescription for ibuprofen, that STILL was not ready 2 1/2 hours after being placed. Needless to say, my level of patience, and sense of humor have plummeted. So, I went down there, tears streaming, bloody, gauze-filled mouth, to actuslly sit there in their waiting area. And yes, it worked, they filled it immediately. Argued with me, about my insurance, would not accept my presumptive elegibility form, which they did accept for a 750.00 prescription only one week ago, which was accepted just today for the dental work, which was accepted yesterday, by the cardiologist, and the lab for blood work. My conclusion is that that computer screen, and those pieces of paper, do not represent real people, who are in pain, or in need . And the high price of some of these medications that can be collected from insurance, will be. But that 12.98 bottle of ibuprofen, they would rather have cash in hand and it shows in the way they operate. read more

Yesterday the store manager Yousef Mahmoud verbally assaulted my wife. She went in to the store to buy diapers that were advertised in a Walgreens flyer. They were not ringing up at the advertised price so the manager got involved. My wife showed him the advertisement but he still refused to honor the price. My wife told him he had to since it was advertised and he began yelling at her in front of other customers that she was a liar and a thief. Although I wish she had called the police due to his threatening and abusive attitude, I understand why she left the store when she did. Walgreens needs to fire this person and he needs to seek some sort of counseling. read more
