We ended up with those and a few stickers before ordering a brown sugar cinnamon latte (on recommendation from the barista) and a giant mint chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was really big. A bit on the drier side, but I loved the flavor. Not too sweet, and the mint was just right. The latte was really good. Perfect temperature, and just the right amount of sweetness. Very good espresso taste came through the foam. Perfect little treat on a cold and rainy day! Service is really fast and friendly. I'll be back!

Since we've been boycotting a certain coffee establishment with the mermaid logo, and our once coffee spot that is now owned by a private equity firm, we wanted to go to a locally-owned coffee shop and support them instead. My friend, who also happens to live in Martinez, found this spot on Yelp and we all drove here. We arrived there with a couple of hours to spare before they closed. It's a small, charming and quaint coffee shop with plenty to offer like baked goods and pastries. The young lady working at the counter was friendly, accommodating and provided us with answers to our questions and explained their menu. My Martinez friend mentioned that he wasn't aware this place even existed and that his kids went to school just a couple blocks away. They've been in business for 13 years, and she actually graduated from the same school that his kids went to. I ordered an Iced Pistachio Latte (not too sweet), while my friends ordered a hot drink (regular latte, I believe) and another iced drink. And yes, one can ask to customize the sweetness level to your preference. We also got a slice of Pistachio Nutella Coffee Cake and a Strawberry Coffee Cake. Coffee is good (that's all we can ask for) and she gave us a generous portion of the coffee cake since there was three of us to share the cake with. My friend said he would definitely return again since he knew this place existed and continue to support local businesses.

This was not a staff issue at all. The problem was the customer behavior. On New Years day I was the only person seated in the café when two women came in and chose to sit within 2 feet of me, despite many other tables being completely open. While sitting that close, they openly discussed how sick they were. In a shared public space, this shows a lack of situational awareness and basic courtesy toward others. Earlier, I eventually had to ask another customer to take her dog outside, as it was barking nonstop and she made no attempt to quiet it or remove the dog, seemingly unaware that this was inappropriate for a restaurant setting. The overall atmosphere made it uncomfortable enough that I left early. Public spaces rely on people observing basic societal norms of consideration, and unfortunately that wasn't present during my visit. The café and staff were fine. The customer environment was not. I'm honestly shocked at how much my outlook has changed over the last four years. I feel like I've done a complete 360, and at this point I'm just looking for some semblance of the basic consideration and social norms that used to feel standard in this country. I will continue voting accordingly.

We arrived a little early on a Friday (they open at 11:30, and we were already inside by 11:26 ), but the staff was very welcoming. The lady at the front didn't mind at all and even turned on the counter lights so we could clearly see the menu--such a nice touch, especially for first-timers like us. We ordered the grilled lobster balls, spicy dumplings, and braised pork with rice--each dish was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. For drinks/dessert, we had the fresh mango with sago, which was refreshing and just the right amount of sweet. And of course, you can't leave without trying the sesame balls--they were the perfect way to end the meal! Great food, friendly service, and a really good first impression overall. Highly recommend!

It has pickles and little pieces of diced onions. Tastes like a McD's cheeseburger, wrapped up in a soft pocket. I'd definitely pack up a dozen of these for picnic or road trip. They travel extremely well. I think for a house party--I'd pick up a few dozen of these instead of pizza. They taste better, stay warmer longer, and there's a nice variety.
