ALWAYS...ALWAYS open and recount any narcotic medication you get!!! They have staff there in the pharmacy that are STEALING your meds! And once you leave the store....you will be blamed for taking them!!!! When their staff and pharmacist have serious drug problems. I picked up my meds it was qty 10 opened the bottle their were 4 pills in it!!!!! 4! Called them and argued staff and pharmacist Mai argued and said they counted 10 which is a blatant LIE. This Walgreens is literally across the street from where I live and that makes up for a quick stop to get something that I need up to make up, household items, baby items or to pick up my medications. The drive thru pharmacy is always great, for those late nights pick ups, raining days, cold days or when you are just lazy to park your car and get out and pick them up yourself lol. Their items are always well stocked and organized. Every time I go in there for something, I see employees organizing or repricing inventory, which is perfect if you ever have question or need something out of a locked self. The only thing I wish they had more of was clearance items. Walgreens tends to be a bit more expensive than Walmart or Target but I only go here if I need what I need asap and/or don't have time to run to another store. Staff is pretty nice, the store is clean, well stocked, they even stay open until midnight during the month of December which was pretty cool and different for a tiny little town of Martinez, where everything closes early and only a few places stay open late during December. read more

I've literally never had a good experience here. I've learned if I have to pick up a prescription from them I have to double check I can actually pick it up by calling and verifying and even that doesn't help because I'll get there, sit in line for 20 min just to hear the pharmacist is out on lunch and I'll have to come back and wait again. Why send a text saying it's ready to pick up if I get there and you say I have to wait another day to pick it up? Do they not understand for someone with a chronic illness that it is hard to even get out of bed to get the prescriptions just to be told it's not ready or I have to wait another 30min to an hour. Or having a particular pharmacist judge you every time you pick up your pain medicine and have them be the only pharmacist that says they have to call my dr to verify I can actually have the medicine even though I've been prescribed it from the same dr for over 2 years. If you call be prepared to wait a min of 20 min, if you go through the drive through window be prepared to wait a min of 20 min, if you go in to pick up be prepared to wait 20 min. So, they are speeding up, but the best part is the kind, patient service. They were helpful and suggested many things that could help me with medical needs. YES they are crowded. But I think that is partly because they do a pretty good job. One suggestion: Have separate drop off and pick up lines so that I can do some shopping in those other aisles while I wait. Wait time isn't bad if you can get in some retail therapy too. I think the APP is one of the best parts of shopping. It makes the whole process a lot easier. read more

This review is for their pharmacy. For some reason they can't figure their job out lately at all. I was told four separate times my prescription was ready, had a call from their recording three times saying it was ready & it WASN'T. Then once I finally picked it up I got a call the next day saying it was ready. A couple days later I went to pick up another one for my son that the Dr faxed over while we were at the office. I waited an hour before going over. It still wasn't ready, I was told they just received it & it'd be 15 mins. I waited 45 mins & went back. They then told me again they just got the fax & it'd be another 15 mins. I said I was going to sit in the drive thru & wait & low & behold there the medication was 5 mins later! read more

This pharmacy is always so slow! They have one tech usually doing check outs while the others are walking back and forth staring at the line and don't even stop to help or speed up the line. The Richmond parkway pharmacy is so much quicker! I get the techs have other things to do (fill meds and make calls) other than just check people out but they could at least offer to help. More time than none they've called for a store worker to help instead. Get your acts together! read more

Been on hold 45 min. Every time I'm in line it takes over a half hour to be helped. The head manager or pharmacist should ashamed.

I have a complaint about the pharmacy. The people are nice, but my friend (who has cancer) and I went there three days in a row to pick up a prescription for her and she still was not able to get it. The order was put through 4 days prior to our first visit. By our 3rd visit, we were told she needed to call her doctor and have the doctor call her insurance company for approval. I do not understand why this was not handled better. It seems to me that the employees of the pharmacy needed to contact the doctor themselves and why wasn't all of this taken care of sooner? read more

I happen to think the people working in the pharmacy are very rude. Third time I have done a prescription here in the last four months and I am not pleased every time. They seem to be very short with me and act like I don't matter. I think any other pharmacy around here is much better. The worst I have delt with is Debbie or something like that, someone as short and rude as her should not have a job working with customer service. Although I live right next door and it is convenient for me, I would much rather travel a distance then deal with them again. read more

This is bar none the worst Walgreens I've ever experienced. They've made numerous mistakes on me (i.e. sending authorization forms to a doctor I no longer see, waiting a week after sending an authorization form to contact the doctor again, not contacting me when my prescriptions are availableetc.) but today takes the cake. I find out that, due to my mother making complaints against them (all being legitimate), they'll no longer provide service to me. Mind you, the woman who made this decision (their manager...Corinne?) is one I've never spoken to in my life and perhaps this manager would be better equipped if she was more receptive towards those complaints since disavowing them will likely result in additional grievances (from other customers). This review is for the pharmacy. 12 people in line and 3 store clerks strolling around the store doing nothing with only one clerk working the pharmacy counter. It took over an hour to pick up a prescription. Of course, it didn't help that the prescription I dropped off to be filled two days earlier was sent back from the shelf and they had to fill it again. Also, there were several elderly people that were having difficulty standing but they only have three chairs that were all taken. read more

Horrible service from the pharmacy every time I come. Prescription has never once been ready on time for the last 4 visits. They tell you it hasn't been filled yet even if your doctor called it in over an hour before. They still will tell you to wait 30 more minutes. Will not be returning here ever again. read more

Re: the pharmacy.... it's not so much that they screw up every order, even though that is incredibly annoying... but the fact that they NEVER take any responsibility for it. It's ALWAYS another pharmacy's fault, the doctor's fault, the nurse's fault, your fault. Sometimes their excuses are laughably dishonest (i.e. "I was on hold for an hour with the other pharmacy!") They've gotten counts wrong, sometimes in their favor, sometimes in mine.... rarely exactly what was prescribed. (This is COUNTING, people. 1,2,3...). The techs are confused by the world. They have tiny baskets. Its not a problem, but, its weird. The staff seems to be pretty friendly and helpful. The prices are ok for such a small place and with a Redbox outside, its not a bad place to stop by on the way home for a few last-minute supplies. read more

I went to Walgreen on Alhambra Ave. in Martinez, it was 8:30pm and I wanted to buy hair dye and makeup at the cosmetic counter. Usually at the cosmetic counter, they have coupons (not the ones form the monthly booklet or flyers) so I waited while my daughter got to the main counter to get someone to call for someone. We wait and wait and my daughter had to go ask them again. Than finally someone showed up. She came in by slamming the swing door and immediately said "Don't you know this counter is close?", I said that I wanted to used the coupons at the counter for the products I'm buying, she said that if there isn't a coupon in the monthly booklet than, there's no coupon. Than she tried to reach the booklet to show me and ended up slamming all the lipstick on display to the ground. She said that there's nothing she can do for us, than she left immediately slamming the door again as she exited, Before I could do or say anything. I requested for the manager and one of the manager came out and I told her what happened and she asked me what if I still want the coupon and I said I don't want to buy anything tonight. The next day I call 1-800-Walgreen to complain, they said they'll get back to me in 2 businesses days so I wanted. On Aug 24, i posted what happened on Facebook and the company responded and asked me for the whole story.They apologized but I don't want an apology from them, I want it from that employee that was rude to me. They told me that she didn't know where the coupon are but she have been working there for 10 years, How could she not know? Has she not learn anything from working there within that 10 year? Than,someone put $10 walgreen gift card on my door mat, that really insulted me. Like what kind of person do you think I am? I'm not rich but I would never take a bribe because I have pride in myself. On Aug 27 @4:45pm, The District Manger called me to apologize for what happened, we talked a lot and willing to help me get my justice. But the next time I went to Walgreen, I saw her working there.I was surprise, I though she would at least be like suspended. All I want is justice and apology from that employee. read more

Ok so my doctor increased my medication so I brought the prescription to the pharmacy to have it filled they stated it was too early for the insurance to pay for it and that the insurance would pay for it in 3 days so I came back three days later only to be told that the insurance wouldn't pay for it and I would have to pay $120 to pick it up! I was not a happy customer as the tech lied and just didnt feel like doing the work in filling it when I initially went in to fill it, although low and behold I called my insurance they did an override and paid for it! So yeah I guess they are in the business of not telling their customers the truth! I told the pharmacist that I did not want that particular employee managing or touching any of my medications and I did not want to deal with her at all again ever! Just tell your customers the truth for heavens sake don't lie to them it doesn't look good on the company or for you as a person. read more

I just moved back to the area, and I went into this Walgreens to try to have my prescription transferred over and filled in this pharmacy. This is after I went into another Walgreens and they were out and wouldn't get it in for at least 4 days. I'm a procrastinator, I waited until my bottle was empty and then some, but I needed my prescription filled sooner rather than later. My 5 star rating comes from the excellent customer service provided by the woman working the pharmacy. This pharmacy was out too (apparently it's a rare drug) but she got on the computer and checked at all of the surrounding Walgreens, she called the Walgreens that had it in stock just to make sure it was really there. She called it over so I wouldn't have to wait when I got there. She also did this without seeming annoyed and seemed like she genuinely wanted to help me. This is rare to find in most stores these days. read more

If I could give this company no stars I would. I am so disappointed in the service I received at this store today. Both the employees that me and my boyfriend came into contact with today were so rude we could not believe it. Never in my life have i EVER been treated so bad in the store. I will never use this store again. I was there to buy basic groceries but after the service I received I could not imagine spending my hard earned money here.
