CVS in Westwood, how could I forget to show you some love. Located in the thick of Westwood Village/Westwood just a skip away from UCLA, this former 24 hour drugstore/pharmacy/convenience chain has a truly unique layout with from outside to in as well as below... Yep this two level Consumer Value Store has a lower level you can access when you first enter off the corner of Westwood Blvd/Weyburn Avenue from the street - on the main level you'll find the check out counters, self checkout kiosk and all their beverages, snacks, food items, beauty, selfcare and big deals. Below is where their pharmacy, homes goods, supplements, stationary, medicine and much more is. I hadn't been to this location in several years so it was fun to see what changed. Seems like they might be redoing some paneling along the stairs, hopefully something artistic to give them a little more pop and color. I didn't really notice any hand baskets or carts in place, but didn't really need much at all after running some errands close by. I know they have an elevator in order to be ADA compliant and wheelchair accessible, but couldn't remember what side it was on. Definitely don't mind the stairs, but a pair of ladies walked in and took up most of the staircase without a care in the world when I was coming up from below. I moved over for them not only because it's polite but because they could definitely care less about myself or the gentleman behind them. I did interact with some friendly CVS staff including a pharmacist who was helping a gentleman on the floor with some allergy medicine. You can definitely track someone down if you need assistances. Good deals, cool coupons and a smooth checkout made for a nice trip. Parking is street (meter), private lot off Weyburn in back or local paid lots close by but also a very pedestrian friendly area/neighborhood if you're local or coming from other places in the area on foot, bike or scooter. read more

This CVS location needs a makeover from the filthy floors to the layout. Today is the third time I've been where it smelled really bad. The first 2 times there was poop on the floor downstairs near the cards. Today..... I don't even know where the smell was coming from but the smell hits you as soon as you walk in on the top floor. The homeless population is getting pretty bad in westwood so that may be the reason. As for the pharmacy, I always have a pleasant experience. The staff and pharmacist are all really nice and helpful. The line can be long at times but for the most part, it moves really fast. read more

Dear CVS Management, I am writing to share some feedback regarding my recent visit to your store. Overall, I found the store to be fairly clean, and I appreciated the efforts of the female employees who worked hard to maintain a pleasant environment while assisting customers. In particular, I would like to commend the Operations Manager, Nelly, for her helpfulness, politeness, and friendly demeanor. She performed her duties effectively and contributed positively to my experience. Additionally, she assisted me and another customer in obtaining CVS rewards cards for coupons and points, which was very helpful. However, I did encounter an issue with one of the male employees. He frequently closed the doors during business hours, which made it difficult for customers to enter or exit, We all got places to be and this is an inconvenience. Moreover, while he walking the store regularly, I did not notice the same level of engagement or energy from him as I did with the other staff. I wanted to bring this to your attention, as it somewhat detracted from an otherwise positive experience. I visited this store/pharmacy and I had a terrible experience. First, inside of the store is very dirty and smells awful. I think it's the carpets that have not been washed for years. Second, everything is locked inside cabinet which I have no problem if there are staff to open it. I spent 15 min. looking for a staff member to open the cabinet so I could grab a toothpaste, but I was unsuccessful (I ended up leaving the store). The shelves that don't have locked cases are empty and very disorganized. Overall, I had a really disappointing experience and will not visit this store again. read more

"It's just down the street" - that's what the pharmacy tech told me when we realized my prescription had been transferred to the wrong location. Despite me explaining more than once that I had specifically selected this pharmacy location based upon nearby work parking, the tech continued to insist that I walk over in the summer heat to the wrong location to pick up my prescription. Telling him that my prescription needed to be listed at the correct location because it auto renewed also didn't seem to sink in. "It's just down the street." Once I arrived to the wrong location down the street and explained the situation, they said " why didn't he just call us for you instead of you having to walk over?" Ridiculous. read more

In my previous visit to store no. 9576 I wanted to transfer my medication from Ralphs. They pharmacy staff are extremely lazy and they told me Ralphs has to do the transfer. On this visit I went to pick up my medication & asked them to transfer my medications to CVS in Beverly hills #9767. Again the pharmacy staff told me the other pharmacy has to make the transfer. I am a Persian speaking and your entire pharmacy staff are Persian speaking as well. They did not realize that I understand them and they were making jokes and making fun I my request. In general the Pharmacy staff is extremely rude and are always talking in Persian with each other and are joking around. I made a complaint and they made more fun of me and calling me crazy. I requested to see a manger and they said Kevin Stapveton is manager. I requested the key to the restroom because I had driven 1 hour to pickup my Medication and Kevin told me he doesn't give the key to pigs. read more

CVS pharmacy in Target on Weyburn DO NOT go here complete incompetence. There is a new crew there that does have any respect for the clients. No pride in what their job responsibilities are and could possibly give you the wrong medication. There was an old crew including Inka the pharmacist that use to be there for five years left for better pay and benefits elsewhere. The last three years Target/CVS replaced them with a different crew that seemed ok they have all been removed and Just recently they installed a new crew that is rude and zero people skills no common courtesy. They were late after returning from their 30 minute lunch by 20 minutes there was a line 15 people deep. They acted as if we were bothering them and did not acknowledge or apologize for making everyone wait. I would not trust them with my medication. Anything to do with Target will be the bottom of the pit. The most unqualified employees Target/Cvs can hire for the lowest wages and most likely the most unqualified. I was recently told by a person a scary story about kids in school to become pharmacist. His kid is in the class so this is first hand information. There was a class of 100 students and out of that 100 they kicked 25 students out of the class due to cheating on there tests. This is not funny when it has to do with medication and people lives. I got there at 11:55 PM and I noticed that the doors are locked and the security said they are closed and I said it's not 12 yet and I asked for his name and he said he has no name this zero star is for the security and the cashier who were lazy to close early. read more

I ended up leaving because they told me I had to keep my bag at the front. There were multiple other people in the store with bags but they single me out which was just weird. There was expensive things inside the bad and multiple homeless roaming around. If you're going to be a shop by a college campus maybe consider that people are coming from class and therefor will likely have a bag with them in the store. They already lock everything up anyways; which by the way it takes employees forever to open the cases. Me having a bag in the store shouldn't be a problem. The store also smells terrible and is really messy and disorganized. Maybe instead of worrying about people with bags how about focus on cleaning the store a little. read more

I was blown away by the customer service here. After I walk in I was immediately asked if I needed help finding anything. It wasn't a "we're asking because we have to" sort of asking, she was genuinely friendly and helpful. Then I was again impressed by another staff that I ran into at the pharmacy area, who seemed to have the air of someone in management (I didn't confirm). To be honest, I was there to buy something that was kind of embarrassing to ask for, but he was so professional when he asked me if I needed help that I didn't hesitate to inform him exactly what I was looking for. He told me they would be at the register if not on the shelves and he actually came upstairs at checkout to help me with the purchasing and discreetly bagging the item so that I didn't even have to vocally ask for it again. Amazing! I'm hoping you won't try to guess what I was purchasing, but please do know that the staff here are very friendly and professional. First off, the pharmacy/health dept is down some steep stairs. And of course then you have to go up again. Funky, old store. Then the line was 10 people long. I am a physician calling in prescriptions. The male technician that answered my phone call around 3:45 PM 12/28/2022 was extremely unprofessional. Did not want to take the prescription down. Requested that I send it electronically or by fax. When I let him know that did not have access to those means he quickly said "all right by" and hung up the phone. I called back and had a very friendly interaction with a female technician who let me speak directly with the pharmacist who was very, very helpful I let him know the unprofessional behavior. If you are in healthcare, and thinking about which pharmacy to deal with, I would reconsider. Also patients need to be aware that if they treat ordering physicians this way CVS likely isn't going to value your business read more

My wife and I walked into CVS yesterday afternoon wearing our facemasks. We noticed a security guard standing near the entrance and we both assumed he was there to monitor people coming into the store to make sure they were wearing masks. We noticed two young males, probably in their 20's, walk in behind us. The security guard stopped them, said something to them, and then let them walk into the store without masks. Sorry.....if this guard did not have the balls to tell them to leave, then CVS needs to find someone that has the balls. How selfish and disrespectful for these kids to come in without wearing masks. This has got to be the worst pharmacy on the planet. I was on hold for 35 minutes to speak to a pharmacist. I then called the main store number and asked for help. I was told that there was a long line of people at the pharmacy. I understand that. It was busy when I was there the day before in the afternoon. (Sidenote: the system was down and the store could not process credit cards so the kid in front of me couldn't pick up his prescription. In an ever-increasing cashless society, all I can say is UPDATE YOUR POS system). This all tells me there should be more staff. This falls on the manager, KEN BATTLE. Extra, extra, read all about it, I've got the news and I'm gonna shout it! It's been raining lately in Los Angeles, so it's cool and wet outside. Though it's wet outside, my lips have been quite dry lately. Usually, I carry some lip balm with me, but with the rainstorm early last Saturday morning, we experienced a short power outage and I forgot to get my lip balm before leaving home. Well, in a rush to meet a friend for lunch in Westwood, I decided to make a quick trip to the local drug store to purchase some lip balm. This CVS in Westwood was on the way to where we were going for lunch so I made a mad dash in here for a quick purchase. Being my first time in this particular CVS, I didn't know where anything was but I must say the staff here is rather helpful and friendly, sending me in the right direction. As I quickly made my way to the lower level and found some lip balm for only $1.29, I was good to go. The pharmacist even allowed me to pay downstairs! This CVS is quite efficient with their service, as I was in and out of there in less than 5 minutes. Go CVS in Westwood! read more

Open 24-hours is a plus as is the five star customer service at this CVS store. First time shopping, wanting to take advantage of last week's buy one, get one free (or at a discount) advertised special on supplements, I was pleasantly directed to the basement that houses the pharmacy, vitamins, sunglasses, sundries and OTC medications. Quickly accumulating purchases, the same cheerful associate who directed me to this part of the store ran upstairs to fetch a hand basket. Either I missed them or they're not stored downstairs. Upstairs find an extensive selection of health and beauty aids. Take advantage of self-check out or be assisted by a cashier. Either way it's an efficient experience. Get a CVS card to save every time you shop and you don't even have to carry it just key in your phone number at point of sale. Alerts of budget friendly deals/coupons arrive by email too. Hopefully CVS HQ has plans to renovate this location, as the physical plant isn't conducive to browsing nor does it match the upbeat staff vibe. Trust me, I would have spent some time and money in the aisles of beauty if the aura weren't so dingy. I have had issues getting my prescriptions from this pharmacy every single month since I started going here in January. This month I have attempted to pick up my prescriptions 3 days in a row, and was told every single time to wait for 10-15 minutes, then told they were unable to unlock the safe and could not give me the prescriptions and to come back the following day and they would have it ready for me. I have now gone 3 days without the medications I need as I have run out, and today I was once again told to come back later. When I asked if I could get my prescriptions transferred to another location the pharmacist said she could not help me and I would need to have my doctor call it in, so that is just what I did. Avoid this location at all costs, especially if you have medications you need to be taking daily!!! read more

I started coming here a year ago because it is the closest cvs to where I live. Since I've gone here, I have consistently had problems refilling my prescriptions. Numerous times I have been told my medications have been ordered and then they just do not order them. They don't understand how to use co-pay/discount cards and are unwilling to learn. Also, it you ever need to call you will be on hold for at least 20 minutes just to have whoever answers the phone gaslight you. Literally go anywhere else. read more

As with most drug stores, the snacks and random home goods and beauty products are convenient, which you seem to pay for through slightly higher prices (usually all of the things they sell are cheaper at Target or on Amazon.) You can find that type of thing in the abandoned-feeling upstairs area. The first aid stuff and medicine is in the slightly cave-like, usually disorganized downstairs area. This CVS has come through for me in pinches where I've needed to get random drugstore items quickly-- Sudafed, hair ties, garbage bags, etc. Sometimes, the pharmacists are really helpful and friendly. But, I've also been disappointed by them not having things you might expect and by lackluster customer service, too. I don't think I've ever wandered a drugstore more than I've wandered the downstairs area here for so long without someone asking if I needed help before than I have here. I've also waited like 5 minutes + to get someone's attention for help with the self-checkout. So, I would never go out of my way to come to this drug store. But if you're in Westwood, don't need to deal with parking, don't 100% NEED an item or need to talk to a person to get that item, I would say you should consider coming here. The only visible employee was a young black man with dreadlocks, sitting behind the cash register counter with his cell phone plugged in to a long cord. It's very conveniently located and has all your essentials. Its a little oddly set up. The pharmacy and random items are downstairs. The food items and hygiene care products are generally upstairs. They do money orders for under $1 which is awesome. My only issue is the checkout situation. Me: "Do you validate for CVS?" Attendent: "No." Crap. U turn, found street parking damn near a mile away. Walk to CVS. Pharmacy downstairs. Me: "Can I pick up my prescription"? Pharmacist: "It's on back order. Come back tomorrow at noon - actually, call ahead and check if it's ready". WTF??? Me: "... mumble... this sucks... can you transfer it to another CVS?" Her: "No". Me: "I don't want to deal with parking here, you don't even validate". Her: "Yes we validate - 20 minutes with a pharmacy purchase, in the lot right next to us". Me: "Why did the parking lot guy tell me you don't validate?" Her: "They do that sometimes, I don't know." On the way out, I confront the parking lot attendent. Me: "They do validate". Attendent: "CVS no validate. Pharmacy validate". Me: "This is called CVS pharmacy. The pharmacy is inside CVS." Him: *blank look* Me: "So because you said they don't validate, I parked a mile away. This is one of the sketchier CVS locations I have been to. Despite being in the heart of UCLA/Westwood, there are always drunk homeless people loitering outside (which gets worse at night), the store is not well lit inside, it feels dirty (ex: the shelves on the self checkout machines are always grimy) and the staff doesn't go out of their way to help you. Today I picked up a prescription here for the first time. The guy behind the counter (Sohrab) was extremely rude to everyone in line, shouting questions at them ("YOUR NAME???!!" WAS THIS FILLED TODAY?!!) and quite frankly, it made me feel uncomfortable. The person in front of me hadn't even swiped her c.c. before he started yelling questions over her head at me...Rude. This store is open 24 hours and they do have a good selection of items, but I don't come here unless I need to. The management makes a big difference in the customer experience- the location a quarter mile up Westwood (off Wellworth) is cleaner and the staff is friendly, plus I don't get yelled at by the pharmacy staff. read more

This review concerns the pharmacy. Now, not to be dishonest, I have had my fair share of frustrating experiences here, but I've found this to be the case with any pharmacy (and most people who, like me, are chronically ill and take many medications know this to be true). I have severe bipolar disorder. Today I went to my regular CVS on the corner of Weyburn and Westwood to get just a portion of my armada of prescriptions. I am depressed; I walked up to the counter silently. The pharmacist (who I believe is the manager?) looked at me and said, "For Elliot." It wasn't a question. He didn't ask how many. He'd been expecting me. He demonstrated that he has memorized every drug I take, and there are many. He has witnessed me have multiple very noticeable meltdowns in-store, as this CVS is one of only a handful of places I go and this is a more frequent occurrence for me than anyone would like. I guess this pharmacist has put the pieces together about where I'm at in life (which is not a very good place). He seems to have figured me out pretty well, since he kind of grilled me asking if there are any other medications I need, and if I would like a medication schedule print-out to help me remember stuff. (But he was nice about it.) Remember what I mentioned about pharmacy frustrations? Today he couldn't get my testosterone patches due to an obvious error in the doctor's prescription. I don't really do phone calls; he accepted this as my answer, and said he didn't mind calling the doctor himself, but he'd already done so four times. I replied that I could go to one of my social workers and they would do it. And he said "thank you" to me! In some sense, I know this is just common decency, not to treat someone like shit for being sick (especially when you know every drug they've taken in the recent past, and thus know exactly how sick and what kind of sick they are), but I am still personally impressed by it. I'm super-grateful to the pharmacy staff at this Westwood CVS.   My sister and I had a lot of trouble booking a Moderna booster for my 97-year-old mom and this CVS pharmacy in the heart of Westwood (with validated parking next door!) booked us an appointment.  For various reasons I wound up arriving there with my mom on both the wrong day and at the wrong time, but the good-hearted pharmacy staff here found us a spare Moderna dose and administered it with kindness and efficiency. read more
