I have used campus pharmacy for over two decades. Though attached to a major medical school they're very much an old fashioned drug store. All they lack is a soda fountain. But in a small space, they carry snacks, get well cards, some cosmetics, any orthopedic device I've ever needed, a small but complete selection of over the the counter medications, and they can seemingly compound anything. They even managed to fit in a couple chairs for frail or tired customers. The atmosphere is friendly, calm and small town. Ron, the head pharmacist is terrific. He is on the floor and picking up the phone like everyone else on staff. He is also clearly the decision maker behind customer friendly practices like allowing me to use my insurance to cover as much of my prescription (as many pills) as it does then selling me, as a separate purchase, the remainder. Any other pharmacy I've been to in my life has forced me to get only as much of my prescription as insurance covers or pay for the entire prescription myself. I fear his retirement. They were great about fedexing my prescriptions when I was out of state and they have a free local delivery service. read more

Highway robbery. Their prices are insane. They charged me $100-200 for my meds but when I went to another pharmacy, it was only $37. My new pharmacist told me that anyone that was charging me over $100 was scamming me. There's a shortage of my medication and they know that so they hiked up the prices. Shame on Campus Pharmacy for taking advantage of sick people. read more

I cannot not say enough positive things about this pharmacy- I would recommend them over any chain pharmacy (CVS, Rite Aid, etc.). because my experience has only been positive. Even through my switches in insurance and the struggle to find a reliable doctor, here, the pharmacist, manager, and staff went out of their way to make sure I was not negatively impacted by this, and have always been friendly and helpful. Huge shout out to Victoria and Brenda at the front desk, who always answer my questions and always have a smile on their face even while the store is extremely busy. Any negative reviews talking about" taking too long" or "not be able to talk to someone on the phone" has never been my experience, and gives off the vibe of like more of impatience/entitlement, which is not what I've experienced from any of the staff here. It's a pharmacy near hospital so busy is expected, and the genuine care about my wellbeing matters more than any "wait time," which I haven't even had a problem since moving up to this area last year.I appreciate y'all very much, and highly recommend this business for all the reasons above! read more

I am required to take a number of medications that often meet resistance from the Prescription Insurance provider. It's become so tedious, I spoke with my doctor in total frustration over the roadblocks constantly being thrown in my way. She recommended Campus Pharmacy near UCLA. She said a number of her patients go there and "love it." The difference was STUNNING. Helpful staff, cordial and warm Pharmacists--I had only one negative thought: why did it take me literally YEARS to wind up in their establishment? I asked a staff member who the owner was. No ability to actually speak to someone at the pharmacy. The phone number takes you to a message that says to leave your name, Rx#, and your prescriptions will be ready the next day, and the only option is to leave a voicemail and hope someone will call you back. I have questions about a new prescription, so I don't have an Rx number, I don't know if they have received it, don't know if they have the medication in stock... have no intention of driving all the way there unless I know my Rx will actually be ready and available. read more

I have always had my prescription delivered , because it is within 4 miles from the store it was always free. Yet on my latest refilled the pharmacist quoted the amount billed on my debit card without including a delivery charge of $7.50. When I called and ask why they charged this time and did not tell me in the amount billed, they lied and said they always charged. I don't like when people are not honest. read more

As the caretaker of a cancer patient at UCLA, I can tell you first hand that Campus Pharmacy (and its pharmacist) deserves, at the very minimum, 5 stars. My experience has been that their product availability, service, pharmacist knowledge and response time is superior to any of the on-campus UCLA pharmacies or other area pharmacies. If you get a new prescription within this pharmacy's normal business hours, don't waste time like I did going to UCLA's pharmacies and 8 other local area pharmacies trying to get a prescription filled (particularly if it's a narcotic for a patient in pain). First, if it's a narcotic - no pharmacy will tell you over the phone if they even have the drug in stock. They will tell you to come in with the prescription in person. After wasting hours of trying to get a prescription filled in West LA, Westwood and Santa Monica, only Campus Pharmacy was able to fill the prescription the next morning because none of the others had the medication in stock. So I agree 100% with other the other reviewers - don't waste your time going to other pharmacies. This convenient location has had all of the key treatment drugs prescribed in stock. More importantly, the pharmacist at Campus Pharmacy saved my day - after that crazy night where I spent 4 hours trying to get pain meds filled. I showed up at his pharmacy at 8 am (before they were open) and he actually opened early to help me and another customer get our prescriptions filled. Love the staff at this pharmacy, I recently switched over to them from a different pharmacy & I'm so happy I did! The pharmacist and the pharmacy staff are more than helpful and patient. They go above and beyond to get your meds filled and/or ordered promptly if they don't happen to have it in stock. I'm so pleased that I've found this hidden gem in the same medical plaza as most of my drs, which is very convenient. These people actually care about their patents/consumers and I highly recommend this pharmacy. They treat you with the utmost dignity & respect and it's so appreciated. THIS BUSINESS IS CLOSED ON JEWISH HOLIDAYS! This should be noted. On Yom Kippur, there was no sign in the window. It's only because the security desk was staffed, that I got the answer, and having to show up the next day, was told they leave a message on their phone that they'll be closed. Granted, "holiday" means "holy day" but didn't it used to be that, on such days, one person would volunteer to be there, to see to the needs of the customers? You rarely see that now. Today was my first visit to this pharmacy to buy a drink before my appointment upstairs. The stupid women wanted to charge me $.50 to use my debit card. I don't like being being nickeled and dime'd. Back in the day, merchants were not allowed to charge a fee for debit card use. Now they can do whatever they want. The laws and policy's have changed. Just walk a few steps to the cafeteria in the main hospital. You can find the same food if not better and you won't get fucked for $.50. It adds up $.50 here $.50 there. At the end of the month you've spent $20-$25 in fees. read more

Swung by to pick up a few hospital recommended items for patient's discharge. In my experience hospitals and campus pharmacies have always been great and reasonably priced (we've had a lot of purchases at hospital pharmacies and I work at a university). This one is overpriced and they have a horrible return policy of 7 days and a 20% restocking fee. I discovered the return policy whe I went to return two items 11 days after my purchase date. They did return one item (with the 20% restocking fee) but I was told to contact the manufacturer for the 2nd item because it didn't work and I no longer had the packaging (understandable, but frustrating). One item I picked up was a mid level blood pressure machine, the high grade model (same brand/machine) was $20 cheaper at Target! And to top it off, we were referred to this pharmacy by a UCLA hospital staff person after I asked them how their pricing compares to Target! Overall, I was incredibly disappointed with the limited items available, high pricing and return policy. I highly recommend you walk a couple blocks down to Target or CVS. read more

My review is simple. Please become a conglomerate...like Starbucks. But maintain your high standard of care, knowledgeable staff and expansive inventory. As long as I'm wishing, could you also have a CVS model 24 hour drive through? In all seriousness, it is incredibly difficult when a family member is ill, needs medication and it isn't in stock. They compound medication as well. Our neighborhood pharmacy (see review Balboa Pharmacy) is amazing, however they don't compound. This is a UCLA pharmacy...out of the way for us, but if your doctor is a part of that system there's a strong chance that the pharmacist and doctor have an established relationship. If you're running all over town trying to get a prescription for your kid filled...can't find it, call this pharmacy. If in the Valley I also recommend Balboa Pharmacy. read more

If you have a choice, don't use this pharmacy. You don't just wait for your prescription like in a normal pharmacy. After you wait in line the first time, they give you a number. Once they've called your number they can talk to you about whether they have the medicine and then fill it for you. I've never waited less than an hour. But CVS and Rite Aid will do it in less than 20 and they're less than a block away. The Ralphs pharmacy nearby is also good and is 24 hours. read more

Small intimate Rx staff always busy extremely courteous. The harried pharmacist will drop everything to help you but by his expression you can tell he is up to his _ _ _ in alligators. Compounding services also. What they do not have they are glad to order. Very honest. They try to help everyone with the same great smile and courteousness. I had to refill a prescription and called 310-206-3784. It had a choice of 3 extensions to use for refill. I chose the Campus Pharmacy and left a message with the required data to obtain my refill. When I came to pick up, the woman manning the station asked too many questions that were not part of the required info as per the automatic telephone operator. It was obvious, that they did not listen to the message I left, they did not have my refill ready and they had to ask the other pharmacy for the prescription drug. She told me to have a seat and she will call me in 15 minutes. But 20 minutes later, I walked up to ask her, my prescription was already hanging on the shelving. Her reason, it usually takes thirty minutes to refill although she promised to call after 15 minutes. Service needs to improve before I bother using this pharmacy again! Or they need more training otherwise there is CVS, Rite Aid, Etc. read more

Efficient and courteous. Far superior to other pharmacies I use. Great for pet meds as well. Prices are reasonable and In one instance the compounding pharmacist kindly saw on his own initiative that a Vet's dosage prescription exceeded the shelf life of the drug and compounded half to avoid waste and cost. I am very surprised to see how well this pharmacy was rated, because my experience was not good. I attempted to return an unused ace bandage and cold pack and they simply refused saying the items were used which I assured them they were not. Even if they were to take them back they take a 20 % restocking fee. In addition the cashier was rude and dismissive. I hope my credit card company has better luck but I will not go back even though I work across the street. read more
