Some of the employees here seem REALLY fed up with customers at this store. That's including the customers that they & their store are DEPENDENT on for the revenue that ultimately pays their individual INCOME. I'm sure they have been through a lot at this location, which I definitely take into consideration, but I don't think that means that low quality customer treatment is now acceptable (across multiple visits). I waited for them to come take a cheap item I needed out of the locked cages (that every item is in now), and when they did, instead of handing me the 5 dollar item, they insisted that they would take it up to the front where it would be waiting for me. After waiting in a long line, my item was not at the front.. So I just checked out without it. As I was leaving, an employee came up to me with the item I needed and acted like I was being an inconvenience. I went back and purchased the item only to find out that I missed out on a discount that I would have gotten if I'd have purchased it with my other items. I couldn't care less about the discount - ha, but it's just the principle of the situation and how the employees I dealt with could obviously care less. And this has been a re-occurring vibe at this store. Not to mention that the store's inventory has not been very great either.. ALTHOUGH, it is true that you never-ever know what people might be dealing with in their lives... --which is why I gave a 2 star rating instead of 1 star. read more

I got heavy flue twice after flu shot vaccination in CVS this year in January and May? It seems the vaccines were useless and not quality like years before! Staff is always nice, prompt, and gets customers in and out swiftly. This location definitely has issues due to the homeless problem surrounding it but how is that the establishments fault? They have a security guard near the entrance and I think that's fine. Not only does it protect the employees working but patrons shopping. I feel so sorry for the poor staff at this horrible location. Dingy and dirty in every corner, poorly stocked, every single item is locked up, understaffed so it takes 5+ mins for someone to come unlock your cabinet so they can bring your item to the front to wait for you since theft is so out of hand, utterly incompetent management, leading to unsafe and unsanitary conditions; not even coming close to a satisfactory shopping experience. The redhead guy is an asshole. Terrible customer service... he wouldn't even tell me if there was a debit fee. He wouldn't tell me which staff member would know if there was a debit fee. He was clearly bothered by me asking if there was a debit fee (many DTLA locations have up to a 1$ debit fee). Customers should be able to ask if there is a debit fee lmao. You should not feel any type of way when they ask that question. You should not go out of your way to avoid answering the customers questions because you felt some type of way about them ASKING IF THERE WAS A DEBIT FEE. I asked for a bag and instead of putting my items in the bag (as all the other CVS employees do), he just tossed the bag on top of my items, making me put them in the bag. I've never been treated this way in ANY convenience store... and all I did to receive this treatment was ask if there was a debit fee. That question was simply too annoying for the redhead guy so he had to treat me like trash I posted a less thorough review here and it was removed, or just didn't upload. I came to print photos and the manager Bob was awesome but his employee in the photo with the key-lock earring legit told me my receipt had the wrong price and that "he would charge me his own in store rate" and when I said "it literally says What You Pay In Store:" on the receipt he said "man I hate this s**t" and left me with no service. Cvs knows how to lure me back with their 32-40% coupons they email me every other week! I randomly came to this location early morning and was pretty impressed with the help I got from Mark. I try to avoid going to Downtown as much as possible, but can't beat the free parking at the meters before 8am. Not going to lie, I usually don't have any cvs employees ask me for help. Definitely didn't feel harassed or made me feel like I was a thief by this location. I know everyone complains about the homeless, and how dirty the area is. I'm a huge fan of CVS and I was really excited to be getting one so close to home. This CVS is well-sized, very clean (probably because it's new), and well-organized. It's smaller than the one on Sunset but it's a huge improvement compared to the one on Los Angeles St. The only bummer about this CVS is that they don't have self-check out...but I can understand why they don't. Also, they aren't 24/7, which is disappointing. Overall, I'm happy they are close by so I don't have to drive to the one on Sunset unless I really have to. read more

I love the convenience of this store, but I am incredibly frustrated with problems with the store's security. On multiple occasions, the security guard who works the front door (that I have to pass every single time I go in or out) has harassed me... not because I am doing something shady or trying to steal, but because he thinks I'm attractive. On two separate occasions he has actually followed me out of the store all the way to the crosswalk on the corner. Tonight, as he followed me out of the store, I told him, "Look, you did this to me last time. I am not interested." I then repeated the phrase, "I am not interested" more than 5x! His response to this was, "Well, what is your type, then?" Seriously???? I'm just trying to shop and get my prescriptions. I should be able to do that in peace. read more

Wow! Talk about above average customer service! I was very pleasantly greeted as I walked in the door with a smiling face. This already puts this particular CVS above most. I was there in need of some pass port photos and I was quickly whisked over to the photo zone for some shots. Marla (aka the Super Star) was very friendly and professional. She made sure I liked my shots and not only got them done quick but helped another customer with some locked away head phones while my photos printed! She then went to open a register to check me out. When another customer swooped ahead of me she apologized to me!! I had a great chat with a nice assistant manager about the changes to down town LA while I waited(this is when I was clued into the nick name super star). After just a quick bit Marla got me checked out fast and made sure to inform me that if there were any issues with the photos to come back and let here know. All I can say is I hope some managers read this. This girl needs a pay raise. That was far from a minimum wage experience. And when she does leave CVS, because she is clearly set to do better things, be happy you had her as an employee for a while. read more

I'd recommend asking after everything is scanned but you seem to always be in a hurry to scan the card. Then when I say can I get a bag, I'm asked 30 secs later if I want a bag. This is my review just for the Pharmacy department. The friendly pharmacists and technicians are professional and full of smiles. They are bilingual (English/Spanish and Korean), and the facility was very clean. The medication pick up time is usually quick and the waiting lines are short unless weird/rude people show up and start complaining with stupid things. I gotta say that a petit Asian pharmacist was so patient and knew how to deal with the unreasonable characters. Anyway, if you are looking for a convenient and bilingual place to pick up your meds, this is the place. But be aware of homeless people with strong odors and rude and disrespectful people/customers while you are there. Except that, I highly recommend this pharmacy as it is mine for past 2 years. read more

I shop at this CVS probably three times a day. It's convenient, I know the old manager Ray well, the new manager well and most of the employees. Yesterday i was mildly threatened by some punk at this CVS who pulled the 'do you want to step outside' crap on me, who i assumed at the time was a shoplifter being security guard was keeping close track of him. Saw him there again today - turns out he works there. So, when i attempted to speak to the manger about it, the entire staff of the cosmetics department where he is working came over and treated me like i was nuts. Even the security guard who was standing next to me and the kid yesterday, who heard it all denied it was him. Meanwhile, the punk was standing a little bit down the isle giving me the ghetto stink eye. I have spoken to the west coast operations manager about this, i am giving him the two days he asked for. Unfortunately my favorite cvs in Los angles was closed, I was forced to go to this place where the customer service was horrendous! Kamiria "helped" me - she made the rudest comment ever, as I brought the wrong receipt, for a dysfunctional candle ($17), along another item, and I just wanted a new one, or something similar, she agreed that it was faulty and that it could be refunded or exchanged. Then the rudest comment ever, right after I found out that I didn't have the correct receipt, I asked "can I at least get the a new candle? Or something similar, I didn't mind paying the extra if it cost more" she rudely replied to me, " you can buy one, that's an idea for you". I was shocked and I just smiled and said thank you, and rushed out the store. I hate to put bad reviews, but I drove 30+ mins to get here, and I get such a comment. How sad is that? Just because I'm a white male and she was of African decent I almost felt like she was downgrading my "status" so to speak. Locked the door as I walked up as 9:54 turned into 9:55; security guard tells me that they lock the doors 5 minutes before closing. Wait, what? I just spent all this effort to get to your store BEFORE your "closing time", and you choose an arbitrary period to lock the door as you watch me run up. What the heck is the point of a closing time then? Why not just make the closing time 9:55 then? I've never seen anything like this. Told the security guard that I'll complain to the manager, which I will, but I believe him when he said that it was the GM's rule and not his. STUPID RULE. Harm your customers over 5 minutes? I've been downtown filmimg all week and I've gone there to pick up a few things becuase I shop at CVS all of the time, (usually a different one) and I wanted to use my extra care bucks before they expired. After the rude service and being overcharged nearly $35.00 today, I will be returning all of my unused items for a ful refund. All week, I have had to put up with the cashiers that are by far the smartest people, and the security guards following me around as if I was going to steal something. But today Nicole was over the top rude and acted as if she was doing me a favor by cashing me out when she is a cashier. This was a digusting display of behavior by someone in customer service. I always tell my emplyees; if you don't want to work--go home. Someone should have told her the same thing, because she is not doing anyone any favors but gracing us with her presence. I really wish this store had self-check out. That way CVS customers wouldn't have to put up with the attitudes and the stupidity of the staff. There are a few cashiers' who are seriously lacking in common sense, social skills and don't seem to be able to read well. It is sad for them but I won' t be back. read more

This was the most horrific experience I've ever had. I had a prescription I needed to have filled and an item to return. I thought it best to do it all at once. When I got up to the counter, i was told I had to have my receipt to return an item. Directly in front of me, at every register, there is a display of the return policy. It says if you don't have your receipt then you will get the lowest price the item was in the last 60 days. It will be in the form of a merchandise cash credit. Ok, no problem. But I was then informed that you CAN'T return anything without a receipt! No returns, at all.. None... So I asked to talk with a manager.. Out comes KEITH COENELLI, he didn't even ask me how I purchased the item, what the item was, how I paid for it, why did I want to return it.. ect ect... He boomed at me "no way, we don't do returns without a receipt". I asked him why it says otherwise on this policy right here in front of us. (THIS IS THE BEST PART) KEITH CORNELLI SAID "IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THE POLICY SAYS, I SAY WHAT IS AND ISN'T RETURNED AND I DON'T OWE U ANY EXPLANATIONS. I BET YOU DIDN'T EVEN PURCHASE THIS" I was so embarrassed. In front of the whole line of people, he actually accused me of stealing an item I had purchased. I then asked him to show me where it says you can't do any returns w/out a receipt. Keith Cornelli said" he can do or say whatever he wants, it's his store". Next I asked for corporates number. He then had the audacity to give me the wrong number, some 800 number on the back of the "extra care card" . Its for signing up to the"rewards" program. As I was walking away, Mr. CORNELLI actually sneered at me and said " ha ha enjoy your credit merchandise card" ha ha ha... Im stunned, sad, and so disgusted about this. I can't believe that a General Manager at a CVS store is allowed to treat a customer this way. I understand stores have policies and some people are dishonest or may do things that are not following store policy. BUT he didn't even care to see what my situation was and then SLANDERED me in front of the whole store. IF this is the way CVS allowes their employees to treat customers, then I can't be a part of that.. I called corporate and put in my complaint, we will see if CVS really does care about us, their customers.. I will post as soon as I hear from CVS. This CVS is so incredibly convenient. To the people complaining about the scary patrons, check out the Rite Aid two blocks away on 5th. A trip there always turns into an adventure in Hell where you see stuff that scars your retinas. I agree, they close too early but I understand why. But the service is great. I especially like Sequioia because she's always super friendly. The cashiers there put up with crazy all day long and when i've seen them handle crazy well. Props for that. I also like the fact that I can take my dogs in there so that I can walk them and run errands at the same time. Once Walgreens takes over Rite Aid, this might be the only drug store in the are that also sells alcohol. Hopefully they will extend their hours then. In the meantime, i'm thankful for what i got. read more

This is a HUGE CVS, somewhat like a maze and since I could not find it in a previous review, I will assume it has recently opened at the corner of 7th and Spring, I write only to commend BRENDA, a cashier, who showed up after being summoned by some other cashier who spent way too much time talking with a customer, while any number of us were waiting in line. FINALLY, I YELLED "Can you get another cashier" and Brenda appeared|! Well, I had misread the price on the item-, which she readily admitted was misleading, as it was right beneath the item I had chosen, which was NOT ON SALE! But Brenda, being smart and an excellent employee, immediately said, "I will refund your money and charge you the price that IS listed on the sale item.!! I fell all over her, as she was not only courteous and smart, she had gone and checked to make sure the item had been mislabeled AND she readily and immediately reappeared to assure me that I would be credited! NOW THAT IS GREAT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. It's lucky I did not choose the cashier who spent so much time in talk: he would have incurred my wrath and my anger at the fact that he did not seem to understand that people waiting in line, are not there for the benefit of wasting time standing in line!! I wish I could give a zero rating. The manager (Lew) and the pharmacist at this CVS discriminate against those who are suffering from COVID 19. My best friend who is a local nurse was treated terribly. She went to pick up her medication that was prescribed by her doctor six days after her fever broke. Which according to the CDC is ok to be in public with a mask if your fever has been gone for 72 days. When the pharmacist found out she was getting her medication for COVID she shouted it out to all the pharmacy Techs and surrounding customers. She told my friend she needed to go home and shouldn't be out in public. My friend was completely humiliated. A few weeks later she returned (wearing a mask) to the pharmacy to report the matter to the store manager Lew. (Note, before she returned to make her complaint she had officially tested negative for COVID). After explaining the situation to Lew, he began to step back and told my friend she needed to leave because he had to sanitize the store now that she had been in! She again told him that she no longer has COVID and has tested negative. He completely disregarded her complaint and embarrassed her once again in front of other employees and customers. I understand people are afraid, but there is NO reason to discriminate and humiliate those who have tested positive for COVID. Especially those who are working the front lines to safe our lives! Being that these kind of people are running a pharmacy is even more unacceptable! read more

Unfortunately this particular store is scraping bottom of the barrel when it comes to service, cleanliness, and appearance. Managers tend to be rude and staff apathetic. Photo department is lacking staff and machines that aren't falling apart. Try to use the kiosk and the front of the machine where you stick the usb drive or memory into falls off completely. For the most part, you need something in dtla- this is the place to go. It's open 24 hrs and there is free parking. Anything beyond that and you're SOL. read more
