RE: Order #4671917 Preface: I like Smart&Final; they have items that I can't find elsewhere. HOWEVER, I'll NEVER in this lifetime order delivery from them again! I placed an order with them for $61.93, to be delivered today, Oct. 28, 2025, between 9am and 10am. I get a text message at 10:13am telling me the delivery person cannot access my building and that they have to get to work, but that they've delivered the order. I'm wondering how they can deliver the order without accessing the building. Come to find out that the delivery person left my order outside of my building on the ground. When I reached the lobby, there were no packages outside. They'd been stolen. I call Smart&Final and leave a message, because there's no live person to talk to. Then I began a 'Chat' session, which concluded with them telling me they're going to check with the delivery department and get back to me via email. What company in their right mind hires delivery people that leave packages outside of a building on the ground?! These are dishonest, unethical, and unscrupulous business practices. To make matters worse, Smart&Final is big enough to afford a live person to talk to if you encounter a problem. It's a rinky-dink business model at best. I am a huge fan of Smart n Final. I grew up coming to all their stores with my me maw. This location has everything under one roof. I have an appointment at 10 am. This location always allows me to shop shy of my appointment. Let me begin by saying they provide parking for their customers. I'm sold ! Along with that, they have made it possible to shop within a 90-minute shopping experience. The store was highly stocked for the weekend and had everything I was searching for this weekends dinners. Buying groceries shouldn't be this difficult. I did my 3rd or 4th order with this place yesterday. 3 things were short. I called them and they told me to call back this morning. I just got. off the phone with them and was informed everything was in the order and maybe the delivery driver could help me. I asked for driver contact info and was told to call Uber. I still had the driver contact number prior to the delivery. The number is no longer working. So I'm out for the cost of those groceries and no one at Smart & Final Extra could be bothered to lift a finger to help. Mind you it was about $10 that I've lost but when you're on a one person fixed income, it can mean I might be scrambling by the end of the month. Yeah, I don't know about this place. I bought these Chloe's cherry & grape pops I get at the supermarket near my home, and these ones from Smart & Final aren't the same thing! Same box and everything, so IDK WTF. And not like the price was very good. So this store is kind of sus in my opinion on the products they're selling. And to Ariel A. who wrote a review complaining that Smart & Final didn't want her filthy dog in the shopping cart - they're right! You don't need to bring your fur baby to supermarkets and restaurants, etc .. Just leave it at home, and cut the nonsense about "service animal." Just my opinion. First time here and have already been a couple times now, great location, the parking lot is very busy, there is a structure and very limited spaces outside. Large store once inside service at the register was slow but friendly staff. Large selection, very clean store, surprisingly no homeless outside. Would recommend this location and will return. read more

I love shopping at Smart and Final but yesterday I made a bad choice. The Pas Thai salad was expiring today and it said used by today and so i thought it would be a good choice for lunch. I bought it, prepared it, went to work, and boom, stomach ache, sour stomach , and sick as a dog! I will go back to the store but my advice to anyone is so t buy from the reduce to sell items they are low priced to sell them even if they are bad. Food poisoned from Smart and Final. Love popping in here if I need to be in and out for a quick item. The pros: -clean and kept inside -good deals on large quantities of things -no homeless -lines at checkout typically go fairly fast from the times i visited -free parking, I can usually find a spot right in front so that i'm in and out but theres also plenty of garage parking nearby The cons: -if you cook and enjoy a varied cuisine, you likely won't find everything you need here and will have to finish your grocery shopping elsewhere -no meat/deli/seafood service area read more

I have to give 1 star today. I waited in a long line and purposely bought something so I could use the restroom and redeem some Lotto winners . Strike One as their Lotto redemption terminal was not working. When I asked for manager assistance they would not provide it to me. Strike Two. Last week on Wednesday my service animal dog who was in a bag that says service animal was asked to be put under the shopping cart because he is "dirty" and to have respect for other customers and their real babies by a woman as soon as we entered, didnt even get a greeting and she followed us around the store to make sure my dogs bag wasn't in the basket area of the shopping cart ., before I state todays experience I want to start by saying that I am aware of what cashiers job is- it is to pack and scan items ; but today at 2:30 pm we went back had him in his bag on my shoulder and he accidentally started choking on his leash inside the bag while we where waiting to pay in line , it was very obvious we were panicking and trying to save the dog ,I yelled does anyone have sissors The cashiers just said "no " finally I ripped the leash with my hands grabbed my dog out the bag . I look at the cashier who is helping us who had absolutely no compassion , kindness or role awareness for the situation he had sissors and a razor blade on him ( in is right pocket fully visible ) to my surprise this is the SERVICE MANAGER ? Bernardino , if he's that way with the customers that's a shame he's head staff and In charge of people and setting an example for his team . Definitely never ever ever coming back . I also was impressed with the produce section .. it was beautifully well organized and fresh .. and stocked ! The lower prices on produce caught my eye as well .. I went to buy $6 of grocery and ended up paying $17 for parking. BullSh*t Talked to the store manager, TEO GOMEZ, and he admitted that the signs were confusing because there used to be parking spots for S&F in the parking lot. But couldn't do anything about it. If you're in a rush, I suggest you don't go to this smart and final. They're short staff, so sometimes you could be waiting a very long time for check out. But if you got some time in the day and don't mind rushing, this place is the place to go! They have almost everything I need. I am giving a one star review for the store because I purchased an expired DAIRY item. After drinking it, I saw it had expired a few days ago so I called and spoke to mgr Juan. He told me I have to PHYSICALLY go to return the item even though THEY sold me an expired product. I told him I have the receipt number and paid with my card and that I couldn't go all the way back to downtown soon but he told me that's the only way to do returns. I just witnessed store manager TEO GOMEZ be so rude with a special needs customer who had trouble during check out. He was very impatient and very obviously annoyed with him. Another customer even voiced his opinion towards TEO to give him some time but TEO was even rude to him too. I will not tolerate any rudeness from a store manager towards a customer who clearly had special needs. Awareness is key and with social media the way it is I should have taken out my phone to record his gross behavior. I totally enjoyed my visit to this location. Well stocked and in order is the way I would describe it. It wasn't anything they didn't have. They have a higher selection of desserts and treats. I bought something called Aussie Bites. They were awesome. The flip side is that I'm running low and I might have to travel all the way back to this location just to pick up some. When I first heard that Smart & Final was opening in dtla I admit I was less than thrilled. But now that its here, I get it. It's nice to have a Smart & Final in downtown Los Angeles since there are not many grocery stores there. This Smart and Final has FREE PARKING for their shoppers in the attached garage or in front. The employees (cashiers and security) are funny and good conversationalists. Parking is pretty good during early mornings and evenings because they have a small lot with additional street parking. Most of the produce is fresh, didn't see mold or fruit flies swarming around the produce. The variety of grocery items is pretty good too. This Smart & Final store has its advantages for all either living or working in Downtown. The ones who live out here must love having it within steps of their home; for the rest of us who only work there and drive further out from home, also good as you can get some groceries before heading out and beauty of it is that it's never crowded, no long lines! - one of the many incentives of working in downtown, just so many stores out here and a few more being built, that there's plenty for all and no pain or frustration of crowds like your local stores. It's always a sight for sore eyes when I walk to after getting off work and when I meet my carpool buddy (my hubby). It would've been perfect had it been the one of the Extra stores, but this is good when you want stuff for dinner and your starving. If your frequent S & F, than you know what to expect; it's that go to store when you just don't feel like dealing w/the crowds at Costco. True, there is no comparison to Costco, but if you can push going there till the weekend/or next month and just want to get a few bulky things for now, it'll due. Prices aren't too bad and I love the differences each store has, this one has items I like or love, as the other do. It's a highly organized and clean store. They have a security guard there at all times (for obvious reasons of still having a few lingering boos boos that roam the streets). A decent little Deli and excellent coffee. Parking isn't that bad as every time I've gone there's usually open spots. Customer service also good. Just remember to bring your bags or pay and you get those large sturdy recyclable ones. And on a final note, I must say about only this particular store: They seem to cater to the needs of the class of people residing out there they serve - good stuff!
