Got in, got great service, and got out! I parked in the parking garage and had to take the elevator up into the grocery store. Didn't have to pay for parking.

Honestly coming to the DTLA location is always a mistake but coming at 12am was an adventure. You get all the characters and more. Dancers. Beggars. People with no shoes. Gym rats. Suits and ties. It's truly an inclusive Ralph. Boxes were all over the place. They were stocking some shelves but it felt like it was the norm rather than the time of the day. They close off the self checkout and the line stretched around the corner before you check out. Waited about 10 minutes. Not enough staff interaction but they were quick to bag my items. Tempted to give it a 2 star but honestly I saw some items I never seen before and have been for the store was pretty vast and separated / sectioned off decently that I will round up.

Dogs putting their mouths on the food!
Septima M.

If they can keep out homeless people? They can certainly keep out non-service animals! Two and three dogs is clearly a violation and an indication of them not being for service! One dog is a service dog, possibly! Not two! Not three! Management continues yo not keep digs out of the produce and others areas of the store!!!

The store was clean, organized, and bright! There was even a Starbucks and Krispy Kreme! They take store inventory seriously especially when it comes to baby, feminine, and personal products because you have to pay for those items on that aisle and it's securely blocked on the other end except for emergency exit. We got to the register and Delfina and Kevin were so helpful and provided top notch customer service!

Thanks Vinnie

I went in, SEE PHOTO, and after the "experience" contacted Kroger (owners of Ralph's)Customer Service at +1 (800) 576-4377 Both employees on this line were very professional in taking my info. The 5 stars are for this Kroger customer number and for Vinnie. Vinnie was fantastic in listening and info provided as was his co-worker a woman before but I didn't get her name. Definitely recommend if someone has a store experience and they would like to talk to someone outside of the store. This is a great number to do it so this review added an updated for that experience. Thanks so much, Krogers! Vinnie was fantastic. He works for Kroger the owners of Ralph's and are a resource to go to regarding shopping experiences at Ralph's for this five star update is due to Vinnie and his coworker that are at this number, they don't work in the store at the Kroger's phone number!

They close

An update: although it seemed at first they tried to keep it open likely due to complaints, they've closed once again before 12am without notice or signs. Instead, they stopped all the elevators from working from the parking garage, locked the front doors and the workers were inside hiding. One was nice enough to signal that they are closed from afar but otherwise, multiple people drove off or walked away around 11:45pm. Do not risk coming at 11pm or at night in general. They are basically closed when they need or want to. 100% would not come here if we were not so close.

Shopping here tonight was a ridiculous nightmare of an experience. First of all, the store is a maze. you walk in, you are forced to walk back and forth before you find the aisle you need. Secondly, they make you pay for alcohol and health care products in a locked-in area of the store. You're not allowed to pay for all of your merchandize and groceries at once. Whoever thought of this concept clearly has no idea how good customer service works. Finally, to add insult to injury, instead of just leaving the store when you are done paying you have to have your receipt scanned by this computer contraption before you leave. Creepy as hell. As a result, i am never shopping at Ralphs ever again!

RALPH'S DOWNTOWN IS SERVING FOOD IN AN UNSANITARY MANNER Note the photo. It's a container of crab salad (although they guy incorrectly printed a Shrimp Ceviche label) i got at the seafood section at Ralph's downtown. Next to it is an ordinary non-sealing plastic bag. I've ordered this three times from the various different employees working the seafood counter, and each time they placed the salad directly into the bag....without the container. Their normal deal is to plop the amount you want into this flimsy bag and close it up with that little sticker you see on top of the plastic container, which is insufficient to make a sanitary seal. and this isn't the weirdest part..... They don't use serving spoons. Instead, the guy puts a glove on and just takes a scoopful of the salad WITH IS HAND directly and then dumps it into the plastic bag. This stuff is oozy like coleslaw. When they grab it, the goop starts dripping down their wrists. It's frigging disgusting. The seafood section is right next to the deli section. They have serving spoons there, which they use. They also have plastic containers which form an adequate seal once closed. So ya know, when i order it i go to the deli section and ask for an unused plastic container like the one in the photo. I've spoken to the manager about this and she said she would take care of it. this was weeks ago, Obviously she didn't

Rude, rude, rude representative of this store "shooing" me away (and then lies about doing it). Kelly or Nelly.

Where is free parking?

C'mon now, Vinnie. The "free" parking is free in the same way the Kool-Aid was "free" at Jonestown. The first step is always admitting you have a problem and complaining on Yelp about the unfindable "free" parking at Ralph's is a flashing red… Read more

Where to park?

Do not park out in front, cars will be ticketed and towed by the city. Instead, you can find the entrance to the parking garage on both Flower street (right before 9th, on the left side) and in Hope street on the left ( right after 9th street).… Read more

Is there parking?

Yes!

Anyone buy flowers here and find them dead in 12 hours?

Not at all, I purchased some lillies here and they lasted an entire month!

How is the parking in the parking lot?

I'm not sure what you're specifically asking about, but it's actually an underground parking garage. I've never had problems parking there, but I'm usually there at night. It has maybe 40-50 spaces. The spaces are not overly wide, but not narrow… Read more

I had just come back from going…read moreout and ran into my mom in front of the elevator, and she asked me to go to the market with her. But honestly, this place is absolutely terrible and horrible. Both my mom and I agreed that we will never come back here again. My mom had come to get a refund because one of the pears she bought the day before was completely rotten. The market manager refunded $2 to her credit card, which was fine. The real problem started after that. When my mom was trying to drive out of the parking lot, the gate bar went up after scanning the parking ticket, but then suddenly came crashing down. If my mom hadn't quickly backed up, it could have hit her car. The bigger issue was that after that, the gate bar never went back up again. Cars behind us had to use another exit nearby. My mom, who was very shaken, went to ask the market manager what to do, but she said she didn't know. (At first, I stayed in the car and had to tell the cars behind us to use the other exit because the gate was not working). I was very upset when I heard that, so I went inside and asked the manager for the building management's contact number. She gave me a number, but when I called, the person who answered kept saying she couldn't find the address even after I repeated it more than ten times. Eventually, she told me they no longer manage that building. So I asked her to provide the contact number for the property management that handles the building, and she gave me another number. but it led to an automated system. After selecting the emergency option, a man answered, but even after I clearly spelled out "Zion" multiple times (Z as in Zebra, I as in Ice cream, O as in Oscar, N as in Nancy), he still couldn't understand and then told me that they no longer manage the building and hung up. We arrived at the market around 5 PM and didn't get out until 7 PM. No one helped us at all. After the call, I went back to the market manager again, but she still said she didn't know anything. It made me so angry--how can a manager not even know the property management contact for the building they work in? I also have low blood sugar, so when I get hungry, I start shaking. I ended up buying a piece of bread from the Paris Baguette inside the market. I didn't have cash with me, so I had to pay $3.50 with my card, but thankfully, the staff there was very kind. In the end, my brother had to come all the way from Burbank to get a new parking ticket for us so we could finally get out--after two hours. If he hadn't come, we might have been stuck there even longer or had to abandon the car. Thinking about it now still makes me extremely angry. The customer service is terrible, the building management is a mess, and there was no security at all. I never want to come back to this place. We spent two hours there, from 5 PM to 7 PM, completely wasting our time. Because of this, I couldn't do anything I had planned for the rest of the afternoon and evening. It was an absolute nightmare. My mom was also very upset and couldn't believe a place like this exists. FYI) Every time I come to this market, there is absolutely no cell phone signal., which is another major downside.

It was so beautiful and intricately arranged that I was sure they painstakingly did this themselves. But, no, they got it at LA G&C and went on to describe all the wonderful offerings in such glowing terms that we decided to go out of our way to give it a try. And so, on what could be called a rare dreary day in LA, we made our way to the up and coming hip neighborhood now called Melrose Hill. If you haven't checked out the area, you should probably Google it -- this is a dynamic area undergoing restoration. The main developers aim to keep the character of old Los Angeles while attracting the latest and best venues -- cafes, restaurants, bars -- among them Los Angeles Grocery & Cafe. There is a large parking lot accessed directly off Melrose. When it is time to leave, you simply drive through to the side street exit. Easy! Look at my photos -- the place is barn-like, keeping its rafters from the original building true to the promise of the building owners, with lots of unique inventory and room to add much, much more. You will find things you don't see elsewhere. We snapped up a bunch of items to try, including a few of my all time faves: gnocchi, sunflower butter, and egg salad. I would have gotten the pistachio butter but it has sugar and I like my nut butters sugar-free. If we hadn't been pressed for time, we would likely have loaded the cart with more, so that means a return visit. I want these people to thrive, so please consider coming over here and while you are at it, check out the rest of Melrose Hill, just following Melrose Avenue farther eastward. It won't be long before the entire area is the best place to be in L.A.

Similar to other Asian market set ups you'll be able to pick up hot food and other items like sashimi as well as other Japanese snacks and goodies. I also happened to pick up some good protein shakes on sale there as well as noted some other staples that I would find in big chain supermarkets. I found the aisles to be well stocked. Prices everywhere are going up so I wouldn't say this is the cheapest place to shop but for what you get it's not bad, and if you are looking to get a variety of what you need for Asian cooking this is a good spot for it. Service was quick and friendly at the register as this no frills and casual market. There is a parking garage behind the grocery as part of the mall but it can get crowded on weekends so if you're lucky you can find street parking but watch for street signs and some areas and streets are not in the best neighborhoods adjacent so be wary of your surroundings.

I asked her how things worked and she explained it all. The kefir/kombucha bottles are $4 for 16 oz and they have 3 of each on tap. I asked Marcy about one before realizing everything had a QR code and you can easily pull up the ingredients and descriptions/directions for each item. I'm getting away from plastics and this place scratches me right where I itch! They sell just about anything you can imagine! I was so impressed w the selection! They even have produce and fresh sourdough bread! The day old is 50% off and I'm so mad I was in a pinch and had to buy store bought bread, otherwise I would've tried it today. I can't say enough. Even the music was fire and I was shazaming and jamming. Shower gels, body care, non seed oils, baking mixes, laundry pods and things you see in bulk at like Sprouts, but the quality and sourcing seems to be better. Some items don't need jars and they sell paper bags for .10 each. I did a kombucha/kefir tasting. Marcy brought these steel bowls over. No waste at all! If you drink the POG kefir soda at Erewhon and love it, try it here! It's made w fruit and is noticeably better! And POG there is my fave. Just try it at Re_!!! So when I was checking out I asked Marcy about being more prepared and bringing my own glasses next time. They've thought of everything!!!! There's iPads and scales in the front of the store. They weigh your empty containers and give you a sticker with the tare weight and then subtract it from the weight at the end! Revolutionary! They add 3% for the employees. I should've added more. Marcy was amazing and worth it. I'm honestly not big on tipping everyone for just breathing but if all the employees are like Marcy, they are worth way more than 3%! If you sign up you get 100 points instantly, $1 = 1 pt, and at 200 pts you get $10! It's not hard to spend in places like this but it's beyond worth it. I keep seeing things about the harms of plastic and don't get me started on all the other crap in our food. I foresee this as a new staple in my diet and home. They even have cleaning products! I'm getting my spices here from now on too! I'm a fan and I'll be back! Thank you Marcy and to the owners that had this amazing idea!
