Legit in love! I saw this place last month with a friend and was intrigued, we didn't go in. Today I was doing my monthly Rosie Bunny Bean run, hadn't had my morning kombucha and decided to stop in. I was promptly greeted by Marcy - she's amazing btw! I asked her how things worked and she explained it all. The kefir/kombucha bottles are $4 for 16 oz and they have 3 of each on tap. I asked Marcy about one before realizing everything had a QR code and you can easily pull up the ingredients and descriptions/directions for each item. I'm getting away from plastics and this place scratches me right where I itch! They sell just about anything you can imagine! I was so impressed w the selection! They even have produce and fresh sourdough bread! The day old is 50% off and I'm so mad I was in a pinch and had to buy store bought bread, otherwise I would've tried it today. I can't say enough. Even the music was fire and I was shazaming and jamming. Shower gels, body care, non seed oils, baking mixes, laundry pods and things you see in bulk at like Sprouts, but the quality and sourcing seems to be better. Some items don't need jars and they sell paper bags for .10 each. I did a kombucha/kefir tasting. Marcy brought these steel bowls over. No waste at all! If you drink the POG kefir soda at Erewhon and love it, try it here! It's made w fruit and is noticeably better! And POG there is my fave. Just try it at Re_!!! So when I was checking out I asked Marcy about being more prepared and bringing my own glasses next time. They've thought of everything!!!! There's iPads and scales in the front of the store. They weigh your empty containers and give you a sticker with the tare weight and then subtract it from the weight at the end! Revolutionary! They add 3% for the employees. I should've added more. Marcy was amazing and worth it. I'm honestly not big on tipping everyone for just breathing but if all the employees are like Marcy, they are worth way more than 3%! If you sign up you get 100 points instantly, $1 = 1 pt, and at 200 pts you get $10! It's not hard to spend in places like this but it's beyond worth it. I keep seeing things about the harms of plastic and don't get me started on all the other crap in our food. I foresee this as a new staple in my diet and home. They even have cleaning products! We were in the area and decided to check it out! There is street parking in the surrounding neighborhood btw. There's a bunch of dried foods and goods for the home (think dried shampoos, laundry detergent, soaps), as well as some housewares (soap bottles, etc)! They offer drink options in a refrigerator, as well. For the dried goods, they are in bins and jars. They have a station in the middle of the store for you to pick out the appropriate sized paper bag for you to pack your dried goods. You write the code down in the designated space (and I would also recommend writing a brief description to remind you what you got). Then you place a piece of their tape on the paper bag. Some unique items we got were these lime cactus sticks, sour cream plantain chips (so addictive), hatch chile plantain chips, and a bamboo whisk ($22, no plastic). Service was very friendly. Fantastic place. Sustainable, ethical, fresh, and decently prices. They have special produce sales on Tuesday and other sales that rotate once a month. The quality of their products you can tell. You can bring you own containers and the tags at the front reduce their weight- so you only pay for the item alone without the hassle. I always see LAURA at the front desk who is a complete sweetheart and it's because of her and what the space is about that I have basically converted so much of my grain/nut/condiments/soaps/cleaners/oils/ everything to this space! They continue to expand in other items as well. Definitely recommend. Check them out! Bring your bags and containers too :) I hope upper management can recognize/acknowledge LAURA in some way - she is simply put- wonderful! read more

I've been recently on a sustainable life journey and Re_ Grocery was an amazing experience. Staff: 5/5 The staff is so kind and helpful. As my first time visit a Tare store, I was impressed by all of the different options they had available. Due to the amount of options, the staff gave me plenty of space and time to view all of the items they had available. He let me know that they will be weighing our bottles and filling them for us to keep the place clean. I thought that was very great rule. When filling up my bottles with matcha, the staff told me it would cost $8 an ounce so that I wouldn't be shocked on the price. I was fine paying anything for matcha, since I love it so much. It was very kind of her to ask me. Options: 5/5 Everything is so neatly organized and the assortment of things they have seem endless. The staff told us that we could find all of their available items on their website as well! I couldn't believe you could actually buy tofu, eggs, and cheese here! Body lotions, oils, candy, spices, dried fruit, oats, flour, they got it all! I'm definitely sold on coming back here for more baking supplies. Btw, I love their gummy bears haha! read more

Ive been coming here for over a year and can vouch that the prices are comparable to what you would pay at Whole Foods, Sprouts, etc but without the additional packaging. I love that you can bring your own container to refill. The staff are extra nice and helpful- they will weight out your items and subtract the weight of your bottle. They also have bottles for purchase. You'll find some really unique items and vegan goodies that are not available in traditional stories as well. I fell in love with a grocery store today! I'm so glad this kind of shopping exists now. I'm an environmentalist and I hate all the plastic containers we are forced to bring into our homes from the grocery store. Re_grocery is super convenient to buy pantry staple ingredients in bulk. Almost everything is organic and vegan and they even have some GF rice pastas. I was pleasantly surprised to see some gummies, chocolate and vegetable chips and crackers. I'm super impressed with the selection. The owner was very nice and answered my questions when I needed help. Every bin has a QR code you can scan to read the ingredients and also how to prepare. I saw some chai latte powder which is usually made with real milk powder. But I looked up the ingredients and it was made with Oatmilk powder!!! They have collagen powder, protein powder, a whole row of loose teas. I can't wait to come back and get some beauty stuff and toothpaste tablets too. Pros: Beautiful store. Amazing and unique options. Very nice and patient employees. Very prepared for covid restrictions as they pour the items for you, but you can still bring in your own containers. I don't think you can bring in your own canvas bag, but they allowed my glass containers and egg carton. A close option for bulk/refill next to the valley. Great to see more of these kinds of stores popping up since it's so great for the environment. Cons: - Too many unique items that overwhelmed me/ I didn't know how to use - No produce in store (unless you order the $35/week produce boxes) - Need more items that would encourage people who only know or barely know the basics of cooking (ex. spaghetti) - The location is so fun and great, but I bet the rent is very high since I paid $0.65 per egg (I got 18 eggs for a total of $11.70 which is outrageous) - Still very expensive, inconvenient, and overwhelming option for most people who want to become eco-conscience/eco-friendly - Suggestion: Have an additional location not too far outside the city in a bigger space to hold more options for actual cheaper prices than the local grocery store. read more

I love Tare! When they opened during the pandemic and you couldn't use your own useable containers. Now you can! If you forget your containers, there's compostable paper bags you can use to carry your food home! The owner is super friendly too! They have an online store and do delivery. It feels so good to support this local business and to create little waste at the same time. I also I'm so happy they have bulk TOFU?! and udon noodles! Their lemon pomegranate energy bites are also rare and delicious! They also have a local skincare company Youth to the People and other oils and powders! Literally over 400 products! So many options! Alright everyone, here to report that Tare is a whole vibe. If you're trying to live your best waste free life, this is 1000% a shop worth checking out. Now, this isn't your old school crunchy co-op--it's sleek, modern, stylish, and an overall experience to visit. They opened during the pandemic (major props) so they've had the whole social distancing thing down from the start, which is another plus in my book. I visited last Friday and was able to walk right in as they had no other customers, but they also have some signage out front for folks to wait if there are more than three customers in the store. You can bring your own jars, canisters, etc and the staff there will clean and sanitize them in the back. Then you just let them know which bulk item you'd like in which jar (and about how much) and they'll fill them for you and ring it up at the register. I'm a grocery store nerd and I wanted to look around at every single item and ingredient onsite, but it's probably easier for the staff if you come ready with exactly what you want (although they were really patient with me). They also have some pre-bottled oils, nut butters, a whole body section, and some beautiful home items (think reusable bags, cleaning supplies, etc). I would definitely add this to your list of spots to shop local this holiday! I think the only downside is items can get a little pricey and add up quickly, so just be mindful if you're ballin' on a budget. I picked up some cinnamon sticks, mulling spices for fall, pickling spice, and jade rice and it was a little over $50.
