I stopped in while walking by and was impressed t find a curated collection of local foodie treats. There was everything from coffee to chocolate. Also, many drink options and supplied to make your own simple charcuterie board. There were hard to find items and treats that you might otherwise only find at a farmers market or festival featuring local food artisans. Definitely a food stop for a foodie and a great place to pick up a gift for someone with a discerning palate. Street parking in the area.

Chakka Chips. The most delicious jackfruit snack that I can only find in this shop on the east side.

I love this little snack shop. They sell my favorite snack, that is super hard to find in a retail shop, Chakka chips. Besides coming in to stock up on those, they also sell an amazing tuna sandwich, sugar free jelly for the kids, ice cream sandwich's, chocolate covered raisins and so much more. I love that this place has opened up on YORK. We were in need. When I'm in a rush running errands, it's a nice place to run in and grab something and go. See you guys soon!!!

This is my amazing me find! All the goodness in this me place

Their veggie basket is the best in the game, and when you're in a pinch for some soda or chips look no further!!

Today…read moreI was doing my monthly Rosie Bunny Bean run, hadn't had my morning kombucha and decided to stop in. I was promptly greeted by Marcy - she's amazing btw! I asked her how things worked and she explained it all. The kefir/kombucha bottles are $4 for 16 oz and they have 3 of each on tap. I asked Marcy about one before realizing everything had a QR code and you can easily pull up the ingredients and descriptions/directions for each item. I'm getting away from plastics and this place scratches me right where I itch! They sell just about anything you can imagine! I was so impressed w the selection! They even have produce and fresh sourdough bread! The day old is 50% off and I'm so mad I was in a pinch and had to buy store bought bread, otherwise I would've tried it today. I can't say enough. Even the music was fire and I was shazaming and jamming. Shower gels, body care, non seed oils, baking mixes, laundry pods and things you see in bulk at like Sprouts, but the quality and sourcing seems to be better. Some items don't need jars and they sell paper bags for .10 each. I did a kombucha/kefir tasting. Marcy brought these steel bowls over. No waste at all! If you drink the POG kefir soda at Erewhon and love it, try it here! It's made w fruit and is noticeably better! And POG there is my fave. Just try it at Re_!!! So when I was checking out I asked Marcy about being more prepared and bringing my own glasses next time. They've thought of everything!!!! There's iPads and scales in the front of the store. They weigh your empty containers and give you a sticker with the tare weight and then subtract it from the weight at the end! Revolutionary! They add 3% for the employees. I should've added more. Marcy was amazing and worth it. I'm honestly not big on tipping everyone for just breathing but if all the employees are like Marcy, they are worth way more than 3%! If you sign up you get 100 points instantly, $1 = 1 pt, and at 200 pts you get $10! It's not hard to spend in places like this but it's beyond worth it. I keep seeing things about the harms of plastic and don't get me started on all the other crap in our food. I foresee this as a new staple in my diet and home. They even have cleaning products! I'm getting my spices here from now on too! I'm a fan and I'll be back! Thank you Marcy and to the owners that had this amazing idea!

When they had penny candy machines, a big taxidermy deer head and the kindest owner. He once gave me and my sibling a big paper lunch bag full of candies! I love seeing the original check out stand, the little upper office where the owner would stand and the old fridge area where it once held fruits and veggies now old school candy bars. If you grew up in highland park in the 80s, this was the local market. How I miss those days! Highland Park is so different now! Btw Galco's makes some of the best sandwiches! Also if anyone knows where to get Stoney Tangawizi please let me know!

It has such a selection of candy from your childhood, and for kids, random unique gifts to keep them busy. but yesterday...all that flew out the window. I approached the sandwich counter and asked the person working (an angry woman apparently) what her favorite sandwiches are. After she took a minute to complain about how she had been making sandwiches all day and her brain is fried and she didn't really have any recommendations for me (and was seemingly annoyed at me even asking) she looked at the clock and advised that I was 2 minutes too late to order a hot sandwich. literally the 2 minutes she took to complain about her job cost me the sandwich. now, if it was my shop and a nice family came in and asked me my opinion on something and I took a minute or two to say the things that she said I would give them a sandwich and make that sandwich be the last sandwich of the day, but instead apparently my money wasn't green enough for her. She shut it down and two minutes later was out the door. she was rude, and honestly it just seemed that she didn't give an F. Today I called the store to speak with the owner and the person who answered the phone gave me the runaround. it was clear that either the workers didn't want to connect me with the owner or the owner doesn't want to hear the complaint. this place has gone downhill.

They have responsibly sourced, organically grown flour, spices, and other dried goods. The fresh vegetables sold are appropriate to season, and all grown in organic soils, with specifically organic compost (it is not mixed with the "solid waste" as City of LA compost from Griffith Park, for example.) They also have great breads. I get the sourdoughs (from Bub and Grandma's) which are stocked here. Some gourmet, organic, prepared foods ready to eat, soup stock, milk etc. from local producers are available in their refrigerated display coolers. Several area bakers stock their unique, high quality pastries and cakes here. Weekend pop-ups bring a series of eclectic food items. The prices here are admittedly a bit high. I can't always shop here. I think there are people who buy their beautiful art and pottery collection, but they are very expensive.
