I passed by this shop on my way back to the car. It looked cute so I stopped in to check it out. This charming little store offers a variety of pantry & food items, wine, and unique gifts. Everything is neatly organized, which makes it easy to browse. I didn't have a lot of time to shop, but I picked up a Strawberry Rose energy drink. The gal at the register was an absolute doll. She was so sweet and helpful. She told me she had just started working there. She's definitely an asset to this business. She mentioned that this place has been here a few years, I am surprised I never noticed it. Now that I know, I'll be back for specialty items and cute gifts. read more

What a lovely gem! We stumbled upon this shop just passing by and I wish I could have spent more time in it. Amazing selection of almost everything consumable in great packaging and we picked up some items on the way out. The Polvo tinned octopus was not a winner but the Meurisse chocolate bar and Graza olive oil were smackin! We will definitely be back. Too much to cherish in this cute little shop! Lots of great gift ideas too if you're looking for small items for snackers and sippers. Oh! Also, nothing was over priced as far as we're aware. I had only been to this area one time in several years I have lived in LA but this made me rethink that. I will be back to bring 'out of towners' and whenever I am nearby. Tourists and non need to come check this gem out. I found two items that were very unique food items (I won't tell you which ones because I want you to discover them for yourself). This place encompasses why it is important to shop local and small. You will never see so many unique items in any big box or smaller chain. The items in this store are very specially curated but still very reasonable. I really like how the area is changing and becomming a funky area without being too 'hipster.' You can easily spend a few hours if you stop for a meal or some drinks. Hot tip: You can park free on virtually any side street which may require you to walk an extra two minutes so, don't be lazy and save some $$. I have a few photos but it will take some time to find them so, don't hold your breath Also, just a block down is an amazing street mural from Mr. BBaby (must see if you are into street art like me). read more

Lovely ambience and amazing curated selection of food, but incredibly overpriced. $10 for a loaf of bread?! $4 for shrimp chips that go for $1 at the asian markets? $6 for tortilla chips when Super A is down the street?! I guess this isn't out of the norm if you're used to Whole Food/erewhon/lassens prices, but the website touts their price points as "accessible", which is far from the truth. It's not surprising to see price points so high given the gentrification of this entire strip and higher median income of the community in the past years, but it seems like a flagrant slap in the face to the folks that built and founded this community. If a portion of the profits were going back to the community, the steep prices would make more sense, but from what I see, just another whitewashed example of gentrification. UPDATE: I bought the $10 bread and ate it, and it's good as hell. Consider me a sucker. read more

I stopped in while walking by and was impressed t find a curated collection of local foodie treats. There was everything from coffee to chocolate. Also, many drink options and supplied to make your own simple charcuterie board. There were hard to find items and treats that you might otherwise only find at a farmers market or festival featuring local food artisans. I love this little snack shop. They sell my favorite snack, that is super hard to find in a retail shop, Chakka chips. Besides coming in to stock up on those, they also sell an amazing tuna sandwich, sugar free jelly for the kids, ice cream sandwich's, chocolate covered raisins and so much more. It's nice to walk into a little corner store and be able to find things besides Doritos and Mountain Dew. The variety of drinks (soda, kombucha, dairy) are eclectic and intriguing. There's an endless supply of snacks, from chips (of the potato, lentil, yam, etc. kind), to chocolates, candies, and refrigerated goods like sandwiches, cheeses and pickles. I've discovered so many cool snacks and drinks the past couple of months. These guys keep expanding their inventory, so I almost always see something new.
