Y'all don't even deserve one star. This is honestly the worst CVS I've ever been too. Everyone that works in the pharmacy is rude and untrained to do their jobs. They screw up all your prescriptions and then make you wait 30-40 minutes while they fix it, while also giving you an attitude. It's not my fault your incapable of doing your job right the first or even the second time. Learn how to talk to your customers before it's too late and everyone stops coming to y'all altogether. Can not get through to them on the phone. To speak to pharmacy personnel on the phone is nearly impossible. I've called 3 times and was on hold for 30 minutes EACH time. . I gave up after 30 minutes on hold. The lines are always long. There is not a separate person for photos. You have to wait in line and then the personnel has to leave this line to go get your pictures. Just called again and got voicemail after holding for 30 minutes. 30 MINUTES AGAIN! I don't know what happened here but this pharmacy has gone from mediocre to horrible in less than a month. They aren't fulfilling prescription refill orders. They don't answer their phone to speak with doctors to authorize refills again. They take hours to fill prescriptions that are out because of their ineptitude. Every time I visit this CVS, the new Walgreens just a few doors down looks that much more attractive... Let me start by admitting that I typically only use the pharmacy. But judging from the lengthy checkout lines up front, the rest of the store is equally bad. That being said, let's focus on that pharmacy. It has a drive-thru window, which you will immediately regret pulling into--even on the odd chance that there's nobody in front of you. And trust me, there's usually going to be somebody in front of you; and they're going to take an average of at least 10 minutes per car, usually more. I once recommended to the pharmacist (when I finally arrived at the window some 25 minutes after I'd entered the line, and had burned nearly a quarter of a tank of gas) that they expand their operations by adding a gas pump on site. But I digress. Ironically, a big part of the problem seems to be the fact that their pharmacy is OVERstaffed. Years ago, pharmacies were typically manned by just one or two people. Granted, they were usually overworked, but they did the job right. CVS has an average of no less than 8 people in white lab coats populating the pharmacy at any given time. Sure, it looks impressive at first; but upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that there's probably only one actual, bonafide pharmacist among them--the rest are likely college students working towards credit of some sort. That would ordinarily be fine, except that none of them apparently know what they're actually doing. Watching them bumble and stumble over each other, trying to locate orders that are filed by that most cryptic of organizing systems--alphabetical order--it's a comedy of errors. Except, after the first dozen or so times, it's just not funny anymore. The past four times I've gone to pick up prescriptions, not only have they not been ready at the promised time, they were only just then starting to fill them. The last visit also included a mislabeling fiasco, in which one of my wife's prescriptions had been labeled as my own. Humor aside, prescriptions are obviously a serious matter. And I can honestly say that I've lost any bit of confidence in allowing this store to continue filling mine. read more

Are there long lines? Yes. Is this a popular location? Yes. Is the pharmacy understaffed? Yes. Does the staff do everything they can to take care of you? Yes. I've been using this pharmacy for seven years. I have plenty of other local choices but the friendly and knowledgeable staff are why I bring my prescriptions here. If you think waiting in line is frustrating, imagine how they feel? A pharmacist's work calls for attention and exactness - two things not readily available when working in a retail environment. All of these staff members - all of them - endure long hours and a frantic pace to serve us, the customer. They do a fine job. All of the pharmacists, Haley especially, have taken the time to get to know me, my family, and the care we need. Would it be cliche to say they deliver a small town old-fashioned customer service? The level of incompetence of the pharmacy staff at this particular CVS location is simply incomprehensible. Over a 7 month period they failed to filled my prescription correctly first time, ON EVERY SINGLE OCCASION! And it's not just me, take a look at the number of people standing around waiting for them to get it right. Go to Walgreens. It's 2 blocks away. The people are friendly and know what they are doing - you call them up, and collect your stuff when its ready - simple, just the way it should be. BTW: this is my first ever post on yelp. I sincerely wish I could give negative stars for this place. The store part of the CVS is fine, pretty much just like every other CVS in the country. You can get some good deals, and I always make a point to check the coupon kiosk if I have to go inside. The pharmacy, however, is a different matter entirely. We've been using this CVS since we moved to Centreville in 2007, save for a blissful period of about six months when we used the neighboring Walgreens (more on that in a minute). Since we first started using the CVS, there has been a significant decline in pharmacy operations. It was never awesome, super, stellar customer service, but it was probably averaging a 3 or 4 star rating, simply because my prescriptions were generally filled on time and were accurate. If I had to give a grade today, it wouldn't even be an "F", it'd be an incomplete. In the last probably 2 years, I cannot remember a time when my prescription was filled on time. Our pediatrician's office is out in Manassas and it takes me about 20-30 minutes to get to the CVS from there, and the script is never filled. During our days with Walgreens, scripts were ready by the time I arrived, every time. And it's not even for scripts I'd like filled immediately, either. My last prescription was handed over through the drive-through and I was asked when I'd like it - I said 10am the next day. "No problem" - and it shouldn't have been. But, this is CVS and you really can't expect them to follow through on something like that. I showed up at 1pm and no script. At this point, I'm truly the idiot in the situation because I continue to use this CVS, when its only saving grace is that it has a drive through and I have two young kids in car seats and I hate having to lug them in/out just about equally as much as I dislike this CVS. I long for our wonderful days with Walgreens, but they unfortunately no longer accept our insurance. Someday, though, I'd love to ask the pharmacy manager how they are so poorly organized that they have a 100% failure rate; I'm really just curious what you have to be doing to get it wrong 100% of the time. It's impressive. Anyway, if you are stuck with CVS for whatever reason, here's the trick to having your script filled and waiting for you when you pull up to that window: give them ample time, and call and check on it. Drop off your script at 9am? Do not expect to pick it up until at least 5pm, and call around 1pm to check on it. When you call at 1pm, tell them you'll be there in 15 minutes. If you tell them you will be there in 15 minutes, and they have already had the script for several hours, that is the ONLY way they'll be sure to have it ready for you. read more

CVS, especially the one here in Centreville, always seems cluttered with dark, narrow aisles and a small prescription counter. The customer service seems to be about ignoring you as much as possible for as long as possible. This is worse at night. As someone who works odd hours & sometimes has to shop late, I often found myself waiting and waiting and waiting for the one pharmacist on duty to simply see I was there (twice I left before even that happened). Same thing at the registers where on more than one night I found myself angrily walking out of CVS because no one was around to ring me out. Conversely, if there is someone at the register be warned: waiting behind more than one person often means you could be there a while. Be sure to have your CVS "Extra Care" card ready because in place of a greeting they'll demand it from you in that "I hate having to say this every day" way. One of my last experiences there included the cashier using foul language on his cell phone while ringing me out! Of real annoyance is their lack of public bathrooms. When I'm sick and been drinking plenty of fluids then find myself waiting & waiting for someone to help me a bathroom would be nice. I recently joked that I feel sorry for anyone waiting to have their bladder-control prescription filled there! I was so glad when Walgreens opened a new store just south of them on route 29. Walgreens is everything this CVS is not. Once my last prescription refill at CVS was used up I switched to Walgreens. I recommend any one in the Centreville area who has been using this CVS try Walgreens and see if you don't do the same. read more

Worst place to get your prescriptions filled the pharmacist yells at the customers. When they ask to speak to a manager she pointed at a picture of the manger. The pharmacist is insulting and sad part is the tech seemed like a nice person. What is worse is they did not even fill the prescriptions. One of them has a note to call to verify but nothing else. Every time I enter that CVS - the customer service is always very genuine with warm and friendly hello's and help if you need it. Its the most friendliest CVS I have ever encountered lol. I was going to give 4 stars due to the pharmacy always being very busy - but even with that, their customer service is great and they go as quickly as they can with quality. Its a busy area. I've been coming here ever since I moved to Centreville five years ago. It's convenient since it's close to home and open 24 hours. I usually drop off my prescriptions and then pick them up later on so I don't have to wait. I do have to say that the wait time is reasonable, except during rush hour (between 5 and 7). Walmart is about low prices and CVS (people's as I like to call it) is about convenience. read more

My husband and I have given this CVS pharmacy plenty of opportunity to show improvement in their service, to include an email to the corporate office. We have since switched to Walgreen's and here's why: First, the customer service is horrible. I've waited upwards to 30 minutes on the telephone to speak to someone, several times. Even calling ahead and designating a time for a prescription refill pick up has served me no purpose. Not only do I call and ask if it's ready (with them saying yes), when I get there it's not ready or they do not have that and they have failed to contact me to inform me of this. When in the store, no one seems helpful or as if they actually want to be there. They do not ask if you have questions or offer a consultation (which in my opinion, they should). When they say they will contact your doctor's office (because they've probably lost your prescription the doctor has called in), they mean they will....in a few hours...or maybe even tomorrow. Second, I called in a prescription a day in advance in hopes that I could swing by and pick it up as my family began a road trip (with a 5 month old mind you). For those of you with little ones, you can appreciate the fact that if the baby's napping in the car you're in luck for the road trip)...hubby waited in the car while I went in to handle business. Not only did I have to wait 20 minutes to receive help (at a non-busy part of the day), they tried to charge me as if I had no insurance (which when I asked, they had my insurance card on file), then gave me the wrong type of prescription. I asked them to rush the refill since they were in the wrong..their idea of rush took 30 more minutes!!! So naturally, baby wakes and our trip is delayed by an hour as we attend to her. Third, they do not seem very clean. For instances, they just throw a handful of syringes in the bag with your prescription if you have one that must be given orally; Walgreen's is a million times more hygienic because they provide syringes that are individually wrapped. The store itself does not seem like it's well maintained either. I could go on and on...bottom line: just go to Walgreen's. Do not waste your time at this CVS location. read more

I have been going to this CVS for at least the last 8 years- I think more. I lived in Centreville at the time, I have been living in Haymarket for the last 5 years. I actually love it! Usually I call in refills and pick them up at my convenience- either walk in or drive-thru. Sometimes I'll wait for a new RX to be filled if I've just come from the doctors (all of mine are still in Centreville), and I don't have any complaints at all. told me I'd get my meds in an hour. i said alright, gave them 3 instead, came back & my prescription/name/dob were sitting on the counter blatant as day and never was filled. i asked how this could be? got a blank stare & a half-hearted apology. in translation: we forgot to fill it & we messed up but we don't care because we're backed up now (i worked at cvs - the best part) so i'm aware of the pharmacies procedure. i asked for the pharmacist asap who got it filled for me in 5 minutes after I made my case (was not happy). i have a prescription I rely on to function, if i did & do not get it bad things happen. i was angry not for me, but because i am one of the million customers they serve who also are in the same position. they slipped & i took it way later than planned. As I was out running errands on Saturday afternoon and knew i needed to get some nail polish and ice cream, but only wanted to make 1 stop so I ended up stopping at CVS. This location is never too crowded and the workers are pretty friendly. There are usually workers in the aisles stocking shelves, so they are available to answer questions and point you in the right direction. I scoped out the ice cream first and they had several flavors of Edy's, so I grabbed cookies n cream for the hubby. Then I made my way to the nail polish section and spent way too much time there. But they had a ton of variety and cheap and expensive options. This CVS always delivers on being well stocked and having friendly co-workers. And this location is open 24 hours, so you can stop by whenever you feel the urge to shop for random things. read more

Tried giving this place a try. Waited 30 minutes to fill a medication and finally went to the front desk as my name hasn't been called and they informed me they wouldn't have it until the next day. Returned the next day, waited ANOTHER 40 minutes in the drive thru line (with a 4 year old) and it wasn't ready... wasn't greeted in any way just asked for DOB. They are the rudest group of people I've ever dealt with. They told me my prescription would be ready in 30 minutes. I waited 30 minutes then they told me they did not have the medications, but they would have them tomorrow evening. They said they could give me enough of the prescription until tomorrow evening but I would have to wait 30 more minutes for them to fill it. I waited 30 more minutes for them to give me enough for 24 hours, after 30 minutes they still didn't have it ready. While I was waiting for my hour and 20 minutes I saw at least 10 different customers come back because their prescriptions were filled with the wrong medication. read more

We loved this pharmacy for years but it has really gone downhill. They make so many errors and then ask me to jump though a bunch of hoops, with attitude, so that they can fix what they messed up. I'm starting to look elsewhere. I would love to stay if some of these issues could be remedied. Seems like there are major issues with their computer systems. They either glitch or are so antiquated that the staff makes errors when inputting information. Also the attitude needs to go, especially as I don't come to them with one. My husband went here to fill two prescriptions of liquid Tamiflu for my children. After spending an hour waiting for the medication to be filled, when he brought them home, all five bottles were all powder. When I called them up to ask why it's in powder form and not liquid, the person on the phone said "Oh, they didn't mix them for you? Bring them back to the store and we'll mix them for you". What the heck! They forgot to complete the process? Do I feel safe to let them dispense my medication? Plus it was way more expensive compare to Giant where I filled my Tamiflu. My son's med costs $127.22 & my daughter's med costs $87.00 and they are after insurance where mine cost $ $42.79 at Giant. I don't know why the price for Tamiflu ranged so wide. The only different btw. mine and the children were theirs in liquid and mine in pills. The reason I sent my husband here because Giant & Costco run out of liquid Tamiflu. So in panic mode because we need to have the children take their med ASAP & it was already late in the afternoon from wasted time putting in the prescriptions at both Giant & Costco and to find out they don't have it, CVS was the only one came to mind when I called them & they said they do have it. Next time I will take other reviewers advice by going to Wal-Mart or Walgreen first before I come to this place again. read more

My husband and I are both on maintenance medications. Yesterday he got a call from someone in the pharmacy telling him he could pick up the prescriptions today. I dropped my prescription early morning, came back 9 hours later and my medications still weren't filled. On top of that, they didn't have one of my medications in stock and failed to even call me to let me know. I had to make another trip there several days later to pick up my prescription. I had handed the pharmacist (or receptionist) another RX for a medication my first visit, something that I could get over-the-counter and she was nice enough to tell me she can get it ready for me when I pick up everything all together. Well it was never there, and they even lost my prescription. I don't even know exactly what was even written on there. I had came here to pick up medication after having surgery. I did not have my insurance card with me but did have all my insurance information written down and I also had my ID. Mai P Tran refused to take my insurance and made me pay for my medication. This is the worst CVS Pharmacy I've ever been to. I later called my insurance company and asked if she was allowed to refuse me and they told me she couldn't. I can not believe she did what she did, I'm extremely disappointed in her actions. read more
