What a rare experience! When our 3 year old tv lost it's ability to change volume we were referred to CVS. The owner explained the options for repair and thoroughly detailed the best ways to work with the warranty company. When the motherboard wasn't available from the parts house ("out of stock"), he took the extra step to contact Samsung directly. Bottom line was that the tv was repaired in about a week and for almost $300 less than the original estimate. I had my Samsung TV fixed here. After 2 years of having it, the damn thing wouldn't turn on any more. I frequently pass this area, so I decided to stop by and talk with the gentleman inside. The guy was really nice and explained that they would look at it and give me an estimate before they would do the work. The cost turned out to be around $140 to fix, so I decided just to go ahead and get it over with, because spending an additional $500 on a new one would really piss me off. The tv has been fixed now for over a year, so they did something right :) P.S.: I don't know if it is true or not, but they said they were in the process of moving, so maybe check online in case you make a special trip to the address that is listed. read more

I recently visited CVS Electronics about a problem with my 52" Samsung television. My experience with CVS was in line with the rest of the 5 star reviews...Excellent! It started with a pleasant phone conversation in which David, (whom I assumed was the owner of the business) was happy to take the time to answer all of my questions regarding the problem with my TV. When I visited his shop I received the same kind and professional service. Don't be fooled by his small shop alongside Sunrise Blvd, he's been in the business along time which was evident by his knowledge and professional demeanor. It's nice to find a small business these days that's not about ripping off the customer for a quick buck, especially when it comes to electronics. I brought my playbar in for repair instead of purchasing a new one. The unit had hardly been used but the optical port was broken. My Vizio 55 in, not quite 4 years old, IR went out. I'd give David a hundred stars if I could. He's that good and HONEST!!! He's earned every one of all those 5 star ratings from his customers. He only repairs what's broken. I have a 10 year old Pioneer Plazma 46" TV that still works beautifully, well it did until I decided to move it. We were installing new wood floors. I disconnected the TV and when I plugged it back in it wouldn't come on. I searched the internet and all the fixes we're way too complicated. Then I remembered David who I saw for a similar problem two years ago and thought I'd give him a call. He remembered me and said "come on down". He adjusted his schedule to accommodate me (very nice of him to do that) and I'm so glad he did. He tested my TV and after a few seconds he found the problem; I inadvertently pushed a "hidden" on/off switch at the bottom of the TV when I moved it. Now why would Pioneer put two on/off switch on the same TV???? My solution was that simple. And he said "no charge", which was the same thing he told me when I brought my other TV in for repair. (There was nothing wrong with it). How honest is that? He could have told me to come back the next day and then charged me accordingly BUT HE DIDN"T! He's that honest. I appreciate not only his expertise but his empathy as well. He's one of those rare businessman who always tries to provide the best customer service to his clients. I was having a power problem with my 46" Samsung television(I was pretty sure it was a bad capacitor). I called Samsung customer service and they referred my to a repair shop that quoted me a very high price ($250 to $350) and told me it would be up to five business days before they could give me a diagnosis. I found CVS(which had great reviews on yelp) and called. A gentleman named David told me to bring it down and if it was just a capacitor, $145. It was ready the next day!!!! Seriously as good as it gets. My 91 year-old mother in law has a fairly late-model Samsung TV. Last week the volume just inexplicably stuck on the highest setting. We couldn't mute it or turn it down. We tried unplugging the TV and plugging it back in but it made no difference. This guy came out to the house, took the TV back to his shop, couldn't find anything wrong, and brought it back. He rehooked-up every connection and the problem went away. He could have pretended he did something at the shop. Honest man. He only charged $50 -- hardly enough to pay him for his trouble. Very nice guy. read more

Took my 2007 LG plasma 60" tv here...believed to need both a power supply and z-board and expected to pay around $300. They ended up just replacing several capacitors rather than replacing both boards. Very honest! And paid less than half of what I expected! Upon drop off the owner was very friendly and helpful. David did an excellent job on an odd repair request. Two capacitors had been knocked loose or completely off of my circuit board. He replaced one capacitor and resoldered the other. My Samsung DLP would not turn kept power cycling. Trying to get off cheap I read the various forums, and tried what was suggested, replacing the bulb, replacing the ballast... After I was sent a wrong part and not wanting to wait another week to get my TV back up I decided to call in the professionals. CVS was able to repair my TV and get it back to me the same day; I was ecstatic!! And, since they replaced to bad components on the board rather than the whole board it really kept the cost down. I called CVS when a Comcast technician told me my TV was broken. David was very helpful even over the phone telling me it was unlikely that both my HDMI and Y ports had all gone bad at once. When I still could not connect to cable I took the TV to the shop on Sunrise. He immediately rolled the TV in for a quick check. It took only a few minutes to determine there was nothing wrong with my TV, the cable guy was wrong. David was awesome and did not charge me anything. Comcast later admitted that through a computer glitch they had turned off the HD reception to my house! If I ever have another problem, I will go back to CVS.
