They are laser-focused on identifying hardware components that are either failing or have failed. They do so by running a component "torture test" to identify which components are affected. I cannot speak to what they do when they find faulty components, because my computer passed their test, despite the fact that it has been freezing up while I am using it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their technicians are arrogant and dismissive when asked about any possible software issues.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Either they don't know anything about software problems, or they don't want to waste their time discussing that kind of problem. One suspects that hardware issues are the low-hanging fruit in the computer repair business. If you want to confirm that your computer problems are NOT hardware-related, this is the place to go. This place is a real hit and miss, it just depends on whether or not you get lucky. For basic repairs I would not recommend, but if you need something specific done they may be a good option. My experience was largely positive. I requested a repair on a game console a while back. It was a 15 minute job, but required some equipment that I do not have. Labor was vastly overpriced (15 minute job, $10 for parts, $90 for labor), but it is understandable. They have to have a price floor, and the repair I needed done was short and specific. Overall, it turned out fine. The device has not had issues since, and none of my data was destroyed. Regardless, I recommend always making a backup of your data before consulting any repair company. 10/10 for my specific instance, but look out. Took my phone in to get the battery replaced, got charged $140, and came away with the rear camera on the phone non-operational. Fun times! And the camera issue was only brought up because I noticed it. The technician didn't check whether it was working or not. Also, their tiny lobby and speed of customer service makes the DMV look like the gold standard of efficiency. I was literally waiting in their lobby for an hour, despite having an appointment (which it turns out doesn't save you any time). A few months ago I was in the DMV for a total of 45 minutes from start to finish to get a new license. I get that people come in with all sorts of issues. But that is just excruciating. Speaking of appointments and service, [[HIGHLIGHT]]uBreakiFix are terrible with notifications. I had to call them several times just to get a battery ordered. And I had to call them to find out if my phone was ready for pickup, despite them telling me they would contact me via my wife's phone (she never received a call).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Appointments are completely meaningless to this company. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The employees there that I interacted with were all very professional and tried their best to help.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So that's a plus. But in most ways it was a horrible experience. If you do have to go here (which is likely because mobile phone repair places are so rare), make sure you allocate yourself at least an hour. They said it was going to be an "all day" repair, but they also said when I dropped it off maybe by 2pm. At 3, still not done. At 6:30, nearing done. Avoid. Took in $4K gaming laptop after it has sparked when plugging in the 2nd power cord. Alienware had them listed as an authorized service. Laptop was working and still charging off of 1 cord. They spent a week to tell us they couldn't replicate the problem. Week later it happens again and screen goes black. We take it back again, they tell us it needs a new port - we wait 2 weeks for the part to come in only for them to then tell us the motherboard is fried and they couldn't fix it. There are 2 possible scenarios - either they didn't bother to open it up when they first told us it was the port and see that the motherboard was fried; or they replaced the port then fried the motherboard. Either way, we wasted a month and they told us they couldn't fix it. All while they collected our new membership fees. The follow up, we spent $40 to ship directly to Alienware/Dell. Within a day they diagnosed the issues, repaired it the next day, and it's already on the way back to us. Save your time and money and don't bother with this shop. read more

To start, this was the absolute worst experience I've had with any electronic service ever. Beginning on day one, (October 15th) I dropped my Galaxy Z Fold 3 off for repair. I am given a 3-4 hour estimate for my screen repair so I decide to kill some time by having lunch nearby. 4 hours go by without any response, so I call and am told that the part they had on hand is defective and they will need to order a new one. Red flag 1: Why was I not called or told about this? Had I not called, when would I have known that I should go home rather than sitting waiting for my repair? Gabriel the manager says the new screen will arrive in 2-3 days. 3 days pass and I call to request an update only for them to tell me the order didn't go through and they now have to make a new ticket and order it again. Red flag 2: Again, notice that I am the one calling and trying to push this process forward. Nobody seems to be making sure the orders are being taken care of. A few more days pass and finally the status of my device has changed to "Quality Inspection" on the ubreakifix repair tracker. According to the site my device is already fully repaired and is undergoing an inspection process before being returned to me. I call and ask how long this usually takes, I am told the device will be ready by the end of the day. The day passes and I call the next afternoon and am told the device will be ready by the end of the day again. 2 days pass and there are still no updates so I call again and am told that they are awaiting a confirmation from Samsung that the repair is finished. I have not had my device for more than a week now. About a week later I call to request an update and am told by multiple managers that they are doing their best to rush a response from Samsung. At this point I have moved to Los Angeles and am no longer able to pick up the device, so I request that it be shipped to me when it's ready. I'm told that an associate will call tomorrow to update me, as before, I received no such call. A few more days pass and I finally receive a call. I am now told that the camera module is fully working but not passing a diagnostic test for some reason, and they cannot release the device unless it passes all of these tests. Their solution is to order a new module and replace it, they say this will take another 2-3 days. Knowing this was a very optimistic estimate on their behalf, I decided to wait 4 days before calling to check in on my device. During my call I am told that the new module did not fix the issue, and that they will re-install all the original parts back onto the device (Which are broken) and then ship it back to me. I agree thinking that I would rather have a broken phone than no phone as I have been without my main phone for almost a month. An entire week passes with no update, and no phone at my door before I finally receive another call from ubreakifix. I am let down once again as they inform me the device for whatever reason was never shipped and has sat for another week at their store. It's now November 17th, and I just received my device in the mail. With phones of this type having 12 month lifespans before either breaking or becoming outdated, I have lost over a month of time with my 2000 dollar phone due to ubreakifix's incompetence. Moral of the story, if you're looking to have a warranty service done here, don't. I recommend politely declining Samsung's request of bringing the device here, and simply shipping it out directly to them to avoid the mess that is ubreakifix. EDIT: Shipped my device to Samsung and they had my device fixed and looking like new in a total of 4 business days. read more

He determined that, due to their status now as a Samsung authorized repair shop, and the fact that my phone had been repaired by them previously, before they were Samsung authorized, they would not be able to work on it. I asked for a recommendation.
