I just stopped in to get a replacement for a cracked IPhone 16 Pro screen protector and possibly a pretty case! I didn't have much luck with a case, they only had 1 clear. On the other hand they did have a nice Tempered Glass Screen Protector which they put on by my request. I suck at it lol! It cost $30 and took about that amount of time, since it took the staff a few tries to get it one on the phone. This place is a real hit and miss, it just depends on whether or not you get lucky. For basic repairs I would not recommend, but if you need something specific done they may be a good option. My experience was largely positive. I requested a repair on a game console a while back. It was a 15 minute job, but required some equipment that I do not have. Labor was vastly overpriced (15 minute job, $10 for parts, $90 for labor), but it is understandable. They have to have a price floor, and the repair I needed done was short and specific. Overall, it turned out fine. The device has not had issues since, and none of my data was destroyed. Regardless, I recommend always making a backup of your data before consulting any repair company. 10/10 for my specific instance, but look out. If you are on a tight budget or do not know how to back up your data, I would perhaps practice extra discernment in your search. read more

Took my phone in to get the battery replaced, got charged $140, and came away with the rear camera on the phone non-operational. Fun times! And the camera issue was only brought up because I noticed it. The technician didn't check whether it was working or not. Also, their tiny lobby and speed of customer service makes the DMV look like the gold standard of efficiency. I was literally waiting in their lobby for an hour, despite having an appointment (which it turns out doesn't save you any time). A few months ago I was in the DMV for a total of 45 minutes from start to finish to get a new license. I get that people come in with all sorts of issues. But that is just excruciating. Speaking of appointments and service, uBreakiFix are terrible with notifications. I had to call them several times just to get a battery ordered. And I had to call them to find out if my phone was ready for pickup, despite them telling me they would contact me via my wife's phone (she never received a call). Appointments are completely meaningless to this company. The employees there that I interacted with were all very professional and tried their best to help. So that's a plus. But in most ways it was a horrible experience. And not the bad one first. In fact, I've gone here before a few times and it's never been positive. But this latest one takes the cake. If you do have to go here (which is likely because mobile phone repair places are so rare), make sure you allocate yourself at least an hour. Well, they are certainly NOT fast. But they are Google certified, so my Pixel was fixed here under warranty. They said it was going to be an "all day" repair, but they also said when I dropped it off maybe by 2pm. At 3, still not done. At 6:30, nearing done. At 6:56, (they close at 7) inside still waiting to even be welcomed in. One employee in the lobby. 5 customers. To be fair, the employee got most of the people out pretty quickly. Myself and the other customer were still waiting. 6:59 - employee still in the back Turns out Google sent the wrong part, so my "one day" repair turned into a MONTH. The guys at this shop did alright, and went to bat with Google for me, but the whole repair was a giant mess. Ended up setting and resetting 3 different phones before they got it right. read more

Wow! I was literally shocked by my experience here. I came in with a broken charge port $160+ they said nahh it just needs cleaned (it wasn't obvious it needs cleaned) So under $50 I got my iPhone cleaned and my charger is once again working. Avoid. Took in $4K gaming laptop after it has sparked when plugging in the 2nd power cord. Alienware had them listed as an authorized service. Laptop was working and still charging off of 1 cord. They spent a week to tell us they couldn't replicate the problem. Week later it happens again and screen goes black. We take it back again, they tell us it needs a new port - we wait 2 weeks for the part to come in only for them to then tell us the motherboard is fried and they couldn't fix it. There are 2 possible scenarios - either they didn't bother to open it up when they first told us it was the port and see that the motherboard was fried; or they replaced the port then fried the motherboard. Either way, we wasted a month and they told us they couldn't fix it. All while they collected our new membership fees. The follow up, we spent $40 to ship directly to Alienware/Dell. Within a day they diagnosed the issues, repaired it the next day, and it's already on the way back to us. Save your time and money and don't bother with this shop. read more

Super disappointed in the service I received. The customer service on the phone was like a 7, helpful, nice. But once I went inside, the level of service was at a zero. First time I went in the guy made me feel really stupid cause I couldn't explain something properly and even tried talking me out of fixing it. Second time I came in there was No rush to help customers when there was a line out the door, im talking like 6 people deep. When I was finally helped, he seemed like he was really tired cause he kept yawning in my face. The level of communication is terrible. I had to ask questions rather than them giving me the basic information needed when someone drops off a product. To start, this was the absolute worst experience I've had with any electronic service ever. Beginning on day one, (October 15th) I dropped my Galaxy Z Fold 3 off for repair. I am given a 3-4 hour estimate for my screen repair so I decide to kill some time by having lunch nearby. 4 hours go by without any response, so I call and am told that the part they had on hand is defective and they will need to order a new one. Red flag 1: Why was I not called or told about this? Had I not called, when would I have known that I should go home rather than sitting waiting for my repair? Gabriel the manager says the new screen will arrive in 2-3 days. 3 days pass and I call to request an update only for them to tell me the order didn't go through and they now have to make a new ticket and order it again. Red flag 2: Again, notice that I am the one calling and trying to push this process forward. Nobody seems to be making sure the orders are being taken care of. A few more days pass and finally the status of my device has changed to "Quality Inspection" on the ubreakifix repair tracker. According to the site my device is already fully repaired and is undergoing an inspection process before being returned to me. I call and ask how long this usually takes, I am told the device will be ready by the end of the day. The day passes and I call the next afternoon and am told the device will be ready by the end of the day again. 2 days pass and there are still no updates so I call again and am told that they are awaiting a confirmation from Samsung that the repair is finished. I have not had my device for more than a week now. About a week later I call to request an update and am told by multiple managers that they are doing their best to rush a response from Samsung. At this point I have moved to Los Angeles and am no longer able to pick up the device, so I request that it be shipped to me when it's ready. I'm told that an associate will call tomorrow to update me, as before, I received no such call. A few more days pass and I finally receive a call. I am now told that the camera module is fully working but not passing a diagnostic test for some reason, and they cannot release the device unless it passes all of these tests. Their solution is to order a new module and replace it, they say this will take another 2-3 days. Knowing this was a very optimistic estimate on their behalf, I decided to wait 4 days before calling to check in on my device. During my call I am told that the new module did not fix the issue, and that they will re-install all the original parts back onto the device (Which are broken) and then ship it back to me. I agree thinking that I would rather have a broken phone than no phone as I have been without my main phone for almost a month. An entire week passes with no update, and no phone at my door before I finally receive another call from ubreakifix. I am let down once again as they inform me the device for whatever reason was never shipped and has sat for another week at their store. It's now November 17th, and I just received my device in the mail. With phones of this type having 12 month lifespans before either breaking or becoming outdated, I have lost over a month of time with my 2000 dollar phone due to ubreakifix's incompetence. Moral of the story, if you're looking to have a warranty service done here, don't. I recommend politely declining Samsung's request of bringing the device here, and simply shipping it out directly to them to avoid the mess that is ubreakifix. EDIT: Shipped my device to Samsung and they had my device fixed and looking like new in a total of 4 business days. read more

They looked at it and said it will be $400 in parts and $100 in labor. I said they are $599 at Best Buy on sale $469.99. They could have given to shits! So after leaving in shock, I called Samsung and got a ticket going. They sent me return label. They called me and said it be $169.00 and look brand new out of the box. It took about 7 days to fix. Yeah, no. After contacting this store by phone to make an appointment I found they are first come first serve. They said they had the screen in stock and the turn around is one to two hours. I imagine it would be longer if many customer were ahead of me. I took a four hour chunk out of my day and took the forty five minute drive to the store. I was checking in with a person at the front desk and asked if they had a narrowed down time estimate. They said three to four hours. Then they went on about the work taking one to two hours but needing to have my phone for an additional one to two hours just in case. A couple of things.. First why no appointments? Works for both side of the customer/business equation right? Let me argue a stores side. "We don't take appointments because people don't show up!" Yeah but what about the customers that do? "it's to hard" Harder than what? A store can make a system for appointments from super easy to stupidly time consuming. Second, train your people. One or two other employees saw me come in and saw me leave. If the norm is three to four hours, shame on the rep that talked with me on the phone. If the norm is one to two hours, shame on the two or three employees for not taking care of my phone. I have Asurion insurance and my deductible is 29.95 and at this point I will pay the full 300.00 for Samsung to swap the phone out. The extra money is not worth another half day lost. My Samsung Galaxy S8+ had a hairline fracture running through the screen. Freak accident: was carrying a sugar geode crystal alongside my phone, and the crystal sliced through the glass horizontally end to end. Happened in March 2020, right before the shelter in place orders hit the Sacramento metropolitan area. The crack wasn't keeping the phone from being operational, but it was definitely making me nervous- I thought at any moment the crack in the glass could spread leaving me quarantined due to COVID19 with no entertainment (not kidding, this phone has been my lifeline). So I took it to UBreak, dropped it off at 11am on a Wednesday, and my screen replacement was done by 4pm same day. Cost was pricey- almost $270 after tax- but it was worth it to me because they're a Samsung authorized repair center so I knew the replacement glass would be perfect. Also, I love this particular model of Galaxy phone, and as it's paid off, I don't want to upgrade (and double my Verizon bill) until I absolutely have to. They're cool people, they do good work, and the shop is clean. Masks required, sanitizer aplenty, 3 customers max in store at any one time. Good sh*t! read more

I went next door to AT&T, to look at new phones, but decided to go ahead and get mine fixed. Back to UbreakIfix. Told him "let's go ahead and fix it". He determined that, due to their status now as a Samsung authorized repair shop, and the fact that my phone had been repaired by them previously, before they were Samsung authorized, they would not be able to work on it. I asked for a recommendation. He told me of a shop a mile and a half up the street, and said "They'll be able to fix it for about $70". ~~~~ Here's the thing: If his price was $275, and he knew I could get it fixed for $70, he should have told me that BEFORE he figured out he was not going to be able to do the work! ~~~ btw, the shop up the street fixed it for $49! read more
