I desperately needed important work information off the phone. I had mistakenly turned off iCloud backup and was looking at hundreds of dollars for a data recovery specialist to give me a text file so I could manually reenter all the lost info. For just a $25 diagnosis charge they were able to get the phone turned on and then perform a backup. If you're out of warranty on your device, these guys are awesome! I can't recommend them enough and will go here again before hassling with Apple and their "approved repairs" that don't work and cost multiple times what I payed here.

I had my iPhone 17 screen repaired at this store, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely…read moredisappointing. The replacement screen was clearly low quality from the beginning. The colors were noticeably distorted, and visible lines were constantly present on the display. After just two months, the screen began flickering. By the three-month mark, the flickering had become increasingly frequent, and the screen eventually went completely black. A replacement screen should last considerably longer than three months. Based on my experience, the store appears to use inexpensive, low-quality replacement parts that do not hold up. I would not recommend this business to anyone looking to have their phone repaired. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration and take your device somewhere else.

For basic…read morerepairs I would not recommend, but if you need something specific done they may be a good option. My experience was largely positive. I requested a repair on a game console a while back. It was a 15 minute job, but required some equipment that I do not have. Labor was vastly overpriced (15 minute job, $10 for parts, $90 for labor), but it is understandable. They have to have a price floor, and the repair I needed done was short and specific. Overall, it turned out fine. The device has not had issues since, and none of my data was destroyed. Regardless, I recommend always making a backup of your data before consulting any repair company. 10/10 for my specific instance, but look out. If you are on a tight budget or do not know how to back up your data, I would perhaps practice extra discernment in your search.

I took my phone in because my phone wasn't charging, either by cable or wirelessly. They took my…read more$50 diagnostic fee and asked for two hours to investigate - I gave them four. When I returned, they said it might be the battery ($83 repair and they'd have to order it and could have it back in 7-10 days), but said it might be something to do with the screen assembly (or something like that), and that would be $178 and they had that in stock. I said fine, just get it working, as I had a surgery scheduled and needed a way to communicate with my support team. I gave them more time, and their assessment was that it wasn't that either - they said my phone showed no signs of life and I'd need to buy a new phone. But they didn't charge me the $178 after testing it to see if it would work. So, I went to Best Buy and chatted with GeekSquad for a second opinion - they told me UbreakIfix was now a mainstream repair shop, doing mainly warranty work for the major carriers, and anything beyond simple repairs wasn't their thing...and that I'd probably be able to get it fixed at a "mom&pop" shop. GeekSquad said they couldn't work on a phone as old as mine (5 years), and recommended a shop in Folsom that their customers had success with. I bought a new phone for $750 since I was already there, and was willing to risk forfeiting a $45 re-stocking fee to return it if I managed to get my phone working. I didn't go to the shop recommended by GeekSquad, but found Salmaan Phone Repair in Rocklin and he had my phone working in less than 10 minutes (I'll write a review for him, too). The issue was a bad FPC (Flexible Printed Circuit) cable - the cable that connects the charging port to the daughterboard. 2 stars for not being able to diagnose a basic power issue -1 star for telling me my phone would never work again +1 star for positive experience with the uBiF person that followed up with me when I complained about their non-refundable diagnostic fee when the diagnosis was 100% incorrect.

When I received my phone back, it turned on for about one second and then stopped working completely. I went home, charged it, and tried everything I could, but it would not turn back on. This was especially stressful because I was leaving the next day to fly home by myself, and I was several hours away from home. I ultimately had to get the phone looked at and repaired somewhere else. I was told there was an issue with the phone that was causing it to immediately overheat, which explained why it would not stay on. When I returned to this shop a week later to ask for my money back, the interaction was extremely uncomfortable. I was berated, and I was told I needed to delete my original review in order to receive my money back. I ultimately deleted the review and received some of my money back. I'm sharing this because I think customers should know about my experience before choosing this shop. I understand that repairs can sometimes be complicated and things can go wrong, but I expected the situation to be handled professionally and respectfully.
