I would give zero stars if I could. Video tech is contracted with LG. John came out to fix my 75 inch OLED. He expected that I would remove and remount my large TV. Then left without reattaching cables. I have never seen such awful service. I will discuss this further with LG and will never use this servicer again. read more

They came to my house and a man named John was there to help. They were supposed to be there from 1 - 4 PM, and they were almost done but it was around 3:30. He came at around 3 and I told him I had to pick up my child. I did them a favor and allowed him to come on Tuesday instead of Wednesday, but I had to pick up my child and he waited about 15 minutes. He gets mad and he says he has to leave to his next appointment but its not even 4 yet. I tell him he needs to put the T.V. back and place and he finally listens. But he doesnt connect the T.V. back so I had to do it myself. He didnt even make sure the T.V. had worked again. The service is horrible and I called the office and they dont believe what I had told them about him not doing anything. I definitely dont suggest this horrible place. read more

I am very happy with my Panasonic P42G25. They put in the correct panel (my last guy put in some garbage thing that looked horrible) and now all my colors are gorgeous again, and dark subjects can be distinguished in front of dark backgrounds again. Thank you Video Tech Service! It was explained to me that the little red dots that I found that dance around on a paused movie frame at the bright spot surrounded by darkness is simply an anomaly, akin to to the imperfections in picture caused by CODEC decompression (even though I know about that), or the stair-step effect of a gradient displayed due to limitations in the color bit-depth (which I was also aware of). That's good to know...I was worried that somewhere in there was perhaps a wire or some other weak link in the chain that may, over time, cause the new panel and board to fail prematurely. It's comforting to know that all those little dancing red dots within that paused, Blu-ray image are just a natural occurrence and nothing to be concerned about, and that I basically got a new TV set. It was in for a month and a week, but after having heard nothing for two weeks, I had gone in to put it in THX mode for them, where the problem was most apparent, so that they can identify the problem outside the photos I showed them when I took it in so that they could get the ball rolling. Two weeks later I called back to discover they were waiting on the guy to come in with the correct panel. So sarcasm aside, I really am pleased with them having put in the correct panel. The panel that A.J. from Bar Jo, where I had taken it previously here in Roseville, put in what as I was told was "subbed out" for another panel. I mean damn! I bought the TV for its particular panel and when I picked it up from that warranty service my jaw dropped at the horrible picture - not only was it bad, but it was damaged, it just took a keen eye to see it, and that shop wouldn't make it right and he was rude like he knew what he did, so I filed a BBB complaint against him. Though I keep questioning it, I feel it was justified, every time. It's a completely different shop that did that, so don't confuse it with the shop I'm reviewing here. Service was slower her than I expected. I wish Video Tech would have called me after one day, one week or even two to tell me "no problems so far." It really did make this already painful ownership experience more stressful to discover that they felt I was seeing things instead of calling me to ask, "now just what was it you said this thing was doing?" I assumed that was what I get for turning in a fellow technician from another shop, like it was some sworn thing among repair people or something. Hopefully not, though. Throughout all of my inquiries, I was told before hanging up that I "...can come in and make sure it's up to my standards before taking it home." When I came to pick it up, I was given the paper to sign, which I did figuring all is well (which for the most part it is). It was still plugged in so I put it through the paces, and although the TV was fixed (meaning I got a G42 panel like it was supposed to have in the first place) I still found red dots to persist, though they were WAY harder to discover and there are FAR fewer of them; I have yet to come across them without making a deliberate attempt to do so (it takes a very bright, small spot on a fully dark screen). I still worry that whatever is causing those little red dots to occasionally sizzle in the THX menu and on the brights may be a sign of something bad in there, but I'll settle. It's "like I got a new TV" with the new panel and "A" board, which I am not arguing - the picture's gorgeous now - I'm just hoping there isn't that one weak link in there. The other dude doesn't need to mutter a "psh" as he passes by to go out for his cigarette either as he overhears me voicing my concern to the tech I was speaking to - I have the right to be concerned. It's like I feel like I'm the customer from hell, and that I'm just too picky or something. Congratulations though, as that got me to give up. Perhaps I am the customer from hell; it is not my intention. I am pleased with the service and the TV looks remarkable! I finally love it again. I just worry about those little red dots. It's not like I'm unreasonably complaining that my 720p broadcast isn't coming in at 1080p. I'm not that consumer that thinks there's something wrong because there's black bars on the top or the sides of the picture. I know what things should look like. Normal compression artifacts are nowhere in the league of abnormal little red static-like dots dancing around on a paused image. I could ramble all day, so I'll stop. I am happy with the service. I just don't understand what is with the world nowadays. Why must people pee on my leg and tell me it's raining? Thank you for fixing my TV. read more

After two bad experiences with this place I hoped to never need their services again, but as luck would have it I had a new TV delivered to CA from NJ and the analog video inputs on it didn't work. As it was too big and came too far to simply take over and exchange, I had to get it repaired- the company first sent one of their own techs out to replace the main board but that turned out to be faulty. They then said I'd have to try Video Tech Service as they would at least be more likely to get a board that worked. Video Tech came and replaced my main board and amazingly it's working fine now! I still seemed to know more about this TV than their tech guy did, but at least my TV is now working the way it should and that's all I can ask for at this point. read more

I NEVER leave reviews but this time I will be. I needed to get my LG 77" panel replaced so they chose these guys to come out and look at the Television. The woman I spoke to on the phone was nice and kind, however, I didn't get the same experience from the technician, John. From the gate, he was disgruntled because I asked him could he wear a mask. (which he ended up doing) but after he was clearly irritated and wanted to leave. He assured me that he was vaccinated which I AM TOO. I showed him the issue on my television and he gave it a quick glance and a test pattern and insisted that LG wouldn't service the tv and that he see's nothing wrong. I've owned MANY OLEDS so I'm WELL aware of the issues that come with OLED televisions and my TV has vertical banding issue.. I sincerely feel like he just didn't want to come back because he would've been uncomfortable putting on another mask. Very unprofessional and extremely un America. First I purchased a TV from RC Willie 15mo ago it took a dive. I purchased an extended warranty that stuck me with with Video Tech. I explained my TV was on a Wall, I let them know TV would not turn on. He gets to my home asks if Im going to help him get the TV off the wall says TV wont turn on you need a mother board so when the part gets in I will let you know. I explain we are having a veterans Thanksgiving and I am disabled this our only TV and there will be guests expecting to see a football game. He replies I will see what I can do. Well neither RC Willie or Video Tech came through and I had to go by another TV. How sad in America people don't care about others or helping them a TV might not mean so much but when you are disabled unable to leave your home without a struggle TV is the only distraction. Wheres your human kindness wheres you going the extra mile and it would be nice if you would answer your phone if I could give less then one star I would. read more

We have had our Sony 60" TV since 2004 and purchased a warranty on it through Sears. Sears is not known for their customer service and this is no exception. However, Sears did one thing right, they subcontracted with Video Tech Service (lucky for us). Lisa went above and beyond by reaching out to Sears numerous times explaining the part was back ordered with no ETA. Because of her, we were approved for a brand new TV. In this day and age where customer service is almost nonexistent I'm thrilled to share that is not the case with Video Tech Service. Why would someone go above and beyond when they are not getting anything out of it? I believe it is because they have integrity and because it was the right thing to do. I bought my panasonic 58 in tv 18 months ago. of course my warantee was for 12 months so when it broke down I knew I was probably in for an expensive repair. After talking to Panasonic they informed me there was 1 authorized servicer in Sacramento (Video Tech Service). I assumed that the repair bill would be half as much as the tv oringinally cost. They offered me 2 options, they will come out and inspect for a fee or I could take tv to them. I chose to take my tv to them as it was much cheaper. They had a quote for me in less than 24 hours and it was very reasonable. They explained that they would have to order the part and it could take 5-7 business days. They called me after only 3 days to tell me tha tv was ready. They even opened on Sat so I could pick it up. Great, Friendly service and reasonable prices. I would definately recommend Video Tech to anyone having problems with their flat screen tv. Thanks Jim read more

Very unhappy with Video Tech Services. My Panasonic Plasma TV stopped working. Called Video Tech Services with model number and symptoms. I told them from what I could tell it was almost certainly a bad Power Supply and asked what it might cost to repair. They said they could not give a formal estimate over the phone but that the repair would likely be between $300 and $350. They needed to send someone out to do a "diagnostic test" on the unit before they could be sure though. Based upon their statement that it would likely be in that range, I had them come out for a diagnostic test. I told them I was heading out of town, but that my wife could be home to meet the tech. Well the tech came and said that he couldn't take the tv off the wall (not mentioned previously - - and very simple to do) but that, given the symptoms that I'd described over the phone (i.e., it wouldn't turn on at all and had no lights), it was almost certainly a bad Power Supply and that, in addition to the $95 "diagnostic" charge, it would be $600 to fix. Of course, since they hadn't actually done a diagnostic, he said it could be more since that might not be the problem. So with no new information and no actual diagnostic test, the likely amount of the repair more than doubled! If they had the decency to look up the cost of a power supply for the model (which I provided) before coming out, I wouldn't have had them come out. And their "diagnostic" trip added nothing. (Other than a $95 service charge to literally do nothing.) I was able to find a used Power Supply on ebay for $52 and, despite not being very handy, fixed the TV myself, which is what I would have tried if they hadn't mis-quoted me a likely range of $400 less than they ultimately estimated. Suffice it to say, I feel as though they engaged in bait and switch activity here. I don't begrudge them having a service fee charge, but I NEVER would have had them come out if I had been told the repair would be in the range of $700. Again, since they didn't do anything when they came out, I feel as though they completely mislead me. When I called to complain, all I got was double talk. While acknowledging that she told me the likely range of the repair, she insisted that was not an "estimate." Whatever one calls it, it was a misleading statement and bad practices -- I had correctly diagnosed the problem, given her the model, and she gave me a repair cost range that was grossly understated. read more

I was referred to video tech from LG to replace a panel on my tv under warranty. John (the tech) has always been on time and very nice. He was very quick with switching the panels at my home (too bad none of them worked!) We have been through 4 panels for my tv, which was a nightmare because we have been dealing with faulty panels for almost 4 months (LG's fault for sending bent or broken panels) Lisa from video tech has been so pleasant to speak to on the phone! She is the best and did all the work when dealing with LG. She tracked down my original receipt from the main fry's office and called the right people to be able to get my tv returned for a new one. She saved me from 10 headaches for dealing with LG for me. read more

John and Lisa were great! I had an issue with my LG 49" tv that was still under warranty, they handled everything with LG and were very flexible and able to work around my crazy schedule. The TV had to be picked up to be fixed, but that wasn't their fault and they came out to my place to do it. I had the tv back in two days. From what I understand they can fix TVs right there in your house sometimes. I'd highly recommend them again. read more

I bought an LG 34UM95 (21x9 aspect) monitor that ended up having a faulty panel. LG provided Video Tech as an authorized LG dealer and so I reached out to them. From the very beginning, Lisa (office mgr.) was very helpful and easy to work with. She scheduled a technician (John) to come out and repair the monitor. John arrived as scheduled and was very easy to work with. He replaced my monitor panel and I was very satisfied with the repair. Unfortunately, LG sent a monitor that had issues (dead pixels) once we got it powered up. I don't attribute this issue to Video Tech but to LG. To make a long story short, Video Tech replaced the monitor one more time before I ended up returning it to LG under their faulty returns program. But back to my experience with Video Tech, I have nothing bad to say. They were helpful, easy to work with, and performed the work as expected without any problems. "It's not legal for me to let it dangle it by the wire, but you can." 20 minutes of work to open back panels, for $300, and left a mess for me to assemble. Had sean from video tech service come out and fix my Samsung plasma tv, my tv had black screen and no sound its not an old tv so i wanted to see if worth fixing. I was referred to video tech service by rc willey , the girl on the phone was very nice explained how there was a service call to come out of $95 and that they were not able to give estimate over phone i told her i understand that, i didn't expect that they could diagnose over phone but she did say the tech would come out and do a diagnostic on tv and give estimate i scheduled appointment for next business day 8-12 time frame, sean called me before coming out, when he looked at tv he said looked like my main board was defective he gave me an estimate of $485 which is better then buying a new tv. Video tech called me 2 days later to say part was in and wanted to schedule a revisit i was shocked how quick the part came in and rescheduled visit , sean came back fixed tv and it looks better then when i bought it.
