Luby's is better if you can believe it!!! Everything on my plate came out of a can or it was frozen, minus the scrambled eggs. I got the chicken fried chicken with gravy, potatoes and eggs. Tyson breaded chicken patties tastes better. A frozen fried patty with canned white gravy on top, canned potatoes with salt and pepper sprinkled on them and eggs for $25. Another person in my party got the fried catfish, Cajun rice and string beans. She said that the catfish was fried to perfection but the Cajun rice tasted like rice-A-Roni and the string beans were out of a can. I definitely won't be back. read more

omg! when i say this food was AMAZINGGGGGG, 10/10 ! i got the chicken and waffles and omg the chicken was seasoned the waffle was perfect with crust edges, the shrimp devil eggs was amazing again shrimp SEASOND too perfection the chef needs a raise!!!! my boyfriend got the catfish shrimp and grits and omgggg no sugar needed on the grits, fish was fried and perfect golden color. I ordered the Cutten Breakfast (3 eggs, bacon, sausage, and a pancake) with a side of hash browns and grits. Eggs were moist, hash browns slightly overcooked, bacon crispy, and the sausage met expectations. The pancake was a bit burnt and dense but still enjoyable. My husband had oatmeal, a biscuit sandwich, and fries. The fries were delicious, but the oatmeal seemed pricey at $6 for a small cup. Pleasantly surprised by this place. It's not what it seems. I heard positive things from the next door app and thought we should try it out. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was slow. They have a beautiful modern cozy decor. They have plush leather seating booths and chairs. The food was delicious. I ordered their specialty chicken sandwich with fries and it was very tasty. You order at the bar and they bring you your food. This has positives(you order your food and it comes out quick) and negatives (no one is really coming by frequently to check if you need anything). Nice addition to the Willowbrook area. Had a burger and fries - burger was very large on tasty bun with two slices of cheese, tomato, onion and lettuce. It was tasty although the meat could have been seasoned more. Fries were excellent and I could only finish half of them. Nice atmosphere. Fairly quiet at lunch during the week. My husband and I stopped here for lunch after wanting to try it forever. We were promptly greeted and sat. There were only about 3 other tables being occupied. The hostess brought over the complimentary corn bread and our waiter wasn't far behind. I can't remember his name but he was pretty awesome. I got the lamb chops lunch special with a blueberry lemon drop and my husband got a shrimp po'boy and a bayou berry smash. We split the crawfish egg rolls. The egg rolls were hot and so good. We loved both sauces that they came with. My husband liked his po'boy and fries and really enjoyed his drink. The Mac and cheese and green beans that came with my lamb chops were a little cold for my liking. They were room temp and I like my food hot. The taste of the green beens were good and the Mac and cheese was ok. I asked for the lamb chops to be cooked medium and they were cooked to perfection. The jerk sauce was delicious and complemented them very well. It is spicy but I love spicy foods. My lemon drop was also very good. The restaurant was quiet when we went but the setup is very nice. I came with high hopes and expectations. I left disappointed. When we arrived we were not greeted and hand a to wait a few minutes before a hostess finally appeared. Once seated, the table top was dirty and we asked for it to be cleaned. Our waitress wiped it down with a smelly dish towel and we had to dry it with some paper towels. The food came out and I immediately noticed a fishy smell. My proceeded to ask me to smell the jerk lamb chop and it reeked of a fishy odor. I knew something was wrong. The meat had gone bad. I failed to mention from the onset when the platter arrived we told our waitress we only had 3 chicken tenders and it was supposed to come with 4. She pretended like she was going to check and she never came back. So, I never received a refill. When we closed out our tab l, in hopes that no one else would receive the tainted lamb chops, we shared our experience. I don't think the waitress shared that with anyone either. I hope we do not end up with food poisoning or anyone else for that matter. Oh and if you're not into a bunch of booty shaking and breasts exposure, do not come here. A GHETTO MESS! If I could rate this place a zero, I would! We paid using a a $125 Visa debit card on March 9, 2025, and Cedric, our waiter, brung us a receipt for $99.60. We left a $10 tip although service was not up to par, and wrote $109.60 as the total. Cedric charged us the entire $125, stealing from us and taking advantage of the fact we paid with a prepaid card! We tipped our waiter because that is our standard whenever we eat somewhere, especially since the total was almost $100. We would have tipped more had our experience been better. Good thing we didn't. CUSTOMER SERVICE: The hostess (girl with long dreads) was rude and I overheard her refusing to accommodate other guests, even cursing while referring to a guest at the bar who wanted a seating accommodation. There should be a personality requirement before hiring employees! However, the woman who brought out our food was very personable and accommodating. Unfortunately, I did not get her name. As far as eating, we had to eat using PLASTIC UTENSILS because the restaurant didn't have any clean silverware! I even had to get up and grab my own drink from the soda fountain because the waiter was nowhere to be found! FOOD: The food was okay for the most part however, the mashed potatoes were nasty, had no salt or pepper, and was sticky. The crab cakes tasted like it had mustard in it. The catfish, chicken nuggets, and shrimp were acceptable. Otherwise, the overall meal was okay. FINAL THOUGHTS: Go elsewhere! This place really rubbed me the wrong. I will never return to this place. I used to really like this place but I went today and they changed so much. You can't grab your own drink anymore and refill it. A server has to do it for you. I don't think you can order from the counter, since when I walked in I was sent to a table. They changed the menu, a chicken sandwich with fries costs $20 now instead of $13. They removed multiple items and raised the prices, while also making you rely on servers more. Apparently all these changes were to "improve" but honestly it was fine and amazing before. The host and manager did not seat our party until 3 pm. It was over an hour wait. The cornbread was served without plates just utiles on the table. After receiving the order items was only warm instead of being food hot as received. I will not be patronizing this restaurant again in near further.
