"Yes, we can help, bring it right down." The folks here are knowledgeable and were able to give me a quick analysis of the suspected problem. Within a day they had the new part ordered and estimated a two-week turnaround. Imagine my delight when they called today and told me it was ready, one week sooner than estimated. Thank you Custom Computers! These folks met all my expectations when I went seeking a custom built desktop. My previous "friend-built" desktop lasted 9 years and I really wanted custom storage, speed and as simple/clean as possible. And if I'm lucky, the same durability. And they built me just that! The machine is so fast! The build was ~3-4 days (had to wait for internal hard drives to arrive). AND they have gone out of their way twice already to support the product. NOT going to get this kind of attention from any GEEK Squad! 1. Got a super duper graphics card, and when I got it home, I failed to plug the HDMI cable into it, and mistakenly plugged it into the motherboard HDMI port (which doesn't work if you have a graphics card inserted - who knew) and it would not boot. Had a full weekend of work ahead of me and really needed attention before Monday and John (owner) was on call and met me at store and he figured out the dumb mistake I made. No charge, fist bumped me, and thanked me for my business. Such class. 2. Phone call to Nick asking him if the build prohibited somehow using a bluetooth dongle in a USB port for wireless headphones - spent an hour trying to figure out why "Insignia" would not provide a driver for the darn thing and Windows 10 had no driver to install. He patiently talked to me about the piece of junk peripheral that had nothing to do with their build. And it gave me the confidence to spend another hour on Google finding an ASUS driver to get it to work. Friendly computer advice like that is so helpful. Kudos Bob read more

My laptop suddenly wouldn't connect to any secured WiFi network that I normally use, including my home network. Based on Yelp reviews, I called Eric's Computers - minimum 3 day wait. Uh, no. R-Computer is less than a mile from work, so I stopped in. First technician said my laptop immediately connected with their unsecured WiFi... sent me home to reset my cable modem and update the firmware in my router - even though I told him that I had already tried that. The following Monday, a different technician said it must be a bad network interface card - no other explanation, he said. Wasted my money on a new card... not the problem. At least I wasn't charged for the "advice". I dropped my computer off at Custom Computers - had my computer back to me in three hours. Apparently, Windows' and Lenovo's wireless network managers weren't playing nicely. Very reasonable charge for finding an obscure problem. I've recently moved back to the Bay Area and, even though they are out of the way for me, Custom Computers is now my "go to" support store. Highly recommended! read more

A few months ago I dealt with this company to have a part on my computer replaced. They told me repeatedly that it would be ready on certain days, but it took days longer than they estimated. They promised to call me back several times, but never did. I was the one who initiated the calls almost every time. They replaced the part. It worked for awhile, but over the past month or so the computer sounds like a power tool or lawn mower starting up. it makes a loud noise continuously, and now I have to pay twice to get it repaired once more, 4 months later. My wife took her laptop here to fix for $150. We brought it back home to use a few times and now it doesn't work again. I bring it back after we have finally time to see what the problem is and now they want to charge $50 just to check what the problem is. Plus "possibly" charge $250 if it's a hardware problem or $150 if it's a software problem. Practically wanting us to pay the same price of what they "supposively" fixed. Plus workers need to learn to smile and actually say hi back. read more

I was really impressed by the customer service at this place. In addition to doing a great job fixing my laptop, they went way above and beyond the minimum service that I paid for. I told them I was going overseas in a week and needed my laptop back as soon as possible. I got a call from them the next day to inform me that my laptop was ready to be picked up. When I dropped my laptop off, the outside cover had tape residue all over it, when I picked it up I noticed that they had cleaned it off. I had a virus and also needed some updates, and I needed the work done within a short amount of time. I received my laptop back earlier than I expected, and the employees worked with me to get the job done exactly as I asked. I dropped my laptop and the screen was only grey. I had no idea where to go. I searched online and about.com had a "where to get computers fixed in..." section. Custom Computers was recommended. So, I went with that. I am glad I did! They were very professional, friendly, explained things, and timely. They phoned me daily (they had to keep the computer several days) to update me on what they were doing. They found my data (I was worried I would lose my photos, which I had not backed up), and even installed some extras, like a virus protection. I went there with my pc at first my problem was thought to very tribial. since i didnt know what was going on they could just told me i need a new something or other and charged me. they fixed for free and then when i took my compture home. I broke on of the connecting wire to the hard drive. I took it back and ask for them to sell me another one. they just gave it to me !
