My girlfriend and I came to just have a quick meal, we ordered a mini Reeces and a mini Cookie dough concrete mixer. First of all, when our food came, via Amy, it wasn't there. Sure maybe her hands were full and she couldn't carry them. I have no problem with that. No, she did not read the order correctly and did not bring our mixers. I ask for our mixers and she says "i didn't see them". Okay? Can you get them please? She brings us two Ice Cream of the Days. We ask for the correct mixers instead of the wrong ones, and she gives us more attitude. Finally, we show her the receipt, and shrugs us off and makes my girlfriends mixer. One of my fave burger stops. This location is far superior to my local Belleville one so we always make the trek for our burgers. The double butter burger basket with fries is my standard order here. The burger is always juicy and cheesy perfection, fries are hot and crisp. My husband upgrades his side for a dollar to cheese curds, he loves these fried bits of cheese dipped in optional ranch sauce (they also offer marinara). Shockingly the soups here are really good, you can upgrade a basket with a side of soup for a dollar too. The split pea, chicken gumbo, chicken tortilla and cabbage all are tasty. The dinners have been good. I tried both the fried walleye and fish and chips and found them satisfying. The fried chicken is really nice too. Perfect for kids, the kids meals come with a coupon you redeem for a one scoop sundae at the end of their meal. My nieces and nephew beg to come here. On the flip side my retired parents really like it too. The custard is yummy, I usually don't have room for it after my burger basket but have come on seperate trips to just eat custard. I love their rotating flavors of the day in a waffle cone. My husband likes their banana splits a lot. If you are looking for a bit of a step up from basic fast food give Culver's a shot. Every time I make a trip to Michigan I end up coming to this Culver's. We don't have any in the San Diego area so whenever I'm in another city that has them I make sure I stop by. Was one of my favorite places to go. Not after tonight. My stomach is a little upset, so I check out the online menu to see what kind of soups and alernatives to meat burgers they offer. Boston clam chowder and broccoli and cheese soup (used to get from Panera bread until those assholes started demanding credit card information for a cheap online order). My wife drives all the way to the location on Newburgh in Westland 'sorry, we are out of that' (the 2 soups that were/are listed on their menu). I knew I should have told my wife to call me if this kind of horse shit happened, but I thought 'this is Culvers. They are reliable'. So they offer her some half assed potato chunks with oversalted bacon bits and this stale, watered down chicken noodle soup as these half assed alternatives. There is no soup or broth to the cup of salt with what tastes like regurgitated chunks of potato and salted pork, and I don't eat pork to begin with. I came on Friday. A girl with a pony tail and heavy eyeliner was very aggressive and rude while taking my order and I hadn't even asked for much and was very clear about my order. She gave me a double instead of a single when I emphasized it twice!!! They also didn't give me two of the three different sauces I ordered in my $35 order. I called and talked with the manager, Mr. Bell. Rude. No apology. I am devastated to report that my first experience with Culvers occurred last November as I drove up north for a few days. I was hungry. More than hungry. I was dizzy. I hopped off the e-way and headed for a Sonic... dreaming of greasy horribleness... only to find that Sonic was shuttered. After weeping into my steering wheel for what seemed like hours, I wiped away my tears to see a Culvers across the street, a shimmering mirage that offered me... maybe nothing. I didn't know what to expect. I didn't really give a damn. Sonic was what I wanted, and now I had to settle. I ordered a butter burger, thinking it might be ok. The reality is, it changed my life forever. FOREVER! The meat is so juicy, and the cooking method forms this beautiful, tasty crust on the burger. Everything I have ever tried here is a winner, and the people are nice. Is Culvers really five stars? For a quick meal, it easily earns that. Turns out, the burgers aren't made in butter or with butter or any of that nasty stuff. It's the buns that are buttered. Why, then, are they called "butter BURGERS"? Because until I learned that it was the buns that were buttered, I felt like a 500-pound fatty just hearing the name "butterburger". I still do, really. I feel fatter thinking about eating one, and even fatter when I actually do eat one. So the name... not a way to win me over to eating it. Regardless, they do taste good. I had the mushroom Swiss, and it was pretty tasty. I haven't tried the chicken or any type of drinks here, but I might go for it next time. The fries, though. I was very unimpressed. I placed an order, paid for it, then received a numbered sticker on the window. I parked and waited, and was brought the wrong order. The staff member told me it had been happening all day and they would fix it. I was then brought the wrong order once again, so they took my correct order and said they would bring it. I was then accused of trying to bypass the line and steal food. I went inside to speak to manager Ian, who then continued to accuse me of trying to steal food, despite the fact that I had a sticker on my window: how do you get that if you haven't paid? There are also cameras that show you've paid, but they wouldn't check it. So I proved that I had paid by showing my credit card statement, and I was then STILL accused of trying to bypass the line and steal, and they refused to make my order. The manager and entire staff was incredibly rude. I come here every week and have never been talked to or treated like this. I will not be coming back. read more

Never disappointed when coming here. We normally come for the frozen custard. It's is better than other ice cream shoppes in the area. They also have burgers, salads, fries and they are also famous for the cheese curds. They always have a flavor of the day. Today was strawberry cheesecake. The place was clean & people were friendly. This is the spot for a sweet craving. I got the flavor of the day in a concrete mixer-which is basically a thick milk shake-with whip cream on top. In general I am a fan of the Culver's chain. I think their fast food is better than most. I'm giving them lower stars however because they like to take one of my favorite items off the menu all the time, the tuna melt. Apparently it is a "seasonal" item. If anyone from Culvers reads this please keep it on year round (and add a veggie burger while you are at it!) I love their fries and the frozen custard. We have even had their custard cake and that was good too. Drive-thru takes a few minutes longer than a normal one because they are making your food. If you eat inside they will give you a number and bring your food out to you. It is always clean and the staff is very nice when I have eaten here. read more

We went though the drive in window and got a Single, a Double and a Triple with a large order of Fries and it was quite a tasty and filling treat. Good quality, Friendly service and hot crispy Fries. You can't go wrong. My only critical comment would be the amount of different sandwich selections and the details are a little hard to take in, not to mention a tad confusing, at the drive up speaker area. Being vegetarian, I was very skeptical about the menu, thinking I'd have nothing to eat. I was pleasantly surprised! They had a veggie burger on the menu! I tried it and it was very tasty. Finally tried this place. Had a bacon butter burger, fries and chocolate shake. Enjoyed it all! Could tasted the beef of the burger, which you can't say about very many fast food establishments these days. Nice balance between the toppings, bun and meat. The fries were crispy, but not greasy.
