Huge scoop sizes! Pretty good quality with unique flavor options. It's a vibe in the summer
We have been here several times when in Ann Arbor bc the ice cream is so good! Very creamy high quality and such unique flavors. My husband's fave is the basil with a lemon syrup on top! Today my daughter got chocolate brownie and it was delicious! Sometimes a line out the door but luckily not today even tho they were plenty busy. There are tons of plastic (so easy to wash down) round and square picnic tables with umbrellas for shade. Highly recommend!
Going here is the best in the summertime. Ice cream is super sweet. There's usually always a line out the door but they work pretty fast. Lots of outdoor seating
We went to blank slate for an after dinner sweet treat. Was able to get a couple samples; great portion to taste the flavors. I got two scoops, one of blueberry pancake and one of cereal honeycomb. I've also loved other flavors I've tried here for the stuff your Stanley event in the winter. Service is very friendly and helpful, and we loved sitting outside at the picnic tables to watch our ice cream. Also love that even though there isn't a lot of parking out front, there's a close parking garage.
Great ice cream shop with original flavors. Service was fast. There's a few indoor and outdoor seats, but parking space is pretty limited. - Cranberry cream: 10/10 (my fav out of the flavors we got! Loved the tartness from the cranberry) - Basil: 9/10 (creamy basil flavor. Kinda wished it was in the form of a sherbet though) - Lavender lemon honey: 9/10 (interesting ice cream that's a tad on the sweeter side. The lavender is good, but it could taste a bit perfumey) - Brown butter cookie dough: 10/10 (yummy cookie dough ice cream with strong brown butter flavor!)
I loved the smell my nose caught as i entered this place. I tasted couple varitey like lavendar honey, vienamese cinnamon and silk... But ended up taking my usual chocolate based flavours like brownie fudge n cookie cream. Overall nice place... there r some inside sittings as well. Server was fundoo too.
So good! Very few ice cream places have wowed me with their flavors. Being in a college town the workers are always very pleasant and talkative! The place is very well maintained with indoor and outdoor seating . I've never had a bad experience here.
If you're in Ann Arbor, and you want ice cream, there is every reason to go to Blank Slate! It's even got a little parking lot to park your car in (with 5 spots and more street parking around it). I love that their ice cream is creamy and smooth, and they've got a variety of unique flavors that aren't your typical run of the mill. We especially loved their carrot cake and Monster cookie jar this time around. I got their cherry crisp in a waffle cone which they make fresh and you can smell from outside. Their cherry crisp has fresh cherry jam in it for cherry enthusiasts. The staff is quick and very cordial despite hoe busy it can get. It's almost always packed when I come here but in an endearing way: it's clearly a city favorite. They've got this fun concept where you can doodle on their chalkboard walls with chalk too!
Blank Slate always hits - my favorite ice cream place in Ann Arbor. I got a split scoop of the Couch Potato (chocolate with dark chocolate covered potato chips m) and chocolate covered strawberry in a waffle cone. It was good and I was craving chocolate so it hit but a lot of ice cream, so I ended up not finishing it.
We came on a Sunday afternoon and thankfully didn't have too long of a line. I was able to sample some flavors and that was helpful for deciding what to order! I went with the S'mores flavor and it was delicious! Got it in a cup (less of a mess). We ate outside in the nice weather.
On our way to Ann Arbor my hubby tells me that Blank Slate is one of the best ice cream shops in the country. He just read it in an article. Since we were going to be there anyway, we stopped by to try it out. I sampled some of their flavors and they were all very good. I settled on the one scoop $5.50 split for $0.75 more. I got the balsamic strawberry and lavender lemon honey. They were both yummy, but the lavender lemon honey hit the spot. The hubby got two scoops $7.25 of the Vietnamese cinnamon. His friend got two scoops of the chocolate fudge brownie. They serve their ice cream in a waffle cone that's made in house or in a paper cup. It was hard to find parking. They have five spaces in front of the shop. We drove around the block and luckily somebody left and we took that space. They were busy. The lines were long, but it went down fast. The workers are efficient.
absolutely love this ice cream place in downtown Ann Arbor! The service was incredibly quick considering how popular this location is and staff were very friendly. The ice cream flavors are so unique and perfectly curated here. I ordered the lemon lavender ice cream with the waffle cone and it was amazing! Definitely not a place to miss when visiting Ann Arbor.
An Ann Arbor institution! My favorite things about Blank Slate include: - long list of delicious, inventive (and classic) flavors - high quality ice cream! - fun collaborations with other local businesses on specialty flavors! - ice cream FLIGHTS, enough said My favorite classic flavors are probably the Strawberry Balsamic, Basil, Madagascar Vanilla, Honey Lavender... yum. They kicked off regular season hours again last week with a fun promo - $10 for four scoops of ice cream in a BYO-Stanley (or any large water bottle). Creative way to bring people in on a cold, January evening!
This is the best ice cream place I've ever been It's like a classier better version of a salt & straw. That's all I needed was to find more amazing ice cream in Michigan that I can't take home with me. I'm also never in Ann Arbor so that doesn't help I tried fresh basil ice cream. It was drizzled with lemon olive oil. The most amazing and unique flavors. They have butterfly moon, not blue moon. While blue moon tastes like fruity pebbles, butterfly moon tastes exactly like froot loops and is even the color the milk turns when you have a bowl. Service was friendly and didn't mind us trying lots of samples. How can you not when they're all so amazing and unique !! read more

The line was huge they have few vegan flavors to chose from which is nice, but overall it's very expensive. I had two vegan flavors, my husband had dairy ice cream, and we both agreed they're good, but way too sweet. He couldn't finish his, it was too much. read more

First time visit Outdoor tables Limited parking Lots of choices Friendly service Great ice cream read more
The Vanilla Caramel Blondie is unreal. The vanilla base is rich and super creamy, not overly sweet. The caramel swirl is buttery and deep, and the blondie chunks are soft, chewy, and loaded with brown sugar flavor. Every bite hits different. If you're torn between classic and indulgent, this is the best of both. Blank Slate nailed it. read more
While, I was in Ann Arbor for one of my company retreats, everyone kept talking about this place. The wife and I decided to stop by and give it a shot. The place is small, but welcoming. As a typical in most Ann Arbor spots, the staff was very friendly. The ice cream itself was fantastic. Great variety of flavors. We got a flight of ice cream with a whole bunch of different little experiences. One of them was even spicy. Very good ice cream. read more
Fantastic ice cream spot in the heart of Ann Arbor--definitely stop by Blank Slate! We went on a Sunday evening with no wait. There's a huge variety of flavors, and you can sample as many as you like! Indoor and outdoor seating is available. I got a 1 scoop with half Vanilla Caramel Blondie and half Brown Butter Cookie Dough. Both were great, but the cookie dough was my favorite! TL;DR: Delicious ice cream and great flavor selection! Can get 1 scoop with 2 flavors! read more
Blank Slate is a very yummy, quaint icecream shop located in Ann Arbor downtown. We arrived on Sunday afternoon to a short line outside, that thankfully moves quickly. Icecream workers were sweet. I looooved the peanut butter cookies&cream and the juniper tropica. Both were flavorful and creamy. Highly recommend. read more
Really excellent ice cream with a wide variety of flavors including some really original ones like balsamic strawberry, maple rosemary, basil, etc. All of their flavors that I've tried have been very true to their names but well balanced and not overwhelming. Prices are a bit high for AA but not unreasonable for craft ice cream. The flight is a good deal if you want to try multiple flavors ($10 for 4). They are fairly generous with samples though if you want a little bite of something before you commit. Cute shop, plenty of outdoor seating, nice employees. Sometimes a line but they get through it pretty quickly. Overall an AA gem! Really like this spot read more

Every time I visit Ann Arbor, a trip here is basically a requirement. Their ice cream and waffle cones are soooo good! My husband who normally only likes vanilla was very very happy with their "go Blue! Berry". You can sample any of the ice creams which is nice because they have some really unique ones. It was a little noisy and got busy when we arrived so I felt a little pressure to choose quickly (pressure from myself, not the workers or customers). You can step out of line if you want more time to look through the choices (since they do change). The workers were very nice and kind. Gender neutral bathrooms. Places to sit inside and outside. Absolutely delicious! read more
Came back on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't crazy packed like last time (line was out the door). The service was on point as usual and flavors are always great. My go to is the blueberry pancake, has real blueberries and the ice cream is really rich. I tried my wife's cookies and cream and that might be my new go to! It's a littler different than other places in a good way! read more
The ice cream was delicious! We love to end a Friday night with something sweet! Service was great; we tried a few flavors before making a selection. Super hard to pick from as they were all so tasty. Love wild flavors! Ambiance was cute! read more

I finally made it here! The perfect treat for Memorial Day. Believe the hype! Great flavors and a fair list of vegan options. I got a split scoop of midnight chocolate sorbet and oatmilk cream pie. Both were fab. The midnight was smooth chocolate without being overly sweet, and the cream pie has chunks of oatmeal cookie for great texture. I tried my friend's sun butter chip and it was equally delicious. I'll return many times this summer. read more
