I've driven past this ice cream shop numerous times! Recently I got invited to meet up there with the kids on a Friday evening. Plenty of parking was available in the back. Once parked we walked around to the front to order. Service was nice and patient. We sat at the outside tables to enjoy our sweet treats. I got the Italian ice. It was the creamiest Italian ice I've ever had, but the lemon flavor was phenomenal. I ate half and put the rest in the freezer over night. The OG mickeys! This one tends to stay open longer into the fall season after the other location closes. So once that one is closed this is the one we go to until they close for the winter months! They have a lot of the same items but no seasonal menu. Prices are the same though so theres that. Parking lot is slightly bigger but less seating and its in the back/side by the pizza side. On a busier road so it can get loud when trying to order but staff is nice. read more

Local favorite ice cream shop it seems like by other yelpers. Did not disappoint! Portions are huge, they have a few benches on the side where you can sit down and eat. Mickey's is your typical family-run ice cream place. They serve flurries, soft serve, and slushes. They also have fried stuff-corn dogs, fries, assorted poppers, etc. While they serve the typical stuff, there are a couple of things worth mentioning: Really quick, friendly service from kids that live in the area. They are always humble when I ask where the tip cup is. They shyly accept anything you give them. That is kind of cute and refreshing, especially when the tip cup at Starbucks drive thru practically hits you in the face. They will make you anything you want with the ingredients they have. Last week I ordered a hot fudge cream puff-hold the fudge, plus light caramel (1/2 a squirt, to be exact) and no whip. No problem! They are happy to do it for you. Baby cone with sprinkles on 1/2? OK! They also have frozen yogurt and usually have at least one sugar free flavor. You might run in to a local baseball team, but they move through them quickly, and you won't have to wait long. Just stand in line and thank heavens the kid eating the gum off of the sidewalk is not yours. If you are in the mood for a total trashy Westland-fest, get a pizza next door at Toarmina's, grab a large graveyard slush from Mickey's, and go home and watch Cops. This place is always good. The ice cream can't be beat and the food items are always fresh,hot,and very tasty.

If you live near here, or are passing through, this place is definitely worth a visit. Variety of good eats and almost too many ice cream treats to choose from. Almost. I had the peanut parfait and it was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. With friendly service and fair prices it is the perfect way to end a long day. I live down the street from here. I've been going here since I was young and it's always been good. I love their butterscotch flavor burst. They have food and good ice cream. They have always been friendly. Their ice cream is way better to me than Dairy Queen. Dairy Queen always tastes spoiled to me but Mickeys is my favorite. read more

Again, I'm an ice cream & bakery snob so there it is. I don't get the pull of this place. It's just soft serve. Nothing fancy. And I don't agree at all with the portions being big--nope. We had a hot fudge sundae & oreo blizzard. The sundae was pricey & small for almost $5-the same goes for the blizzard. We were really hoping this would be a pull to get us back but sadly, no. First off, the workers were extremely rude. They looked as if they were disgusted to be talking to me. And it took incredibly long when me and my husband only ordered 2 plain vanilla ice cream cones. After we finally got our order, they had peanuts on my ice cream. I'm allergic to peanuts so I did not order it! Now they didn't know I was allergic, but I still did not order peanuts. Great place for an ice cream. They have everything. I like to take my Grandkids for a cool refreshing treat and they love it. The service is quick, efficient and friendly. The owner's kids play baseball with my Grandkids and he even sponsors the team. Mickey's Dairy Twist has been around for many years. It's the best ice cream shop in the area. They have practically anything you could want and then some! They also offer hamburgers, chicken wings and tenders, fries, onion rings and my personal favorite deep fried mushrooms.
