Culver's earns 4 stars for the food, along with the quality. They don't earn 5 because the prices are just so high for a fast food place. The big sellers here are butter burgers but the patties are very thin. The have allot of different deserts hat revolve around ice cream. Again, a great selection, but the prices are on the high side. The staff here is very welcoming, and friendly, along with getting your order right. They don't have allot of specials though. All in all, good food, just high prices. read more

I love Culver's food, and the food was delicious! But... attention to detail is everything. I can not eat certain cheeses, I ordered a double burger plain, they read it back the same, I specifically added meat and bun only and they confirmed my order. However after we left the drive thru and got to our destination to eat, I had a burger [double] with double cheese... I typically check my order but have ate at Culver's in the past and it's always been correct, I was starving, luckily my daughter ordered chicken stips so we traded. We were out running errands and we're starving so we stopped to grab lunch to take home to eat. The prices were definitely more than they used to be. We went ahead and ordered two meals and a sandwich. We got all the way home and were missing the sandwich. I called to let them know I was missing my sandwich and was informed the only thing they could do was replace it and I would need to come back. I was 10 miles away. They were unwilling to refund my money in any way. This was an $11 sandwich. I'm disgusted with these people. Wanted to get my baby a little treat for being the best fur kid a mom could ever have!! Culver's appeared just as quickly as the thought popped into my head. When destiny calls, I bark! Got him a double deluxe burger and the chicken tenders, just in case he is in his finicky mood & decides he doesn't want a burger. Kids..........amazingly, he was in dog heaven and approved both!! I couldn't resist as I watched him gobble down his burger and stole a bite. He was full after one chicken tender so I woofed the rest of those down for him. Must admit, for a fast-food chain, the quality of food was quite impressive!! It's real simple math. Buy a basic butter burger hamburger, double and the sign says make it a meal for 3 bucks. The worker and the person claiming to have management skills both could not figure out why I was charged 1.20 extra plus tax. I said you can give me an ice cream treat after I eat and we are square. THE BEST ICE CREAM (it's frozen custard, I believe) I've ever had. At first the cones were a little soft and not very cold. I spoke to the owner, and after an investigation, he had all the counter staff over to the custard machines, and he had made an adjustment. What they brought me after that was so yummy, immediately upon finishing a triple scoop vanilla, I could have easily finished another one! I couldn't get enough. The owner was very interested in making sure his store served the best version of their food. Awesome! If you've never had a Culver's vanilla frozen custard that is properly prepared, go on down to the Culver's on Hwy 87, Country Club Road, in Mesa by Hwy 60. The owner told me if ever the Custard wasn't simply perfectly cold, creamy, and the best ever, just ask the wait staff to run some fresh, and run it out slow. Don't be shy, you'll be glad you did. Kids working closed 20 min early on a Friday. Pulled up at 9:39, open till 10 according to every business listing they have. Cone blocking drive thru. Pulled around to the window and people inside but they wouldn't acknowledge me. Love the food but that's an awful look. Three years have passed. New management changed a few things. The TV is gone, the price for the same meal went up a buck but they discontinued the Frequent Guest Card. I'm not sure why you would remove a TV. The guests have always been predominantly seniors and they played CNN, which was a good match. The price increase was understood. It'd been three years since my last visit. It was still a good value. Eliminating the Frequent Guest Card baffles the brain. There was no way for anyone to cheat and it rewarded repeat visits. So, my husband and I went there yesterday ordered 2 fish plates he had Fries I had onion rings, my fish was not over cooked like his was (almost burnt) but my onion rings were hard and way over cooked( nearly burnt) The meal for two was $32.00 and some change, definitely not worth the money!! I did say something then she asked me if if wanted to replace, I said no that it was horrible so she gave me a coupon for a dessert? !!! So we've been hearing all sorts of buzz about Culver's.. the famous butter burger and frozen custard place from Wisconsin. So we piled in the car and headed out to Mesa. When we got there the place was packed.. we stood in line for 10 minutes before it was our turn. The service is very friendly and super helpful. We even ordered the flavor of the day, caramel cashew swirls and were told we could pick that up later so it didn't melt while we ate our dinner.. that was very cool! Anyway, you place your order and they give you a number so they can bring it out to you when its ready.. another nice touch. Well after we got our food, butter burgers, fries and cheese curds we felt well, kind of let down. The burgers here are alright, kinda greasy and lacked a good beef flavor. The cheese curds were also deep fried (as most on the menu) and were good but not as good as I was hoping. The crowd there.. it was like I was in Iowa or something.. definite Walmart crowd.. I sat there and watched this kid pick his nose and then proceed to fill his soda cup from the soft drink fountain.. uhm, yeah.. I just looked at my cup and thought about all the other people who touched that button.. suddenly didn't feel very good. We got our frozen custards.. eh, very very smooth and creamy but to me just tasted like ordinary soft serve ice cream. Cashews were salty and nicely roasted, a good contrast to the smooth custard but lack depth and interest in the overall taste of the frozen custard. You know if there is a frozen custard place anywhere in driving distance I will find it! I'm tickled pink to find this one not far from my daughter's house in Mesa, AZ. I even felt their quality was better than the ones's I had visited in the Mid-west and Texas, though maybe it was just cause I'd missed them. Usually you won't catch me suggesting a fast food joint but we went here for lunch today. I got the Pork Tenderloin sandwich which had a meat pattie way bigger than the bun it was on, perfectly breaded and fried with surprisingly fresh lettuce and tomato on it. Daughter got a Deluxe Butter Burger with two patties and two slices of cheese. It was good too. She got a Reese's Peanut Butter "Concrete Mixer" drink for dessert, which I tasted and liked. I got a Sundae with a scoop of vanilla frozen custard and Hot Fudge on top and it was so smooth and creamy, just like it should be. I hope to get back there again before I leave but even if I don't at least I got my fix today! (4/19/09) 5/1/00 I couldn't resist stopping here on the way to my motel. I decided to try the "Walleye Basket" which was the daily special. The fish was good and it was a thick piece and the breading was nice and crisp but it was very oily (10pm, end of the day) and the fish had a slight cod liver oil taste so I would probably not order it again. The mashed potatoes were okay, about on a par with KFC, maybe a little better. The Daily Flavor of Frozen Custard was M & M Mixins, which turned out to be a chocolate-vanilla mix with M & M mini's in it. I would have liked it better without the candy. The frozen custard was delicious as always. They locked the doors and stopped letting people in before 10pm closing which I thought was not cool, especially after seeing two little boys be disappointed when they found out they couldn't get any frozen custard. I guess the teenagers thought if they started closing before 10pm they could be out the door at 10. That's not how the restaurant business works though. read more

This Culver's is my most frequent destination for fast food. I almost always dine in and have the 3-piece North Atlantic Cod, which is reasonably priced and is the best fried fish around. I recently was disappointed with a past take-out order, and the manager on duty, Randon, more than made it right for me, no questions asked, immediately.
