It was okay. We went to lunch after enjoying nearby Moss Rock Preserve. The parking lot was slam full, as this must be a pretty popular spot for the after church crowd on Sundays. We each chose various versions of the butter burger and fries. One thing we all agreed on was that just a single probably wouldn't do; thin patties, and you probably ought to enjoy a slightly charred taste to your burger. We likened it to another diner/grill/"malt shop" chain, but with better fries. I do concede that only one of us got a milkshake or other treat. The chocolate milkshake was deemed to be par for the diner course, while still better than the biggest fast food options. So perhaps we'll go back specifically for a concrete or some cheese curds. Specialty burgers or build your own as well as a pretty large custard (ice cream) selection. Burgers come on traditional bun or you can get a butter bun (covered in butter and toasted. I can tend to be a little of a burger snob, I like them the way I want them and I want them to come out right. Unlike the other place close by, these guys were able to get my order right. Not only did they hold the appropriate things as well as add what I wanted, they were able to do this on multiple trips. I've visited during what would be considered rush hour as they have cars lined up around the length of the building for drive through and I've been when there hasn't been anyone in line (haven't been inside yet). Service has been the same regardless of the number of cars/customers they are trying to accommodate. Overall experience has been positive and I would recommend. We were hassled to hurry with our order - execution was to just keep repeating (unclearly and muffled) over the microphone nothing close to what we were ordering. I came here last weekend with my friends after we saw super delicious looking frozen desserts on their website. I don't want to call it ice cream since many are actually frozen custards and whatnot. My friends each got the cappucino cookie crumble ice cream, one in a cone and one in a cup but added nuts. They both enjoyed theirs. The staff was all super friendly. There were about ten workers behind the registers. It reminded me of a Chick-fil-a how many workers there were. They were all cutting up and having a good time so it was good to see they got along. Culver's is a pretty medium sized restaurant, and it was walled off to where you got privacy if you wanted. That actually made our pictures rather dark unfortunately. It was very clean inside too. I got an ice cream sundae...on Sunday so bonus points for me! I topped off my sundae with strawberries and peaches. It was delicious! Sweet, rich, and a very large cup. What confused me a little about this place is that they don't have a ton of flavors. It's mostly very basic flavors topped with toppings of you choice so you should definitely keep that in mind if you get a dessert here. They also had lots of food items, but we didn't try any since we ate lunch before we came. The food looked good so I will definitely think about trying those next time! read more

Having Culver's in Hoover is wonderful. Being from Wisconsin, this adds a little piece of home for our family. This location did not disappoint. The food is always fresh and made to order. Staff is friendly and helpful with your order. My favorite is the butter burger deluxe and side of cheese curds. They have their own brand root beer which is so good. Add a turtle sundae and you can't go wrong. Their cod fish basket is amazing! This is served with coleslaw and fries with homemade tarter sauce. I miss Friday night fish fry's up North and this is offered daily Make sure you save room for dessert because their custard is amazing. My favorite is turtle sundae which has caramel, hot fudge and salted pecans. Each day is always chocolate or vanilla custard and a flavor of the day which is advertised on their outdoor sign each day. A different fast food addition to Hoover. Culver's was one of the first new places built over near the 459 construction by Hwy 150 and Stadium Trace. I was excited to try it out as I heard the burgers were good and it was different. My overall experience: ok. Upon arrival to order inside, the staff member didn't even say a word to me or greet me and actually frowned at me when I was looking at the menu. I then asked a few questions about menu items and they didn't know the answers. For my order, the double burger, I was told that anything to add was extra. Wasn't happy with that because I wanted lettuce tomato and cheese. After completing our orders, they still didn't say a word and just handed me the number for my order and we found a seat. My wife wanted to eat healthy so she got a chicken sandwich with a salad and I got a double burger with a salad as well. Her sandwich was bland and almost cold. My burger was very tasty and I liked the butter burger taste, but overall I know better burger places and didn't like the service. I may return to try another burger and some custard, but may give it a while for them to work out the kinks. Again, if you like burgers, not bad at all! First time I ever had Culver's was years ago traveling in the MidWest. Once I found out we were getting one I was excited. With anything that comes new there tends to be a big crowd. Kinda amazed at how good the food was coming 1 hour to closing. They were super fast, and I would definitely see this as more of a "quick service" type restaurant rather than "fast food". I also had the mini concrete mixer (which comes with 2 mix ins) and it was so delicious! They had tons of staff available, most likely for it only being opened for a few days. Simple with a great piece of chicken and lettuce/Mayo. Shrimp basket and fish sandwich- yes yes yes! The shrimp was SO good and sweet and perfectly fried and crispy.
