Oreo Blast small
Mariah G.

I had a Oreo blast. The customer service was great because I asked for them to put extra Oreos after seeing it wasn't many and they didn't complain and just took it back and added more free of charge. It's in a nice area & seemed family oriented. Will be a regular.

This particular location of Bruster's sits in a calmer area of Hoover, sitting nicely away from the noise of downtown. The employees, while busy at the time of my visit, were incredibly friendly and got my order in and out to me before I even had to sit down. The ice cream I got was cold, but not hard and so it was easily edible with the bit-flimsy plastic spoon Bruster's is known for sometimes. There isn't a lot of seating at this location (nothing indoors by the way), so expect to sit in your vehicle if you come during extremely hot days or very busy times. Outside of that, if you are craving some ice cream, this Bruster's location will certainly fulfill that desire!

Pistachio on a Waffle Cone and mango freeze

Yes Bruster's! Bae and I decided to get some desert on this wonderful Sunday evening. Everybody is here and you are so crowded. But, we are here for these sweets. Bae got a double scoop of pistachio on a waffle cone. Yum. I decided on your mango freeze. When I say, this stuff here good. Y'all already, I'll be back.

Fast , friendly service. Yummy , creamy ice cream dreams! Came here on a Sunday evening to satisfy the sweet tooth. I had a small cup of strawberry ice cream and it was sooo yummy and satisfying! My family enjoyed their ice cream treats as well. The staff was hard working teenagers... this was good to see. It's been a few years since I've had Bruster's . I won't be staying away as long next time!!! I'll be back real soon....

It is nit always easy to find open businesses. We tried another place and although it's website said open, that turned out to be false I called ahead this time and found out this ice cream shop was open, so we stopped over! We ordered at the window since they were not allowing indoor use. The person at the window was helpful and friendly. We ate our at one of the tables outside. Everyone enjoyed the Their ice cream. It was so nice to visit a shop again! Thanks for being open! It made a day of errands much more enjoyable!

Being that I live in the south and it gets really hot here. Bruster's real ice cream does hit the spot on those hot summer days.

I brought my daughter here after school this past Wednesday. When we got to the window I noticed one of the workers was pulling her braids back. Ok...but the thing that bothered me is that she didn't wash her hands after pulling her braids back and when she gave my daughter her ice cream she didn't have on any gloves. The only reason I didn't leave is because I didn't want to disappoint my daughter with not getting ice cream..

Customer Appreciation Pajama Free Ice Cream Day

Nothing much to say about this awesome ice cream place. Located right off 31 on corner of 31 and Vestavia Pkwy, this Bruster's Ice Cream has been there a few years now and still going strong. Sandwiched between Hollywood Pools & Spas and Milo's, this Bruster's doesn't have a very large fingerprint. There are 3 outdoor metal tables with umbrellas. A convenient drive-thru and walk up window serve as the bulk of their business but they do have a "party" room next door. They are your typical ice cream shop with a myriad of flavors from Cake Batter all the way to Chocolate Raspberry Truffle. I'm not sure if they have 31 different flavors, but they have enough to choose from. The mainly high school student employees there are always very nice and fast. Like any smart business, they also have a rewards loyalty program and an app! Now that's being progressive and trendy. Today was a special Customer Appreciation Day and anyone who arrives donned in their Pajamas will get a free waffle cone of your choice. So we threw on our PJs after dinner and made our way to Bruster's. Sarah got Sea Salt Caramel; Rachel got the trusty Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough; Tammy Chocolate Raspberry Truffle and I tried Birthday Cake. My waffle cone was delicious and crunchy. The Birthday Cake ice cream was rich and tasted... well like a Birthday Cake. Of course I also tasted everyone else's ice cream and my favorite would have to be the Truffle. I didn't really care for the sea salt caramel. To me there's something weird eating "salty" ice cream! All in all, a fun trip down to the ice cream place. Thank you Bruster's for showing your customer's appreciation. This customer is very appreciative and will be returning!

I was having a bad day and what goes well with a bad day of course ice cream. I had a cake come of the buttered pecan and it was sooooo good. I guess the worker saw it on my face that I was having a bad day because that was the biggest scoop I had. It really made my day. If you want something cool on a hot day and you know it can get hot here for to Bruster's if you are in the area.

Dino Sundae. It's hard to beat that cookie...
Elise G.

Bruster's is my go-to for ice cream in the area! There are so many flavors to choose from and they're all really, really good. You can definitely tell that this is real ice cream and not something that has a clever name to distract from the fact that it's made with non-dairy product like other restaurants in the area. I love anything in a waffle cone, the kid's dino sundae (can't beat the cookie that comes with it) or if I'm really feeling like a hog, I order the banana split. It's SO much ice cream and it comes with a huge pretzel rod to give you the salty and sweet taste. So good! I subscribe to their newsletter so I can stay up-to-date on their monthly specialty flavors. They also send out some really great coupons every month and a special one on your "Bruster's Anniversary." Pro Tips: If you create an account on their website, you can actually subscribe to your favorite flavors and receive a text when they're made at your favorite location. Really smart and comes in handy if I'm craving something in particular! Also the portions here are huge, but if you visit while it's raining, you get an extra scoop for free!

Butter Pecan waffle cone!

Just an awesome treat! The butter pecan was buttery, smooth, creamy, sweet and salty! I haven't had real ice cream in years and this was great! There were a lot of other things on the menu I would love to try and and think I will. Lol

Sprite flavored slushy. Sooo good!
Lucy T.

I absolutely love everything I've ever tried at Bruster's. The best part is that they are both flavors and products galore! Makes it super hard to choose just one thing you want. They have your classic flavors like vanilla and chocolate ice cream waffle cones, but also specialty flavors like blueberry cheesecake! Their blasts and freezes are delicious too and perfect for the summer. My favorite drink here is the Sprite freeze. My only wish would be for them to have indoor seating. They have promotions like getting a free scoop on Pajama day. You can also bring a banana on Thursdays and getting half off a banana split. They also give out free dog sundaes which I will have to bring my dogs to try soon! I may or may not be curious to try some of it myself.

I was excited to try the baklava as they looked beautiful. However, while the flavor was very good, the texture was all wrong. An authentic baklava is supposed to be crispy, flaky, and crunchy, especially on the top layers. While it is heavily soaked in sweet syrup, it should never be soggy, mushy, or completely soft. Unfortunately, the ones we had tonight were indeed soggy and completely soft.

Known for its middle eastern style offerings including Yemeni coffee and other kinds of coffee (hot or iced), pastries, crepes, and ice cream you will find it hard to find something you won't like. The place itself is a relaxed environment where you could study or catch up with friends. I tried the iced Aden latte (espresso, milk, pistachio and lavender) and it's the best coffee off of lakeshore. None of the flavors were overpowering the others. I also ordered a biscoff crepe and a sabaya. The sabaya was flaky and crispy, smothered in delicious honey. It wasn't the thickest sabaya but I enjoyed it! The biscoff crepe was so decadent. The crepe itself was soft and chewy, the perfect texture for such a delicious crepe. The fruit given with it also paired well with the drizzled sauce. I am looking forward to supporting this locally owned spot more often!

I'll be honest I don't necessarily like the forced tip screen. They put two cookies in a box and rang it up. A cookie is already $4.25. I go to Publix and they put 40 items in grocery bags and they don't ask for a tip. I go to my bank and they don't ask for a tip. Buy a drink at a gas station- no tip. The tip shame screens cause me not to want to go back. I'm actually usually a 25% tipper but when you force a tip on me I'm going for 10% because you tip shamed me. And yes I know I can decline a tip. Three cookies with tax and tip is about $18.00. To be clear, it's not the staff at the register who set this process up. I used to buy dozens of cookies every month. I don't do it now unfortunately. As far as the store. It's very small. It doesn't bother me though. Again, the cookies are delicious.
