I popped in to Pastry Art as I wanted to try their confections. They have the cutest little petit fours in a variety of flavors. Customers may pick and choose their flavors of six, 12, 24 and so forth. The shop is small with a small parking lot available. This is great as the surrounding area is crowded on the weekends. The dessert was tasty but the staff were dry. They were so dry it was like they all had a long Friday night so it was a struggle to have to work on Saturday. Took a box of various flavors to a love one in a memory facility. Asked for the flavors to be written on the box top. It was a wonderful experience for everyone. They offered one to another patient and was surprised she accepted. They referred to the top and gave away their least favorite cake. Each one was moist, flavorful and delicious. I refused to let the sour demeanor of my server spoil my visit. There wasn't another customer I inconvenience when I asked them to list the flavors on the box. I even asked if they had labels? Came in since i was in the area and figured id give them a try. They have a bunch of different baby bites to try, but beyond that their selection of ready made stuff is extremely limited. I ordered a dozen and grabbed a soda and my total was 21.00 so not bad at all on price, especially for area. We found that the icing on all of them was excellent, but the actual cake quality varied widely depending on which one you got. I always enjoy my stops in to Pastry Art. I stopped in to get some pastry baby bites for a pre thanksgiving treat. There was a line. But it moved very quickly. The staff was courteous and they were very patient, as there were several first timers in line trying to decide on choices. I went that afternoon and found a parking space right out front. I picked a chocolate chip scone and it was still warm and full of gooey chocolate. The outside was crisp while the inside stayed soft. They handled it with tongs and sealed it in wax paper. Discovered this gem after having brunch at Big Bad Breakfast just a few steps away from across the street. There was a continuous flow of customers from the time we walked in until the time we finished taste testing outdoors. For me, the baby cake bites were prefect; not too sweet, not too bland, just enough icing and super moist. Those mini delectable treats were OH SOOOOO GOOD!!! I ordered 6 and kicked myself after leaving for not ordering more to take on the road with me. My favorites were the turtle, strawberry margarita and red velvet. Okay the baby bites are just incredible however, one of the ladies who work there can be snappy and a bit impatient. Know what you want to order in advance and come early. I initially got 2 dozen for my client meeting and then went back later and grabbed a few for myself. They also have a decent variety. My faves were the red velvet and the pumpkin spice. Both had very light cakes with a thin layer of frosting coating everything but the bottom. Decent price too. It was $1.35 for one or $15.50 for a dozen I believe. Not too bad. They also do custom cakes and cupcakes but you have to order those ahead of time. If you are in the downtown area I recommend checking them out. read more

Tried an 8 cake box today. Amazing, just loved them. The Red velvet was my favorite, but really a close pick over Marble. The Strawberry was very good better than anyone else, I just loved the Red Velvet! I see there is a turtle, but they did not have it today or I would have tried that one.
